when a company discontinues your ultimate favorite product? It's been a LONG time since I've had to buy lipstick. So I am almost done with my last tube of Forever Metallics lipstick by Maybelline in Copper Pink. I go on their site to see if they have other products in that same color only to find out that this lipstick has been discontinued.

I used their product finder b/c that is what they recommended to do. The shade of lipstick that it brought up for me in their new line is NOTHING like my Copper Pink! My copper pink went on like silk, made my lips pop, went with my skin tone perfectly, made me look like a star!

This makes me a very sad panda!  Anyone else feel this deeply about a favorite product?

I totally understand!

L'oreal had Rouge Plump and I LOOOOVVVVVED these lipstick/gloss. I last found them a couple years ago at the Dollar Tree. I bought ever last one of them and finally used my last one, last year. I loved the wear of the fomulation. I have never found another product to come close to it.

I miss Corn Silk products too :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I havent had this happen to me yet but I am so not looking forward to it.

I know how you feel.. when they discontinued Wet 'N Wild's Mega Eyes shadows, I was soo bummed. I was addicted to the cream and shimmer white shades. ):

I wrote Maybelline an email when they discontinued their Eye Express eye liner and got a nice reply which basically said "too frigging bad.... Thanks for using our products". Lol. Still have half a tube left!

I have quite a bit of products that are discontinued it makes me sad lol.  I usually will stock up if I absolutely love a product because you never know if/when they are goign to be discontinued lol.  I also check amazon and ebay if I have run out

The forever metallics lipsticks were showing up at dollar tree about 6 months ago and sometimes you can still find them there. You should pop in there if you have one near you and see if you can find it. Otherwise Bonnie is right, check with Amazon or ebay.

Corn Silk I see at Big Lots sometimes.

I agree ... Dollar Tree will have many discontinued products. I'm always amazed at what I find!

Big Lots for Corn Silk? THANKS! I will defo check them out this weekend!! Hmmm, I wonder what else I can find *LOL*

Dollar Tree. Big Lots. 99 Cent Only. LOVE those.

But for discontinued stuff, I tend to do better at the "local" dollar stores, which aren't part of a chain or whatever. Got a handful of Sephora brushes for .97 each at the one in Canyon Country, CA, for example.

And you guys may appreciate the humor of this, by the way! I was in Goodwill last night, and they had a $5 ELF item (can't remember which one, now, though, although I think it might have been the Silver Box Holiday Nail Polish) marked at 6.99. I was very WTF about that, lemme tell ya!

Once upon a long long time ago I wore only one lipstick. a company called Cabot made it. It was this gorgeous plum brown with a pink metallic shimmer in it. I got compiments from strangers at bus stops. Then one day the granddaughter of a woman I took care of decided to help herself to my purse, and my makeup bag. The last Cabot lipstick in my possession was all over her, and the walls. When I got through cleaning it up I ended up scouring Buffalo for a replacement--it had been discontinued since I bought the last three tubes at the drugstore. This was before eBay and Amazon, and I hadn't heard of Three Custom Color Specialists. I had never been able to find a match since, except for a Lancome lipstick called "Must Have"--discontinued too!!!

These days if I'm looking for something that's been pulled, I see a lot of discontinued products at a chain called The Christmas Tree Shops, which is similar to Big Lots. The one near me isn't carrying junk either--I see a lot of Maybelline and Revlon in there.

That's frustrating! I wonder if the company has any left that they could sell you? Wouldn't hurt to pop off an email or call customer service.

I've had this happen to me on three products. I found one of them at big lots & stocked up like a crazy woman lol & the others I've found on ebay. I stocked up on my fave lipliner & the mascara I'm trying 2 find a replacement. It's getting old paying nearly 20 for a maybelline mascara but I love it so much. It's also getting harder to find & I saw one listing price of $30!!! INSANE!!

You might be able to find them on Ebay!  I've found some treasures in bulk before just randomly looking!

I have a fair ammount of products which i fell in love with, used all the time! then they discontinued them all and i have yet to find anything close.

well I think I found something similar to the color I am looking for. Went to sephora today and went through all the lipsticks. Found 2 colors by Nyx, Rose Bud and Jupitar. Rose bud is slightly darker and Jupitar is slightly lighter, mixx them together and I get a very similar my copper pink. I wanted to check out their Diamond lipstick line but they were all sold out.

I miss The Christmas Tree Shop! Went there all the time when we lived up north! I dont think they have any in GA though :*(

You can either write to the co. (sometimes they keep the discontinued products and sell to customers individually.  Estee Lauder does this), or you can mail the remainder of your product to some new outfit that will make more for you.  I read about it in an article recently.  It's a cosmetics company who re-creates out of production lipsticks & other cosmetics.  They do require a certain amount of your old product- not sure what it is.
