Branching out and using different brands for different products (ALL of my HG "categories" are from different companies--blush, foundation, eye shadow, brushes, etc--all from different companies) gives you tons more options, and makes it so much more fun!!!
This is helpful to me! :-)

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

When using your mineral foundation wet, remember to sweep onto the face first, then buff! Works out so much better than going straight to buffing!

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

Don't be afraid to change things. I find that weather/humidity so affects my skin that I need to change application and skincare routine to make the most of MMU.

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

Wow, some really great tips in here!

I'm also offering the idea of a small ceramic bowl. It makes loading the brush so much easier. Just tip enough foundation in to do one side of your face and swirl the brush.

Also, apply those eye shadows with a damp brush! It'll give make your pigments go on much brighter and they'll last longer.

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

Mine would be to get three shades of MMU.

1. Get one that is a perfect match when applied dry.

2. Get the next lighter shade for winter months and wet applications (because it does darken a bit with moisture).

3. Get the next shade darker for summer months, or use it daily on sections of the face to keep it from looking too 'uniformly colored' and unnatural like a bronzer.

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

Press the mineral foundation into areas on your face with large pores and then buff with a flocked sponge. Also buff, buff, buff regardless of what kind of brush or sponge you are using.

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

my tip for mineral blush makeup is to always tap off excess on the inside of your wrist.

And l have two shades just because I couldn't find my exact shade so i have one lighter and on darker and I either use them together and blend them. Or use them seperately to contour

Oh and I love the tip of bronzer on cheeks chin and forehead I love to do this. Very natural looking, but makes your face look so much more lively

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

Hi simisimi,
I bought my flocked sponge from EDM. I don't think it is because of the foundation. This sponge is different than ordinary make up sponges.I don't know how can I explain it but it looks like a thin sponge covered with cotton fabric?!! But you were right I tried it wet this morning and it really works. I did one layer with wet sponge and after it dried I had a second layer with my dry flat top brush. The coverage was really good.
I'm using EDM right now(and found my shade finally!!)
I haven't tried Cory yet but I'm still sampling from different companies)

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

Some of my favorite tricks are:
Find a MMU that works for your skin. I have dry skin so I prefer Meow Flawless Feline formula. If you have very oily skin, I recommend Monave, it has oil absorbing clay. Stay away from mineral makeups that are clumpy or beady, they will leave streaks. A good mineral makeup will absorb into your skin, even out your skin tone and wear through the day with the illusion that your not wearing any makeup.

Use an oil moisturizer as soon as you come out of the shower while your skin is still warm and damp, I like Silkia camellia oil/emu oil combo. Let it absorb for about 20 minutes. This works better than any primer I have tried.

Before applying MMU apply your highlighter and or glow powders and cheek stain first, this adds a radiant glow.

For wet method, I use a flat top brush, lightly mist my face and my brush, pick up the minerals and sweep around the parimeter of the face, working in.

For dry method, I use a kabuki and apply with a circular method. I do not tap excess out, instead I tap the excess on my problem areas, usually the t-zone and brush them out.

I do not use a concealer, I just go over my undereye and any blemishes with the same MMU in the same shade or a shade lighter with a concentrated concealer brush.

Finish with a light layer of warmth as a contour for the cheekbones, the sides of the nose the chin and hairline.

Every woman should own Silk perfection finishing powder. It is the best product I have ever tried, it gives a candlelight glow and it makes your face look fresh all day without touchups.

I use my flocked sponge dry and it works great but it may not for some. I still want to try it wet.

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

my tip is to press foundation or concealer on the undereye..dont sweep..this prevents caking of the concealer and will lessen the setting of powder into the fine lines of the eye area

another is to spritz/spray evian or any mist after applying everything dry..this makes your makeup stay put the whole day and this makes your Makeup look more natural

and lastly, wait for 30 minutes or so after the application of MMU to see the "true" effect/look of your makeup..this is because your makeup has already blended in in your skin

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

When I am applying a blush, I spritz my brush 1-2xs with a hydrosol & then dip into the powder & then apply. Not really a 'wet' application but it makes a huge difference in staying power & the amount of blush used.

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

Make a moisturizing solid concealer!

1) Take a small empty sample jar
2) Fill it halfway with your concealer
3) Add 4-5 drops melted shea butter (or little more if you want light coverage)
4) Mix thoroughly and tap the jar to set the surface even
5) Put the jar to the fridge to cool and set

This is great for dry eye area or to pimples that are drying out and flaky. The slightly moist concealer binds also the base you use over the concealer, that adds up the opacity - so the concealer does not need to be 100% opaque.

It is good to make small amounts only (you need no preservatives)!

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

buff, buff, and buff some more!! and with mmu, less is always more no matter what.

Re: What is your BEST MMU tip?

Using a foundation brush or a concealer brush first to apply mineral foundation and then adding as needed and blending in with the kabuki.

Wow I've got to try this. I usually stay away from mineral concealers because they usually make my fine lines very prominent. It will be great if this works for me.

Applying Mineral Shadows wet (foiling)

?
i saw your tutorial and it really worked..

make sure that you have these two as staple
1.) monistat or any good primer
2.) and a hydrating mist

if you have time.. practice even if your not going anywhere and take pictures... some mmu glare on light/ flash modes...(mostly with zinc oxides)
