Ipsy Glam Bag: December 2013 discussion (SPOILERS!) - Page 6

I just went and checked out Starrily's Etsy shop and placed an order for 3 mini polishes.  They are gorgeous and I don't want to wait until right before Christmas for my bag.  I love that Ipsy is working with indie companies.  I love indie nail polish.  I love polish in general, but I'm kind of eh about some of the brands we get.  I will trade or give them away, but I will never, ever, ever give away an indie polish.

updates!

I didn't even know there was a spoiler! I like finding new indie brands.

On my wishlist is one of those mini scraper beauty spatulas. My foundation is around $42/bottle and I want to make sure I get the full $42 out of it :-)

No bath products for me please! I live on campus in a dorm.....EW! You couldn't pay me enough to take a bath here

I am not a bath girl at all, so if they did some type of bath product I would prefer it be in one of their either or combinations so that other people would have a chance of getting something better suited to them. Of course, we all know how that tends to go.

Yeah, I'm with you... but for diff reasons.  I bathe of course, but I'm not a water person, so being submerged in water - even clean, bubbly water with smell-good stuff in it- doesn't interest me. As soon as I get settled in I'm gonna be thinking about 50 other NON Bath related things I need to be doing with that time. Plus, I have eczema and not all bath products are good for me... unless it has oatmeal in it.

I just wonder how many bags the Starrily will be in.   I always miss out on all of the "or" goodness so I've already set myself up for the disappointment.

I posted this on a different forum but I'm really hoping for an eyebrow item in one  of my boxes this month!

I would love to see some scrubs or any winter protection items! I always forget to snag some before the weather kills my hair/lips/dry skin.

Speaking of bath products, I live in an apartment, and I've tried two bath bombs while I've been here. Both stained my tub and I had to spent hours cleaning the stains with rubbing alcohol. How do you all avoid this?

The best thing I've ever discovered for bath grossness is oxyclean (or its generic equivalent I get by the tub at Costco). I just dump a couple scoops in, fill the tub with hot water, let sit a bit, go stir it around, let sit a little more, then drain while lightly scrubbing with a big scrub brush, and rinse. It's awesome.

I'd love bath salts, body scrub, a Demeter perfume spray from Ipsy this month. Whatever they send, I'm sure it will be awesome! I've been so pleased with my Ipsy bags lately.

if you are looking to purchase one you can buy from the container store or beauty army has them on their website. I got one in my BA box over the summer and LOVE it! I need to purchase another!

Did you all see this one?

I had never heard of starrily before this thread. I might be in trouble! These polishes are gorgeous! I really might need this one in my collection!

I had forgotten that I had been hoping for something from Demeter. I didnt get that Salt Air Roll On from Ipsy, but I used my code to order from them and loved it! I am a firm believer in using the codes to order something if you didn't get something in your bag that you really wanted. If you can afford it, of course. There's always trading, too.

O.T. kinda...but every time I see an "Updates!" post...I think of Zombies saying it the way they would say, "Braaaiiiinns."

Wow, I am usually a huge fan of polish, but most of those seem way too out there for me. I just cannot stand glitter on my nails--I love my jewelry, but nothing sparkling on my nails. I am glad they are featuring an indie polish company--I know a lot of people are dying to try one. Hopefully you will all get the perfect one!

Kinda sorta off topic (but sort of relevant lol) can anyone tell me the brand/name of the peely base coat stuff people say is good for under glitter polish? I've searched online and just haven't found it.  I've been wearing SO much glitter polish lately and the possibility of the Starrily makes me really want to find it, since it's so hard to remove.

updates!

I'm super glad that Ipsy is partnering with an indie company. Hope they can handle all the new business they will get though! Also really hoping that I actually get one of their polishes in my bag!! They all look so pretty.

Someone commented on an older post on Starrily's Facebook page, asking about the colors that will be available in the Ipsy bags.

Excerpt from Starrily's response: "Unfortunately Bzzz Bzzz is the only color that will be included in some of the Dec bags!"

I haven't tried it myself, but I've seen a lot of posts about people just using good ol' white Elmer's glue as a peel-off base coat. Maybe that's worth looking into?

I am antsy for spoilers!

Aww I hope I get the nail polish I was really looking forward to it no matter what the color is. I'm on a no buy sadly, so I can't even purchase it. That is going on my Christmas wishlist
