Sephora Active Codes- Codes only thread - Codes, Coupons

Recommended Posts

hehe, let's wait and see, so after banning does it mean u can't even buy from their store anymore?
Thats what's so weird - people say they're only banned from online shopping but can still shop in the stores. It's bad when you're scared of ordering certain things. I placed 4 or 5 orders for Black Friday and was a bit bad on one item in particular. Added it in 2 orders ( don't judge me :) ). Now I'm wondering if something like this will get me flagged. This is insane. Hope your order goes through though!

I got really slammed at work the past 2-3 weeks and just had to catch up on nearly 900 posts!! It took me a few days but this thread has exploded. I am so sad to hear about the people who have been banned from shopping at Sephora online :( I looked over the Black Friday deals last night and all I wanted was the Josie Maran set so I checked out with that and a Smashbox lipstick. Then this morning I saw that Sephora had added a $10 deal with Tarte Maracuja Oil and an eye cream. I already use the oil and have the eye cream on my loves list. I really don't need anything else so I checked out with just that. I have to say after reading this thread I am ever so slightly concerned I'll be flagged for, "Fraud" after placing 2 relatively small orders (which would have been just 1 order had the Tarte $10 deal been available when I ordered last night).

Whoa. I just got email: My order has already been shipped. Or at least assigned a tracking number.

I ordered last night right after the $10 deals went up and my order shipped (assigned tracking) this morning.

I'm not even a VIB so I haven't had much to add to these discussions! Definitely isn't going to make me try to get to VIB next year but so far my personal experience with Sephora has been fine.

I wish Sephora would give warning before banning and state clearly what the "fraudulant" combination is so we can cease and desist.  I mean even the lawyers do that before they slap you with a punative measure!

You know just tell me (hypothetically):

status quo:

small orders ($1 to $ 5) placed: 333

medium orders ($25+): 666

repeat orders of all products: $1 x too-many, $3 x much-too-much, $100 x 49 etc...

Sephora recommendation: no more then 3 repeat orders placed seprately, stand on your left toe and spin to the left 7 times on a Tuesday, etc...

First two of three orders have shipping confirmations now.

I don't understand why they do not want repeat orders.  The makers of those items are probably thrilled because it is selling.

Who cares if I want to stock up on an item?  Or if I love an item so much that I want to gift it to friends & family?  This makes no sense at all.

That is the ridiculous part of this. They are taking normal shopping behavior like stocking up or gifting and casting it in a paranoid light. Now everyone is questioning their ordering habits. For me it is going to be business as usual. I will order multiples if items I wish to stock up on or gift and return things I don't like or change my mind on and if they ban me for that I will pack it all up in a box and back it goes. I refuse to feel like a criminal when I have done nothing but spend way too much money at Sephora!!!

I did the same thing last night with 4 orders, if the website allows it then why not?? I'm very close to VIB-R and I only started shopping in Oct. I use a promo code with every order and break them up into $50 orders to receive as much as I can for my dollar.

add_schacko.gif Ban me, I could careless as there are so many places to shop. I have the money to shop anywhere and I vote with my $$. Treat me right and I will increase your stores bottom line, treat me unfairly and I'll support your competitors.

I'm so sorry for those of you who've been having issues with Sephora.  It really does sound like their software is running amok.

The best person at Sephora to contact about these issues is probably:

Julie Bornstein

Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Digital Officer

From working at big companies, I can tell you that it's likely that the customer service people you guys have been talking to have no idea how to deal with the nonsense from the fraud software, and so are just trying to get you off the phone.  They probably aren't aggregating the complaints, because when you work at a big company, very few people actually pay any attention to the CSRs who are on the phone with customers (their job is to take as many calls as possible, not to actually resolve issues), when you work in companies like this the last thing you want to do is go to your boss because there's a problem or issue, and because it's unlikely that there's anything the customer service department can do about the fraud software.  From her titles, I'd guess that Ms. Bornstein has responsibility for both Customer Service and the website, and might actually look into this if she gets a rush of letters all complaining about it.

