  2. If you don’t naturally have long, thick lashes, the good news is that there are lots of options to give you a beautiful, natural-looking or even a dramatic eyelash look. One popular type of lash extensions service is the application of Mink lashes. A big fan of this type of lash extensions is superstar Beyoncé. Her makeup artist Wei Lang told The Cut, “I always use Mink lashes on her. They look amazing. I use strips by Velour called ‘Are Those Real?’ and I got her really into it, so she buys them by the ton.” Read on to find out more about this celebrity tested, Beyoncé-approved beauty technique. Photo by veroll sterling on Unsplash Mink lash extensions often come from the Siberian Mink, a dark-colored semi-aquatic animal. The Mink’s fur makes for luxurious, natural-looking and comfortably lightweight lashes. Mink fur also takes on a nice curl to help it blend in easily with your real eyelashes. Lash extensions are a great solution for achieving a gorgeous look every day without having to apply tons of makeup. While they do require the proper maintenance to appear their best, the lash extensions are sure to get you lots of compliments. Be sure to find the right trained esthetician or lash artist to apply your lashes. Your tech’s proper education and certification are key to achieving great results and for your eye health. Many lash artists have portfolios that you can check out before you choose to book a service. For example, Mobile Styles, the on-demand beauty app provides a portfolio section where you can browse the work of all the beauty pros listed in the app. With just a tap of taps of a button, you can find a talented lash artist and make an appointment. The best part of the Mobile Styles app is that your lash artist will come to you so that you can enjoy your service in the privacy of your own home. Now that you’ve found a lash artist, what can you expect of the service? The process usually takes about 2 hours for the first application. After that, you should maintain your lashes with appointments every 3-4 weeks. The tech applies the lashes while you are comfortably relaxed on a bed. Be sure to ask your lash artist for aftercare instructions! This may include avoiding water for the first 24 hours and avoiding certain mascaras.
  3. The final results of dramatic makeup applications are definitely worth all the allure and time it takes to paint your face to make up magic. Heavy evening cosmetic applications are stunning and sexy. All glamour girls should stand out, and what better way to be trendy and noticeable than with perfectly applied, strong makeup to complement your fashionable clothing? Dramatic makeup for evening events generally entails wearing more cosmetics than during the day. Whether you go deeper on lipstick colors, heavier on foundation and rouge, wear false eyelashes, or add glitter and rhinestones to your eyeshadow, dramatic makeovers give you fabulous facial results that radiate beauty. Photo Source: Pexels One makeup ritual that is always a win for fancy evening events is the smokey eye. Smokey eyes speak high-end glamour, and the finished look is smokin’ hot! Applying the perfect smokey eye can be accomplished in these easy steps. How to apply the perfect smokey eye: 1. Prep the Eyelid: Swipe an eyeshadow primer (base) across the upper and lower eye area and let it dry. 2. Select the Colors of Eye Shadow: Smokey eyes work best when you use a dark and a lighter color (brown and gold, dark blue and light blue, etc.). Beauty knows no bounds. You can use whatever shades you desire! 3. Apply Eyeliner: Apply eyeliner above the entire upper lash line, drawing the line thicker in the middle of the eye. 4. Blend in Color on Bottom Lashes: The bottom color is one of the main elements of the smokey eye look. Run an eyeliner pencil under the entire bottom lashes and smudge the line with your finger or Q-tip. You can also apply some eyeshadow and smudge the eyeliner and eyeshadow together. 5. Apply Base Color: The key to a fabulous smokey eye is pairing a lighter base with a darker shade. Sweep in a light, glistening shadow over the eyelids to the browbase. 6. Blend in the Darker Color: Blend in the darker color of eyeshadow starting at your lash line, blending up. Blend the color into the lash line so that the eye liner disappears. 