  3. I have to say I'm pretty impressed that an etsy seller has an item in the Popsugar box. I can't imagine how many tea towels had to be printed. Also - the seller is located in Gainesville, Florida. Shout out to all the Gators!
  4. I just ordered a third.....eep. One is for me. One I got as a gift for my sister, BC why not - it was $19.97!! I was going to put together a care package for her, but this is so much better and cheaper! And the last one I got to use as gifts for multiple people in the future - I don't know who just yet, but I know that there will be someone who needs a gift and these items will be perfect for gifting!

I saw they I looked this rule up a little bit ago to see if there was any more information to clarify the difference between "unordered merchandise" and "items received because of a shipping error", and to me it seems that items received because of shipping errors can be treated as unordered merchandise according to the FTC (found in the FTC business guide to mail or telephone orders): Unordered Merchandise Whether or not the Rule is involved, in any approval or other sale you must obtain the customer’s prior express agreement to receive the merchandise. Otherwise the merchandise may be treated as unordered merchandise. It is unlawful to: Send any merchandise by any means without the express request of the recipient (unless the merchandise is clearly identified as a gift, free sample, or the like); or, Try to obtain payment for or the return of the unordered merchandise. Merchants who ship unordered merchandise with knowledge that it is unlawful to do so can be subject to civil penalties of up to $16,000 per violation. Moreover, customers who receive unordered merchandise are legally entitled to treat the merchandise as a gift. Using the U.S. mails to ship unordered merchandise also violates the Postal laws. Basically, the way I read it, anything a company sends you without your prior agreement, is unordered merchandise. The FTC even explicitly says you have the right to keep an item sent to you by mistake "Tell the seller that you reserve the right to keep the merchandise or dispose of it after the specified time has passed." That statement was found as part of the FTCs answer to what one should do if an item was sent as the result of an honest shipping error. The FTC suggests that you contact the seller and offer to return the item provided the seller pays for return shipping or arranges pick up within a certain amount of time, with the consumer reserving the right to keep or dispose the item after the time has passed - "reserving your right" meaning you have the right to keep the item and any offer to return it doesn't waive your right to keep the item. Reading the rule explained in two different places helped me understand what I do and do not have to do as a consumer and frequent online shopper. I don't get a ton of unordered items, basically none, but it would be a hassle to me if I had to send something back because of a company's mistake - time, gas, etc. to get to usps or ups location. ETA: OOPS - guess I took a bit to catch up on this thread - glad it worked out that you didn't have to send the item back!
  6. It definitely stinks that people are getting different responses. I called this afternoon after I opened my box. At first I was told to return the item and a new item (the correct one) would be sent to me. I asked if they had gotten more in stock because the last time I checked the item I wanted wasn't showing up. The rep took a second to check to see if the item was in stock, made a sound of surprise when it wasn't, told me he was processing a refund for me and then asked if I had any other questions. I said no and he never mentioned returning the item again . 5 minutes after I got off the phone I had an email saying my refund had gone through and I should see it reflected on my card in a few days.

Based on the amount of listings of samples I see for sale on eBay - like 20 of the same foil packets sold together - I can imagine that Sephora believes that those with Rouge status who are making a certain number of small dollar amount purchases are resellers.
  9. I don't have Rouge, but I do have Flash. My orders always ship the same business day if I order before late afternoon. From what I'm guessing, even though those that are Rouge spent at least $1000 in order to get the status, free shipping is a perk; and as someone with Flash, free shipping isn't a perk, it's what I specifically paid for. Even though I spent no where near $1000 to get the free shipping, I think that's a pretty big difference from a business stand point. It might not seem fair since the main perk that Sephora advertised for Rouge members was free shipping, treating the two pools of people differently isn't without reason, at least in my opinion. Editted - I've placed multiple small orders in the last month - I believe 10 $1 when the glamglow eye masks were a sample so they were all on the same day too. Partly because I wanted to try them and share with my sister and partly because I wanted to test my flash membership. All the orders were sent without a hitch. My fiance was so mad to see 10 sephora boxes stacked up by the front door.

  11. While I liked this box enough, I cancelled my sub the second I got my box last week. I like the full size items, but I'm just not compelled to stay. If there's another 50% off code though, I'm totally in :-p
