  • One Interesting Fact About Me

  1. Hi! I hope this isn't too late! I'm a Counter Manager at Estee Lauder. Depending on the manager's schedule, it probably takes about a week at the most for them to coordinate with you. At least at my Macy's, we generally prefer to move pretty quick with interviews.
  2. I bought Bare Minerals' moisturizer because the beauty adviser said that if I mixed it with the matte powder it would create a liquid foundation consistency. It does, but my skin needs much more coverage than the matte powder + moisturizer provides. My skin also broke out after a few days of using it. I wish my skin wasn't so sensitive.
  3. Exactly. I have oily skin, so when I was first experimenting with makeup, by the end of the day it would always look really oily. A mattifying moisturizer or primer would help significantly.
  4. I like MUFE's HD Powder too. It works really well for me and lasts all day.
  5. Hi Mary! Welcome to MuT If your skin is oily, you have a few options. My skin is oily too and I need to use a couple different things to fight off the oil. Have you tried putting a primer on underneath? I use the Smashbox Photo Finish primer and it works wonders. There's also powder you can put on after you put on your foundation, I use MUFE's HD Powder. It helps me keep the oil at bay pretty well, and it lasts way longer than 5 hours. As far as foundations are concerned, I sound like a broken record on this website I swear, but the best I've found for me is Laura Mercier because it's geared toward yellow-based skin, and also because it doesn't break me out and it does well at not appearing oily or greasy. It's no worse in price than Lancome is so if you're already using high end brands it's worth a try.
  6. I definitely like Sephora better. There's better selection and usually better customer service. I've had mixed feelings about MAC and their customer service. Sometimes they're rude, sometimes they're really nice, but it's never really in between.
  7. Here are mine: 1. Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation 2. Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy 3. Clinique Acne Solutions (Steps 2 &3) 4. MAC Lipstick in Sweetie 5. MUFE HD Powder 6. Urban Decay Naked Palette 7. Kate Somerville Exfolikate Acne 8. Sephora Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner 9. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer 10. NARS Blush in Orgasm 11. Cargo Blush in The Big Easy I made a lot of awesome discoveries this year, I have to say. Laura Mercier's Foundation is probably my number one though. I love it!
  8. I'm sure other people can suggest cheaper alternatives, but what I have been using for a long time now is Laura Mercier's silk creme foundation and Make Up Forever's powder. I have really really oily skin, but I don't even need to use oil blotting pads because of this foundation, plus my skin is almost always clear now, it never was before. I had horrendous acne. So I don't know, for me it's worth the $42 every six months if it means that I'm going to have clear skin and no worries.
  9. Sometimes I don't even get a shipping notice until the day it's in my mailbox. I always figure Birchbox will replace it anyway.
  10. Probably my best friend. My mother and sister wouldn't appreciate it
  11. Nobody can really tell you "what to do," it's your choice, but I have some opinions. -You shouldn't make decisions based on other people, it has to be based on you. I'm learning that the hard way now. You may always regret that you turned down one of the best universities in Sweden. If being with him isn't worth passing that up, you should reapply. -Just because he doesn't believe in soulmates doesn't mean he's not dedicated to you. I don't believe in soulmates either, and I still made the commitment to marry my husband. What I can say though, is when my husband says things like that, I'll never preface it with "i don't believe in soulmates." When we were engaged, I'd say stuff like "I can't wait to spend forever with you," things that don't necessarily imply that he's my soulmate, but do imply that I am dedicated to making the relationship work and that it means something to me. If he's not excited about being with you, that relationship may need some rethinking.
  12. I'm already married, but this is what I was looking for I guess. 1) Either shared or was accepting of my religious beliefs 2) Honest 3) Educated- At least a bachelor's degree. I'm going for my PhD, I didn't want to deal with the education gap. 4) Maturity- I refused to marry a kid. There are so many guys that stay immature, ugh. 5) Similar interests