7. Check Your Work: Make certain that both eyes match and rub out any smears or smudges with a Q-tip. 8. Apply Lots of Mascara: Thick, dramatic mascara is a must to finish off the alluring smokey eye effect. Apply enough coats that the lashes look long, thick and dark. Black mascara works best for the ultimate look. False eyelashes can be applied if preferred. Photo Source: Pexels Congratulations! You have mastered the smokey eye! Many people use eyeshadow to simply improve their appearance, but it is also commonly used in theater and other performing arts to create a memorable look, with bright, bold colors. Depending on skin tone and the shades of eyeshadows selected, the effect of eyeshadow usually brings out the glamour and gains attention. The use of eyeshadow attempts to replicate the natural eye shadow that some women exhibit due to a natural contrasting pigmentation on their eyelids. Natural eyeshadow can range anywhere from a glossy shine to one’s eyelids, to a pinkish tone, or even a silver look. Schedule an appointment with a Mobile Styles health and beauty pro for a much-deserved makeover, and you’ll be hooked! Photo Source: Pexels Now that you’ve applied mesmerizing dramatic makeup and attended a delightful evening event, how do you remove all the cosmetics from your face before going to sleep? It’s easier than you think! Wash your face with warm water and a gentle moisturizing cream to remove your base foundation and rouge. For eyeshadow and mascara removal, a commercial eye makeup remover can be used, as well as baby oil or petroleum jelly. You may also purchase makeup remover wipes at salons and beauty supply stores. Photo Source: Unsplash When it comes to dramatic evening makeup looks, less is never more. You don’t want your makeup to be so heavy that you resemble a clown, but applied elegantly and strong enough to be ready to paint the town! 4. Over the last few years, CBD has become a hot ingredient in the wellness community because it is thought to have many health benefits. What is CBD? It is a cannabinoid that comes from the Cannabis plant. It is thought to help with relieving pain, fight anxiety, reduce acne and be anti-inflammatory, among other positive effects. It is important to know that CBD does not make you high, though it comes from the same plant as THC. According to High Times, “Because CBD doesn’t get you high, products that contain only this cannabinoid can skirt the legal ban on marijuana.” This means that CBD is legal almost everywhere. CBD has been embraced by the beauty industry and has made its way into shampoos, moisturizers and body oils. In fact, recently it has become trend for spas to include CBD in various treatments. Here are a few ways that spas are using the amazing powers of CBD to bring a relaxing and holistic experience to their guests: CBD Baths Photo by Jared Rice on Unsplash A warm bath is always a great way to start off a visit to a spa! Soaking in a bath with CBD will help soothe your body and get you feeling super relaxed. If you have any pain issues, it will also help ease your aches. One spa that offers CBD in their hydrotherapy is Larchmont Sanctuary Spa in Los Angeles. Larchmont spa offers a calming soak in a custom-built copper tub. Guests will enjoy the benefits of a CBD Bath Bomb that formulated to relax your muscles. “This preparation makes subsequent massage treatments more effective,” shares the spa on their website. CBD Massage Photo by Toa Heftiba on Unsplash A massage with CBD brings anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety benefits to the service to enhance the results. It will help melt away your stress! DuBunne Spa Club and Massage Centre offers Cannabliss Massage and explains that “A gentle massage with the CBD infused oils will stimulate your skin and help you to feel more alert and alive. The massage therapist performs the treatment in a way that not only are the muscles and joints stimulated, but the skin also comes to life and will feel soothed & less irritated.” Another Los Angeles spa that offers CBD in their massages in Desuar Spa. At Desuar, CBD can be added to any massage as an enhancement for only $20. CBD Facial Photo by Adrian Motroc on Unsplash With its many amazing qualities, spas are also adding CBD to their facial menus. For instance, Celebrity esthetician Ildi Pekar’s wellness studio in New York offers a CBD Vibe Facial, “designed to provide an instant uplifting energy and illuminate the skin by combining the effects of CBD Oil, electric stimulation, and oxygen therapy.” CBD Manicure and Pedicures Photo by Rune Enstad on Unsplash CBD is even being using in nail salon services! At Bellacures, a salon with locations in Los Angeles and Texas, clients can enjoy the Canna-cure. On their website, Bella describes what guests can expect from this treatment: “Known for its efficacy at providing deep targeted pain relief, aches will ‘melt away’ during an enhanced massage using Kush Queen’s CBD relief lotion, made with an organic aloe juice base, blended with powerful botanicals and powered by true nanotechnology. Clients will also be treated to a CBD chocolate to ‘chill’ from the inside out.” Sign us up! Create the CBD Spa Experience at Home Don’t want to leave the comfort of your home to enjoy some CBD “me-time” pampering? Luckily, there many CBD products are now widely available. First, start your experience with a calming bath with Relax CBD Bath Bomb from Kush Queen. Next, order a massage straight to your door from Mobile Styles, the on-demand beauty and wellness app. With Mobile Styles, a massage therapist, nail tech or esthetician will come right to you!
