  1. @slinkycats: haha! I guess I have no idea what I need help with. I grew up Pentecostal so makeup was forbidden. I left the church in my 20'3 but did not start wearing makeup until I was 29. So, I have had no one to teach me. Also, I started VERY SLOWLY....Pentecostal women that leave the church have a tendency to look like clowns bc they have NO CLUE what they are doing. I started with mascara and foundation. I added blush bc someone said they thought I was sick bc I had no color...lol. I just started wearing eye shadow in the last two years (I'm 34 now)...and only started wearing it EVERYDAY in the last 6 months. I have learned everything I know from YouTube. So, sometimes I feel like I still have no clue what I'm doing. That's my story....so if you ever see anything I need to improve on, please point it out. ;-)
  2. This is my first fotd post. Very new to makeup...all I know, I learned on youtube. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I used: CoverGirl and Olay Simply ageless Foundation L'Oreal HIP "sassy" Milani "bronze doll" Sephora waterproof cream liner (black) Sephora waterproof jumbo liner (black; to define outer "v") Wet n' wild Bronzer Smashbox eyebrow powder
  3. I'm going to start participating in this FOTD thing...I've been too shy. I suppose because at 34 years old, I am just now staying to wear makeup. I am not confident in my skills. @Jean: in one of the posts I read that you live in Louisiana...I don't think we are too too fast from one another (I live in Alexandria)...I too have no friends that are a nerdy about their makeup as I am. I totally love makeup. Maybe we could set up a "play date". LOL! Sent using Tapatalk
  4. I searched the Web and found great reviews (mostly on YouTube) on a eyeshadow primer from Lime Crime. It really is amazing. Before trying Lime Crime, I was using Urban Decay primer potion. Lime Crime is $17....it was $22 with shipping and you need very little....I have a feeling its going to last me a long time. Sent using Tapatalk
  5. I use baby shampoo on my brushes. It is amazing. Also use baby oil to remove my makeup. They both work better than any expensive brush cleaner our makeup remover.
  6. I am not talented enough for free hand...I used the sally Hansen nail strips. Sent using Tapatalk
  7. Hello all, My name is Linde. I live in central Louisiana. I am new to makeup and finally feel like I kinda know what I am doing through practice and YouTube tutorials. I really like this site...excited about getting to know everyone. Linde
  8. I was disappointed that they weren't accepting any new subscriptions. I am interested to try my glam when it opens back up again. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk
  9. Hi all, I am new to the forum. I am loving all the information on the site. I would love to connect with other makeup lovers on google+. I know invites have been hard to come by so if you need one just let me know (PM me with your gmail) and I will invite you. I like google+ sooooo much. It is like facebook and twitter but better. So far all I have are "tech" friends who are also on google+ and I am not sure that they are interested in the latest eye shadow colors. :-)
