  2. Generally speaking, you want to be around the same rate as others working in your market. Experienced commercial stylists are getting $600/$700 a day & definitely charging a kit fee for larger numbers of subjects. With film, anything goes. Some photographers & producers really like (& need) the option of an hourly rate, but have a minimum (like 2 hours) if you offer that.
  3. Offer your services to photographers testing models, filmmakers, vloggers, etc. Generally speaking, people start out working for low or no pay until they can get enough experience to start charging for their time. Craigslist usually has postings for short films, and there's also Facebook groups you can join so you can network.
  4. Avoid bright lighting behind you (window in daytime, bright lighting). Experiment with exposure by tapping on different areas of the image display so you have an idea of how to get good skin tones that are not "washed out" (too light).