  5. Photo Source: Pexels Give me a head with hair! Long, short, thin or full, our hairstyle and hair type matters to all of us. How we choose to wear our hair, the color, the length and the texture means as much to how we view our personal look and style as the makeup and clothes that we enjoy. Our hair is actually a protein filament that grows from follicles in the dermis. The most common interest in hair is focused on hair growth, hair type and hair care. Many of us define ourselves by our trending tresses. The Andre Walker Hair Typing System is the most universal system used to classify hair. According to this system there are four types of hair: straight, wavy, curly and kinky. In the realm of our luscious locks, it seems that many of us wish to change our basic hair type. People with straight hair long for curls while those with natural wavy hair wish for straight tresses. Even if you only want to change your hair type once in a while, there are various hairstyles that work wonders for every hair type. Photo Source: Pexels Hairstyles That Work Well for All Hair Types: Curly Ponytail: A ponytail is the easiest hairstyle that you can try. Simply pull your hair back into a high ponytail, securing it with an elastic band so you don’t break the hair. Divide the ponytail into 2 or 3 sections and use a curling iron to add curl section by section. Secure the curls with hairspray if desired. The Bob: Since the bob is a short haircut that tends to curl in under the chin, this hairstyle works well for everyone. If you just can’t seem to grow your hair long, or you prefer hair that is short and sassy, then why not opt to go short and trendy? The bob hairstyle fits all hair types. Off The Forehead: Hairstyles that are parted down the middle of your head or are blow dried and brushed back off the forehead can be done with all hair types. To keep the hair completely off of your forehead, wear a headband, which not only secures the front section of your hair but is a great way to accessorize. Straight Hair: Yes, even wavy, curly and kinky hair can be made straight by using a flat iron and a hair straightening leave in conditioner. Cornrow Braids:While some people with kinky hair are blessed to have natural looking cornrow braids, even those of you with straight or wavy hair can wear a head full of cornrow braids. If you desire this beautiful, exotic look, go for it! Twisted and Wavy Hairstyle: Create a middle part and take one inch of hair from both sides. Twist these sections at the back with a pin to achieve this look. Jazz this feminine, flowing hairstyle up with a flashy hair accessory. Wet Hair/Slick Back Look: This look is sleek and sexy. Simply run some gel on your hair from the hairline to the crown and spread the gel evenly throughout your hair, using a wide tooth comb to neatly comb your hair back. Congrats! You’ve got the wet head look. Photo Source: Pexels Photo Source: Pexels Most of us have gone to a professional hair salon at some time, got a fantastic weave, color, haircut and hair style only to discover that once we got home and shampooed for the first time, we never get our hair looking as wonderful as it did when we left the salon. How do you remedy this disappointment? Book a session with a Mobile Styles professional hair stylist who will not only give you the hair that you desire, but will explain the process and help you understand how to replicate the look yourself. Mobile Styles will bring all fashion divas and men loads of smiles! Photo Source: Pexels No matter what natural hair type you were born with, there are always ways to change it up with hair and beauty professionals and products. Do you love stick straight hair? Loose, feminine waves? Tight spiral curls? Tighter S curls? You can have them all from time to time by booking a Mobile Styles hair stylist. Their work and expertise is sublime!
  6. Sometimes a little soreness after a workout makes you feel like you got the most out of a successful exercise session. On the other hand, if that soreness leads to pain, you may find yourself avoiding your next trip to the gym. Don’t dread exercising due to post-workout soreness. Here are six tips for relieving pain and discomfort after your workout. Photo by Justyn Warner on Unsplash 1. Stretch. According to Livestrong, the right type of stretching “loosens muscles, allows for better movement and reduces your risk of injury.” Stretching regularly will not only help improve your performance, but it will also reduce your risk of soreness. Photo by Steve Johnson on Unsplash 2. Drink Water. Drinking water has many workout benefits. Not only will it keep you from getting lightheaded and dehydrated, but it will also rid your system of toxins. Men’s Journal reports, “Drinking plenty of water can help flush out toxins from your body and prevent dehydration, which can make muscle soreness even more painful.” Not to mention, drinking water is great for your complexion. Win, win! Photo by Victor Freitas on Unsplash 3. Workout Safely. Don’t injure yourself by using equipment improperly. If you don’t know what you are doing, you risk really hurting yourself. Take a group class under the supervision of a trained professional or consult with a personal trainer before trying something that is beyond your skill level. 4. Take a Bath. A nice warm bath can help relieve those after workout aches. It’s a great way to relax and ease some soreness at the same time. According to Medical News Today, soaking in cold (but not freezing) water can also help with discomfort by helping to slow down pain messages being transmitted to the brain. 5. Get a Massage. There’s a reason why NFL teams have massage therapists on staff: Professional athletes know the benefits of a good massage after working out! Self magazine explains, “A post-exercise massage can help because it increases blood flow to the muscles you worked—which helps you sidestep soreness, according to a 2014 study published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.” Luckily, you don’t have to be a superstar athlete to have a massage therapist come to you! With Mobile Styles, an on-demand beauty and wellness app, a massage therapist is just a few clicks away. 6. Foam Rolling. Personal trainers often recommend foam rolling for relieving soreness. Even NBC news shared that foam rolling is a top way to relieve muscle soreness. A study states that “Research has found that rolling out your muscles like dough can help reduce delayed onset muscle soreness. It can also improve performance in subsequent workouts.” Follow these tips and you’ll be feeling energized and accomplished after your workout instead of miserable due to soreness. See you at the gym!
