If you read my post about 10 Ways To Glamorize Your Winter, then you know that one of those looks was glowing skin. But you may not know how to get the kind of skin you want. Have no fear help is here!
The first thing that you have to understand is that no matter how much makeup you put on your face, you will not get the glow that you can achieve by working towards clean healthy skin. There is no glow more authentic.
Step 1- Exfoliate. Exfoliate the skin twice a week with a scrub that has the perfect abrasion to it. You do not want anything too rough, that will literally scrape off too much skin and you will have a new problem on your hands. If you do not know of a good exfoliator, try St. Ives Microdermabrasion Scrub. Not only does it smell great, it is gentle on the skin,
Step 2- Protection. Using foundation can dull the skin and make it look dry, but a tinted moisturizer can give your face an appropriate glow. Follow up after cleansing or exfoliating your skin by using a tinted moisturizer with SPF protection. Try Boot’s No7 Soft and Sheer Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15.
Step 3- Moisturize. What is glowing skin without moisture? Dry skin tends to be very dull and will not give you the look that were are trying to achieve. The first thing that you need is a good masque to hydrate. All the ingredients that you need are right in your fridge! Try a little oatmeal, honey, yogurt (fatty one), and olive oil. All the fats in those products are sure to give that thirsty skin some moisture. The oatmeal is an added bonus because it will exfoliate as well. Second thing is a good moisturizer to put under your foundation. Try out MAC Cosmetic’s Moisturelush cream. It promises to wave dry skin bye bye!
Step 4- Fake it to Make it. You have done all you can. You exfoliate, you moisturize. But now you want more, you want to shine like a bright lightbulb! Don’t worry they make illuminizers for that! Stila and MAC in particular make some very good illuminizers for the skin.
MAC’s Strobe Cream de-snoozes, de-stresses, moistens, freshens and boosts the look of dull, flat or tired-looking skin with a fully loaded vitamin zap and a mega dose of green tea. Brightens and clarifies with iridescent particles and antioxidants. Enhances the effects of light on all skin and in all lighting conditions from sunlight to spotlight.MAC’s is easier to use, you do not have to be so tedious.
Stila’s All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer also gives the face sheen and luminosity, but it is missing the botanicals that you find in MAC’s strobe cream. It is also a little harder to gauge out and use.
