  • One Interesting Fact About Me
  1. I've heard a lot about this brand, but assumed it would be completely out of my price range. I was floored when I went to their website. What a selection! And what amazing colours! And more to the point, what amazing prices! I have to get me some of this brand when I get some money.i can't wait to try them. Thanks for all the replies!
  2. Now this seems bizarre to me, considering the colours That normally work for my skin tone. My friend gave me some foundation(it was an emergency!) and it actually worked. It's bizarre, because its a lot darker than I'd normally use. It's by MAC and its their Light Medium. Can you explain why it worked for me, because I can't figure it out for love nor money!
  3. What I'd like to find out is the various colors in foundations, concealers and loose powders in all brands compatible with my skin tone. I hate to say it, but the girls at my local makeup store seem to know even less than me about makeup, and have chosen wrong on more than one occasion. Here's the colours that I know work well: Concealers: Maybelline Age Rewind - 10/Fair Foundations: Studio Gear Dual Identity Mineral Wet/Dry - Cream Lorac Porefection - PF2/Light Bare Minerals - Fairly Light Fair (I mixed the two together) This brand is no longer compatible with my skin. Loose Powders: Studio Gear - Light Unfortunately for me, I live in a small town with no Sephora anywhere near me. I miss Sephora so much! I don't really like to buy cosmetics over the net, unless I know that im getting the right colours for me. Store-wise I have an Ulta, and a Belk. Not the best selection, I know. Hopefully, by the telling you the brands and colours that do work, will give you enough information. Also, I have combination skin, oily around the nose area, with a tendency for the skin to flake. My forehead is also oily. I have occasional breakouts, I am prone to whiteheads(if anyone knows how to get rid of those things, I'll be eternally in your debt!) I'm also prone to sweating, gross I know. I h ad a hysterectomy when I was 35, and that's the cause! I really love the look of mineral makeup, but I can't wear any brand that has the 'bismuth oxychloride' in it, as this is the cause of really bad irritation for me. I look forward to your help, thanks!
  4. I posted in another thread that I was in dire need of some new brushes. Coastal Scents was having a sale on, so I decided to take the plunge and purchase a bunch of their brushes. They're so cheap that I really lose nothing by trying them. All of the reviews I've seen of them are fantastic, and I can't wait to get them. Here's the ones I ordered: Destiny eyeliner brush $1.17 (2 of these) Classic large eyeshadow brush $1.49 (2 of these) Classic dome eyeshadow brush $1.77 (2 of these) Classic angle eyeshadow brush $1.17 (4 of these) Classic blender crease brush $1.49 (2 of these) Classic pointed blender brush $1.77 (just the one!) Classic detail round brush $1.77 (1) Classic angle liner, medium $1.17 (2) Classic angle liner, large $1.17(2) Classic fan $2.97(just one. I've never used a fan brush before, should be interesting. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!) I thought I'd see how I go with these brushes. I ordered them all with natural bristles, I don't like synthetic for some reason. If I like these, then I'll order some face brushes, foundation brushes, etc. For the price, you can't go wrong.if they turn out to be a bunch of crap, no harm , no foul. I'm hoping though, that all the reviews I read are accurate! Anyway, I'll keep you all posted.
  5. I've been advised by some ladies at Ulta to try a couple of other brands, and so far so good. The new ones I'm trying are Lorac (I don't think this is a mineral makeup, but It doesn't matter) Porefection baked perfecting powder, and Studio Gear Dual Identity Mineral wet/dry. They are both around $27 each for 9 grams, both have nice coverage. I like them. I don't like the coverage as much as the Bare Escentuals, but it's really nice to put on makeup that doesn't irritate my skin!
  6. Hi there, I'm looking for rose scented fragrances, preferably perfume or EDP although I will use EDT too. I'm looking to swap but I will buy also provided the price isn't too high.