  7. Remember last year's obsession with pom-pom straw bag? This year, fashion has adopted the simple and humble bag that many of our grandmothers used to go to the market, the Net-Bag. This bag of natural material, minimalist and beautiful is perfect for a day at the beach or simply to give a special touch to the outfit of the day. The best of this new trend, is that anyone can add this bag to their closet, doesn’t take up much space and you can find designs from $ 1.39. The only thing is that if you plan to wear your new and beautiful net-bag as a purse of the day anyone will be able to see what you are carrying. You will be wondering how you can use the net-bag in a way that doesn’t look like a market bag chicer. The secret is in the tone of the bag, the outfit of course and the accessories that you will carry inside the new and trendy net-bag. There are many ways to show off this trend and one of them is to add a cloth bag inside your net-bag. This way, you can carry what you need during the day and nobody will be able to see your belongings. One of the most seen looks of this accessory trend are neutral tones like beige, off-white, latte or this moth wing color that Valeria from Instagram blog @valeriasytnik is wearing. Valeria inspires us to show off our net-bags by adding small cosmetic bags of different prints to create contrast and to help us store our most valuable belongings like cell phones or lipstick. If you want to show off this trend on a pool or a beach day, get inspired by Nancy from Instagram blog @fancynancisita and add vibrant colors like red, yellow or fuchsia to your closet. You can get a pack of five different colors net-bags for $15.99 at Amazon.com. If what you are looking for is to wear this amazing net-bag trend in a more chic, elegant and unique way, inspire yourself with Karin from the Instagram @the_fashion_pheromone who added a clutch inside her net-bag creating not only contrast in the colors, but also a new and sophisticated way of showing off this stunning summer trend. I am sure that after seeing these four different ways of wearing this trend, you’ll be itching to search for your favorite color. Don’t forget that you can find packages of two to five net-bags for an amazing price on Amazon!
  8. Summertime is here and that means it’s time for barbeques, fireworks, and pool parties. Scoring an invite to an awesome summer celebration is a pretty sweet way to kick-off the summer. Your hosts have most likely put a lot of hard work into the preparation to make sure all of the guests have a great time. Show your appreciation (and party etiquette) by bringing a gift or food item that they will enjoy. Here are five solid idea options of items to bring your hosts. 1. A Delicious Dish. It’s always polite to ask what food you can bring to a party, especially if your hosts are cooking or if it’s a potluck. From appetizers to desserts, your hosts will appreciate the offer. Be sure to ask if your party throwers if they have any specific favorites, allergies, or dietary restrictions. If they don’t want you to bring something, they will let you know. Instead, you can bring a gift to show your appreciation for the invitation. Photo by Matthieu Joannon on Unsplash 2. A Nice Bottle of Wine. You can almost never go wrong when you bring your hosts a good bottle of wine. Ask which varieties they prefer so that you are sure to bring a bottle they will enjoy. If on the other hand, your hosts don’t drink, there are plenty of other options to show your thanks. Photo by 许 婷婷 on Unsplash 3. Flowers or a Potted Plant. Beautiful flowers or a pretty potted plant will put a smile on your host’s face. Succulents are a huge trend and another fun idea. The flowers will also be a nice touch to add to the ambiance of the party. 4. A Massage Gift Certificate. After all the hard work your hosts have put into throwing the party, they will be exhausted. Gift them with a gift certificate to Mobile Styles, the on-demand beauty app that comes to you. They’ll be able to relax in the comfort of their home with a wonderful massage from Mobile Styles. Or if they prefer another service, hair, makeup, and nails are other on-demand beauty options on the Mobile Styles App. It’s a unique gift that your hosts are sure to love. 5. A Thoughtful Gift Basket. Personalize a gift basket with your host’s favorite candies, chocolates, teas, or coffee. Who doesn’t love a great gift basket? Remember, it is important to consider your hosts and the event when determining what is appropriate to bring. With these five options, you’re sure to find the item that is just right! These tips were brought to you by Mobile Styles. Get ready for all your summer soirees in style with a little help from the beauty professionals at Mobile Styles. Get $50 off your first Mobile Styles service when you use code lookbook18es.
