I was lucky enough to get an awesome set of Sephora eyeliner crayons from one of my close friends this holiday season, including some really neat shades. The one I can’t wait to try out? Sparkly white! White around the lids is suppose to make you look more awake with eyes that really pop.
But I’ll admit that I have no idea how to rock white eyeliner. If you’re just as clueless as me, read on to find out different ways to use white eyeliner, al0ng with proper application.
As Traditional Eyeliner
Yes, you can use white eyeliner as…well, eyeliner! If you want to make your eyes really stand out, line the waterline of your bottom lash line, the waterline of your top lash line, or even both, if you’re feeling daring. Just make sure that you have a shade that works on you – otherwise, you might look a bit silly!
If you want something a little more subtle, you can also simply dab a bit of eyeliner in the corner of each eye – this will achieve the same brightening effect without going overboard.
As a Highlighter
White eyeliner does more than just line the eyes: you can also use it as a brow-bone highlighter. Highlighting is a useful trick that draws the eyes upward and gives you that healthy glow.
To highlight with white eyeliner, lightly shade the area just under your eyebrow – I tend to think of it as the area that you normally wax or tweeze hairs from. Make sure you apply very subtly – it should be just barely there to get the full, natural effect.
As a Primer
If you’re running out of your normal eye primer, you can white eyeliner instead! Not only will it keep your eyeshadow on all day, but it’ll also make the colors more vibrant and noticeable.
To use as a primer, simply shade in the entire lid before doing the rest of your eye makeup. If you like the look, you can also stop there and use your liner as eyeshadow, too!
