Sephora Beauty Insiders Holiday It Kits

Recommended Posts

Okay so speaking of Josie maran I saw a holiday kit in stores a bunch of times that included the organ oil beach wavy spray, yet when I look on sephora there is nothing, not even anything that says its out of stock, and I know sephora is horrible at removing no longer stocked products because I come across them all the time. I really wanted to try that set, it had the body butter and some other fun sounding products, now I can't find it boo!
They had a stack at my local JCP Sephora! 4 items and they're travel sized? I can see if they still have them and let you know.

I didn't realize the It Kits were still available! I placed an order a couple of days ago with the free shipping code instead. Grr. I didn't get to try any of the kits yet. Does anyone know when the code will expire?

I just placed an order... shouldn't have but geez! the It Kits are still available (no 2 sold out bawling.gif) and Sephora sent me a 20$ card in the mail and a 15$ in an email. I was able to use them on the same order :) so I got It Kit #1, Mary Lou Manizer, Nars Pure Matte Lipstick, Nars Albatross Lip Gloss, 100pt La Vanilla sample,  and 3 samples, for 28.00 including tax. icon_biggrin.gif

Does Sephora still sell Mary Lou-Manizer? I can only find Betty-Lou. I keep missing those HauteLook sales!

This is so tempting, but the shipping fee. Made me change my mind
That's a huge misconception every company with an online storefront uses. You're not saving money if you to to spend X amount more to qualify for free shipping. Say a $30 purchase with about $6 S/H as opposed to spending an extra $20, just to "save" that S/H? You're spending more, which is exactly what the companies want lol.

i think she was saying she wasn't going to buy at all, not that she wanted to spend more to not have to pay for shipping.

and for me, at least, it's not because i want to save money, it's because if i'm going to be spending money, i want my money going towards what i'm buying, not shipping.  if i'm $10 away from shipping but buy an $18 item instead, that means i would have to pay the first $10 anyway so i would rather have that go towards something i get to keep, and it's worth the extra $8 to get it.

Meant to ask, what did everyone think about the Lancome mascara that came with all of the ItKits?

I want to love it, but I am having a hard time mastering that wand without getting clumps!

Last year, I spent $50 just to get the free shipping but then I returned everything I didn't need for the free shipping at a local Sephora. They didn't say anything and just made sure the makeup I got was unused.

Which is why it's so effing backwards to have where, when you spend more you have to pay more for shipping :P. That's like shipping practices from the dawn of this century. I didn't think anyone still priced stuff like that, but I bought a pair of shoes at J Jill and they had it like:

merchandise total shipping and processing fee
$0 to $30  $5.95
$30.01 to $50 $7.95
$50.01 to $75 $9.95
etc etc

As if $30 worth of clothes is going to weigh more than $28 worth of clothes :P. I'll bet the majority of orders at Sephora are $50+, I only like to shop online when I've hit the free shipping point.

speaking shipping, do you think they'll do the last-minute no-min shipping again? I think last year, in the last week or two approaching xmas they have free shipping.

Alright ladies, I need some advice.  I am placing an order and I am trying to decide if I should get an IT kit or the 2 buxom deluxe minis kit that is still working (Dolly gloss and Brooklyn lipstick).  I already got IT kit 2 and 3.  Should I go for It kit 1 even though I am too pale for bronzing, get another IT kit 3, or get the Buxom? Too many awesome choices!

Oooo, what's the code for the Buxom--if you don't mind giving it?

I vote for Buxom!  Their lip products rock.

Just placed an order and got the It Kit #3... Kinda bummed cause someone else on here told me about the kits a few weeks ago and I REALLY wanted #2 for the makeup remover.  But then I saw Kit #3, and since my makeup tends to end up anywhere but my face by the end of the day... Kit 3 it is! Crossing my fingers for no substitutions (except the fragrance... they can substitute for Billionaire Boyfriend all they want).

And question for all of you... I ordered the men's sample fragrance kit, and it comes with a voucher for a free bottle of cologne.  It says online that it's only redeemable at a stand-alone Sephora store, not the ones inside JCP.  How strict are they about enforcing that?  I'm within a few miles of a JCP/Sephora store once a week, but to reach a stand-alone store I'd have to drive in the opposite direction for over an hour. Which doesn't seem worth it when you factor in gas and drive time.  Has anyone had any luck redeeming a voucher like that at a JCP Sephora?

Magicalmom, they'll enforce that. I have a JCP Sephora very close by and when I looked at one of the fragrance samplers, a sales associate kindly pointed it out so I'd know up front. I don't think you'll be able to skirt that rule. But, it's still a great deal!