  9. Beach waves, or what I like to call Mermaid hair, is a classic summer trend that will always look flawless. It’s an effortless look that looks casual yet classy all at the same time. Who doesn’t want that?! If you want to achieve the perfect summer hairdo but don’t know exactly how to, keep reading! Hair Prep To get the ideal mermaid hair, use moose to prep your hair. When you step out of the shower, brush your hair so it’s tangle free. Then grab your favorite moose (the choice is yours, however, I encourage you to purchase one that mentions “curls” or “volume”). Using the moose, scrunch the product throughout the hair. Once your hair dries, your hair will be prepped with your natural wave and/or curl. Bring The Beach To You! If you have naturally straight hair and the moose is not enough to prep, bring the beach to you with sea salt spray! Sea salt spray adds texture to your hair to fake that tousled “just came back from the beach” look. Spray your sea salt spray on to your dry hair and work it through the hair. Tip: If you have naturally dry, or curlier hair, I would encourage you to SKIP this step. I have naturally dry/wavy hair and I find that sea salt spray dries out my hair more and makes it a bit too frizzy. Different Curls Photo by Jeffrey Roberts via Instagram Using a straightener or curling iron, curl your hair in different directions to make it look more natural. For one strand of hair, curl toward you. Then, for the next strand, curl away from you. It’s also important to shake out the strand after curling it, you never want the waves to look too tight. That would give the illusions of curls. Skip The Heat To get mermaid hair without heat, try sleeping with your hair in two buns or braids. For the bun method, split your hair into two top ponytails. Then twist one of the ponytails into a bun, and hold in place with a hair tie and bobby pins. Repeat with the other ponytail. When you wake up, undo the buns, and brush your hair gently. You should be left with wavy, beach hair. For the braid option, sleep with your hair in two french braids, when you awake your hair will be crimpy and wavy. Both are totally easy and non-damaging ways to achieve mermaid hair this summer.
  10. By Danielle Carlson Photo by Max Rovensky via Unsplash Summer is right around the corner, meaning it’s time of the year to remove our body hair one way or another. If you’re like me and want to find alternatives to shaving but can’t afford laser hair removal, you’re stuck between two options: waxing or threading. Which is the better option? Waxing Waxing, I believe, is the most convenient way to remove body hair. Waxing removes your hair from the root, meaning you’re hair won’t grow back for three to five weeks (depending on your hair type). Waxing also prevents ingrown hairs, which is great if you’re prone to getting those hurtful things. Like all hair removal, waxing does cause some pain. It also could cause some irritation or rash due to the heat of the wax. So, before waxing your whole body, test it out first on a smaller part of your skin. When it comes to making your next appointment for waxing, your body hair has to be grown out by two to three inches, at least. Or else, the hair won’t remove properly. This means you will be a bit hairy between sessions. Threading When it comes to the face, threading is my personal go-to for hair removal. Our face is more sensitive our legs, arms, or other body parts, which means we have to be more gentle. Our faces require the natural oils that waxing so harshly removes. Threading is also more precise compared to waxing. When removing eyebrow hairs, you want to be as careful as possible to avoid pulling too much hair, sometimes waxing can lead to thinner eyebrows than expected. Personally, when waxing my face, I would always break out because of the heat of the wax. With threading, however, my skin is free from redness, irritation, or breakouts. Threading is also more sanitary, we never truly know how clean our wax is and how long it’s been sitting out. So, which is better? If you are removing your facial hairs, threading is the way to go! But if you're removing hair from your legs, arms, or stomach, waxing is the faster, more practical way to do it. Which method do you prefer?