About those letters:  Keep them short -- try not to go over 1 page in a "normal" size type.  Keep them as impersonal and unemotional as you can -- vent here if you need to, write drafts to get it out of your system, but boil it down to the facts:  I'm a good customer, I spent a lot of money in a short period of time, I buy extras of my favorite products to give as gifts and your fraud system has flagged my account so I cannot place on-line orders.  Your customer service department is unable or unwilling to resolve the issue, so I'm hoping you can determine what needs to be done so that I can remain a loyal Sephora customer.

You guys would not believe the kind of data about you -- specifically and "generically" -- that is available to companies that are willing to pay for it.  In a meeting last week, a company was talking about being able to buy the average credit score for residents at a particular address, and what they can do with data like that.  You can keep calling customer service and asking "why" your account was flagged, but the reality is that there is probably not anything specific that caused it that the CSR can identify.  Any CSR who says it was this or that is probably just making it up to give you some answer and get you off the phone.  Contacting Julie Bornstein is probably your best bet.

@jennm149, thanks!

I took your lead and found this for any other concerns such as the SiJCP point issues...  I've bolded the IT officer as well on our discussed situation.

They really should drop automatically sooner then later, like holds on hotel rooms.

Keep an eye on it, check  again in a week.  If they go through, be prapred to file a dispute with your credit card company.  Take a screen shot of the order cancellations, might be in your account history.

That happened to me during the VIB sale 6 pending charges, they did drop off after 5 or 6 days. And I never got the order I placed, had to make another transaction for that...

oh ok, cause i had to keep fixing my billing info, so i clicked the place order a couple time,  and the system threw me back to the billing page. only one time it went through, and i did receive a confirmation for that one, but now it's cancelled. with that i have 2 pending charges just with that order. i know its confusing...

in my account , it looked like i ordered once b/c i only have one order number, but i was charged twice in pending.

Is this the message people that are banned is getting? 400 I called sephora twice since this morning because of it. Both ladies were super nice. The First Lady said the error was because they were limiting Black Friday shopping to 2 items per transaction ( I had 3 items, not doubles, just 3 items) so I removed an item and still had the error. I called again and asked the girl to put the order through for me, she did, and I think she saw the error when she was processing it. She said she fixed it, and the order went through. I haven't tried to do another order and likely won't until the $20 off of $50 promo gets in. I hope she did fix whatever was wrong. I never make returns, I don't make orders under $25 (except for *once* a couple months ago), and I don't order multiples. Well I ordered 2 of the cat eye brush sets, but one was for me and the other was for my sister- her 2 year old got poop all over her brushes and I was just trying to do a kindness. They are being really unreasonable, and seems like they are targeting a shopping base they shouldn't be. I'm VIB with flash (but will be making rouge this year), so they aren't just targeting rouge members.

I ordered 3 items (not doubles, unless the bliss body wash is a double - despite different scents) and had no issues

Is there something about the CC that everyone is using?  Could the CC company be the one flagging it?

I don't know - this just seems so strange to me.

well, they did say that 3 day shipping could be delayed when I ordered this am.   if you selected 1 or 2 day shipping, you should have gotten your confirmation by now.

I had the same throught!

My credit card company's frozen my account when someone else tried to place 2 $29 orders of some software and they thought it was odd.  Rigthly so, I didn't make those orders.

They did follow-up with a call within 24 hrs. to alert me of possible CC fraud.  Could also try calling CC to see if they ARE indeed flagging the transactions?

I placed an order this morning with 5 of the $10 items (5 different ones, though), as well as a couple of regular items, and didn't have any issues. That's what I mean about the CSRs -- I think they just make stuff up to get people off the phone ASAP because even they don't really have the right info. Many call centers have targets for number of calls per hour or average time per call because they are things that can be measured easily. Their #1 objective is to get you off the line ASAP.

I didn't think it was the item quantity being an issue, but I liked that response compared to being banned! I don't know if it is a credit card issue. The initial card (that now had 7 pending charges...) wasn't used when I called the CSR and she put the order in and still got the message with her. She was able to see everything in my cart, promo and samples included, so I guess if I can't place orders myself- I'll fill up my cart and call it in to place it. Won't get ebates, but whatever.
