The environmental working group released a new study of nail polishes that showed that many of them containing a harmful chemical even though they might otherwise be advertised as non-toxic. According to the study, a nail polish can be a free of the common toxins yet still have Triphenyl phosphate (TPHP) that can accumulate in the body. Here is a link to the article. http://www.ewg.org/research/nailed Here is the list of the brands that contain this chemical
i DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT NAIL CARE AND NAILS IN GENERAL I always had short nails because i was trimming them with a nail cliper. And now i want to grow them in order to do nail art.Because you cant do nice nail art in short nails. And of course long nails (clean and healthy) are always better looking. I saw a video on yt and she was putting her hands in a bowl of warm water with salt (for brittle nails or something) and then she pushed her cuticles back with a stick. Can anyone tell me WHY she did that??
I am new to nail polish. My nails always look like they have been done by a 3rd grader if I do them myself. I have decided that maybe it is because I do not use oil, base coat, or top coat. There is a huge price difference between some of the brands. Is there a huge difference in quality and effectiveness? Which brands do the job for less and which brands are pricey but worth it. Is there a brand you swear by and will not switch and why?
