lots of stuff, i read soo much!! but my favourite genre is historical fiction, favourite authors are philippa gregory, diana gabaldon and margaret george.
  1. Don't have Naked 3 but my Naked 2 palette had this issue, and this week about half of the pans actually fell out!! Luckily not far just inside of my makeup train case I use to store my stuff... nothing broke . When they are out you can see they are only held in by a blob of glue, which is why some may look uneven? Glued off centre or not pressed down into the pan with even pressure before they dry. I used a hot glue gun to put my pans back in and made sure to press down slowly and evenly so they would sit nicely, it seems pretty secure now!
  2. Hey guys! I haven't seen a ton of swatches of this brand out there, they are an indie brand on Etsy. Found them on a whim, ordered about 7 colours, got 3 additional freebies... I really like them and just ordered a few more. But it's hard to find swatches, so I thought I would throw mine out into the internet for others who may be trying to find some! With flash. Without flash. L-R: Naked Lady, Champagne, Taupe, Perfectly Peach (looks more peach in real life but definitely a light/highlight shade), Whisper (looks very orange here but in real like is more of a coppery-gold, actually pretty subtle on the lids), Espresso, Dark Chocolate Truffle (these last two are almost indistinguishable, only real difference is Espresso is gold microshimmer and Dark Chocolate Truffle appears to have more colours of shimmer, other than that they look identical), Golden Olive (shimmer shows up more in real life, brassy-gold and green shimmer), Red Blackberry (appears more burgundy in real life than the purpley shade seen here), Stripped (really gorgeous matte taupe). Hope these help!
  3. Hmm... I definitely will want to see more swatches and general pictures before I decide on this one. I have the original Naked palette and I almost didn't get the Naked 2 because it seemed fairly similar... but then my roomie got it so I got to check it out in person and use it, and realized there were a few shades different enough from the first (Booty Call, Tease, Foxy, Pistol, Verve mainly). But now from what I see so far, this third palette seems mostly like a combination of the first two? The more palettes they come out with in this line, the harder it will be to stay original with the colours! Of course, I reserve the right to change my mind once I see more pics and swatches! And of course see it in person!! You never know!
  4. One of my favourite foundations is the Lasting Finish 25 Hr foundation! But I do get a little frustrated when I see some great looking Rimmel products that are only available in the UK! Feelunique.com is a British online retailer that has quite good prices and ships free worldwide, and they do carry quite a good selection of the UK version of Rimmel products. Would definitely be worth checking out!
  5. Can anyone who tried this speak to how good it is at holding a curl? My lashes love to straighten out once I put on mascara, even if I curled it right before - I've only found two kinds that don't do that and they're both waterproof! I really wanna try this stuff but I'm worried I'll end up with poker-lashes! :s
  6. I think it does - the shape of your eyes plays into it too though. Personally I never put anything in the waterline, and if I do anything below my lower lashes it's a very light dusting of a very subtly dark eyeshadow - but most of the time, I do nothing but mascara on the lower lashes, no other definition. I find it makes my eyes look too closed off and small.
  7. It looks to me like you have hooded eyelids, but you're in good company So does Blake Lively! Google her, or just Google "makeup for hooded eyelids" and you'll find plenty!
  8. Hmmm I have about 15, including ones starting at 3 shadows and all the way up to big Sephora palettes with 50+. Plus I have quite a few single shadows. I have lots of eyeshadow!! Hahaha!
  9. Can't say I disagree MissLindaJean if it were financially possible I think my boyfriend and I would have given her one month notice tonight. soccerkidtlk - That's ridiculous! It's frustrating enough to have someone do it, and then lie about it, but it's weird when they admit it but just still can't see why you would be mad. Sure there may have been cultural differences at play if they were an exchange student but I'm surprised she wasn't prepared for exactly that kind of situation - cultural differences in things like sharing food etc. My roommate, since we confronted her about this, has continued the passive aggressive crap in order to deny this and keep lying. She posted a status on FB saying "Cleaning up, not a good look?" and on Tumblr, which she knows I follow her on, saying "I'm really sorry I cleaned up your empty chip bag" - blatantly not meant as an apology to me (since she would have sent it TO me) but a sarcastic comment to vent. Gonna start saving up money to replace her things once she moves out...
  10. For background, I live with my boyfriend and a roommate, a friend who I have known since 4th grade. She has always been the type to get what she wants - youngest girl in a family and her parents to this day pay for many things for her, including her phone bills, even though she is approaching her mid-twenties, and she tends to get very defensive if you get even mildly confrontational with her. Or even if you say something she doesn't like but you are trying hard not to be confrontational, she still takes it that way.... anyways despite all that we get along for the most part and always have, and have all lived together for several years. But on many occasions it has been suspected, or in other cases blatantly obvious, that she was eating our food without asking us, and when it was explicitly obvious she was not allowed to. We agreed when we started living together to share basics like milk and butter, but that the rest was for ourselves and not for sharing. But as I said, on several occasions it was obvious without a doubt she was eating our food, and on other occasions we were almost certain she did. And we have confronted her about it, and given her a chance to admit to it. I believe one time she did fess up to it and we told her not to do that again, if she wants something, she can ask. But recently we've been noticing food going missing again... and today another blatant example occured. I bought some chips yesterday and ate a bunch of them, got a little carried away while reading a book... I noticed I was going a little crazy but stopped myself while there was still enough for a decent sized (personal) bowl of chips, put a clip on them and put them in the kitchen to save for my boyfriend so he could have some. I went to bed (at this point my BF was already sleeping). We both got up early the next morning and went to work. When I got home that evening, my BF wasn't home yet, but I noticed the bag of chips was in the garbage. I texted him to ask if he had eaten the chips that morning and I just hadn't seen him do it, but he said no. So right there I knew she ate them.... but still, when my boyfriend asked her about it, she got all defensive and said she was cleaning up in the kitchen and the bag was "practically empty" so she just threw it out. Funny thing though that I knew for a fact there was enough for another bowl in there... and that the kitchen (which was messy and needed to be cleaned) was EXACTLY as messy as it had been when I left that morning for work, except for our missing chip bag. The same clean dishes were waiting to be put away in the dishwasher, the same dishes were in the sink and on the counter, and in the drainrack, the garbage was still full and ready to be changed. The counters had the same crap that needed to be put away sitting there. Not a thing was "cleaned" except for our apparently empty chip bag. Just so frustrated with this crap.... it's not the first time it's happened, it's not the first time she's lied. The advice you always seem to get it just to confront them - but what to do when confrontation doesn't work? When they just lie to your face? And have the nerve to act all wounded and sassy afterwards like you falsely accused them or something. Unfortunately at this point financially we can't just kick her out, unless we knew 100% we would have someone else trustworthy to move in - plus it wouldn't be easy to do that to someone you've lived with for years and known even longer. It's not practical or possible for us to lock up our food away from her. It's like we've tried everything we reasonably can. At this point I'm just ready to start treating her food like fair game, if that's how she wants to be. (EDIT: LOL I have to have a chuckle though that THIS post is actually my 1000th! haha...)
  11. Since I assume we're only talking about the part of getting ready that has to do with beauty rituals, it takes me roughly 20 minutes. Maybe a few minutes longer if I'm doing something with my hair but sometimes I just brush it! But yeah, for makeup I'll give myself around 15-20 minutes.

    Grossed Out!

Ugh yes... I work at Bath & Body Works and people are just constantly opening products to test... like the little PocketBac hand sanitizers, they'll open the lid and pull off the paper seal and just chuck it on the floor with a salesperson standing like 3 feet away. No shame at all! Or people will just pop open the twist up hand soap pumps... like seriously?
