  1. Jenna Hipp New Candies 8-pc Mini Nail Polish Set Only $7.99 Seriously???!!!! @ COSTCO Cause you know... other websites are selling the exact same thing for $25.00 or more. Just sayin.
  2. I love love love Rimmel Provocalips... The staying power is true and the colors are amazing. You do need to start out with dry, lined lips and then spread one or two coats of color. Allow the colors to dry, about 20 seconds if that... then add the clear "lip gloss" side for shine. They are drying (its a stain and most stains do), but the glossy side of the product makes up for the lack of moisture in the pigment. And the best news, they're less than $8 and if you get them on sale - even better! You can find these puppies at any drug store that carries the Rimmel line.
  3. There are hauls... then there are obsessions.
  4. See the burn lines?? lol It was hot yesterday!
  5. Emails went out today... Im confirmed to receive these....
  6. So, Beauty Rooms are becoming all the rage. If you have the space, its trendy now for women to have their "private" area... you know, like the man cave, but for women and prettier (and brighter). My cousin has a spare bedroom in her tiny house. The rooms are small and the closets even smaller. The spare bedroom didn't even have a closet... She rarely used the room and she asked me to help her create a "beauty" room. This isnt the only room I helped create, but this is the MOST economical one and the one I am most proud of because it was soo thrify and fun to shop for. We did some research, compared prices, scoured tag sales and craigslist and this is the final result. Meanwhile, its taken about a year to get to this point, but when you're on a budget, every little purchase counts. Second hand beauty room. Most of the main furniture is Ikea's dark brown office items. Desk - $30 Craigslist Billy Bookcase w/Doors - $30 each Billy Bookcase (no door) - $20 Square bookcase - $70 Brass Mirror - $3.00 Large Make up pictures - Gifts bought at Home Goods (retails for $25 each) Boutique hooks - $1.00 each at Dollar General Coat rack - Free (tag sale) Jewelry armoire - $30 Night table - free (tag sale left over item) Chairs are from dinning room (not normally in here) Under the black cloth is an Ikea Klingsbo display case - $30 Do you have a beauty room?? If so, share your pics!!! I would love to see them!
  7. Went to IMATS on the Friday Pro night and it was significantly better than going on the busier Saturday/Sunday days. The time for shopping was limited but I got to meet a lot of makeup junkies and interesting people with less crowds. Gone are the days when you were able to go to IMATS and haul products at a significant discount for your kit. Everything seemed to be at prices that are “regular” discount prices… Like ULTA’s 20% off coupon price. Either way, I picked up some goodies… not much, but enough to make me go home happy. Sigma goodies: Misc Vendor: Lit Costmetics partnered with Vargas and he exclusively sold a waterproof lip glue where you could adhere glitter and have glitter lipstick that you can eat /drink and it stuck!! This stuff lasted ALL NIGHT! Right through dinner and two margaritas!! Bdellium Tools: Continuing with my pink collection NYX was there... and I got the Ben Nye poweder at Vargas's booth: This, is not my photo... but I fogot to take one cause I had my bottle in the bathroom already... Beautylish was there and they specifically sold Bioderma only - the large bottle was $19 and you got the smaller bottle... free. And here are some awesome people I got to hang with!
  8. Yay! I got my first IPSY bag after a year off the program. I'm really excited about getting this bag again and sampling new items. Here are my goodies:
  9. Hi all!! I'll be there Friday night. I wont be zombied up tho, but I'll be around.
  10. my personal brushes - about every two weeks... unless they're really bad then I was them as soon as I can.
  11. Post your looks! Even if you dont have your list of goodies... This is my workday look - using mostly samples. Cause I love the foiled life. Face - Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - sample Face - Buxom Show Some skin foundation in Sweet as Honey - delux sample Face - Too Faced Poreless Pressed Powder Face - Amazing Concealer - Medium - sample Contour - Laura Geller Baked Bronzer Cheek - Milani Rose Powder Blush in Romantic Rose Eyes - Roller Lash Mascara Eyes - Kat Von D Liquid Liner in Trooper Brows - Too Faced Eyebrow Palette Eyes - Coastal Scents Revealed Palette - Sample Lips - Covergirl Oulast Illumina in Moonlight Mauve
  12. First, before you venture in the makeup world check with your state and see if you need a licence to practise make up application... some states require certifications/licences/etc. You may have to take a makeup course or two to satisfy the needs of the health department. Either way, to answer your question, the RCMA brand is awesome. With cream foundations, you just need to set it with a good powder before you can use any other type of powder. Once you set it with powder tho, you need to know that you cannot go back in with a cream. Basic rule of thumb: Cream on cream, powder on powder... cream to powder... never powder to cream. Hope this helps.
  13. You're in a great place. Companies like MAC, Makeup Forever, and others offer student discounts... Check the websites of your favorite products and see if there is a "pro" only section... there you might find information for student discounts and even amazing prices on student kits. I just mentioned this in another post, the best kit is the one that you build. Not brand specific but with products you love. Now, that said, the school offers a kit and you might have to use it only to be in line with the other students and follow the instructor to the tee... and get the same results, but once you're out on your own, build your kit however you like it.
  14. Hi, the best kit is one you make yourself. If you stick with one brand you're limited with your options. MAC, Makeup Forever and others have kits, but you might not like everything they sell. Also, there's nothing wrong with drug store kits. Just use the products that you LOVE, that way you always feel good using it. If you feel good, chances are, your work will show it.
