What's your job consist of? Any awesome stories to go with it?

I work at a hotel as a front desk associate. I love it. I'm the person who makes your reservations, checks you in, checks you out, gets yelled at (even if things aren't my fault), and smoothes things over. I answer phones, give out directions, and handle the shuttle service we have. I do a lot more but it's a lot to type; I think you get the idea!

I have tons of stories. Most recent dose of awesomeness being one of my consistent guests sent me dessert last night just because I upgraded him! It was so sweet.

I do web design and graphic artistry at home as well as being the Content Manager here at MuT. On top of that I am a mom to 4 kids which keeps me much busier than the other three jobs combined. Before being a WAHM I was a bartender. Yes I do have lots of stories from that. Most of them involved alcohol induced stupidity.

I am an attendant that transports people from Boston to New York City.

As for stories, nothing too fancy. I seem to be the favorite attendant at my work though. I am extremely polite, and my boss informs me all the time she keeps getting call ins about me, even a specific call in about how someone requested me to MIX a club soda and a cranberry juice before, and I was kind enough to do that for them.

Oh... there was one time the bus broke down in Connecticut on 84. Full bus, many people getting rowdy, it was about 7 oclock at night, and the other buses on the highway driving by shook our bus. Everyone was either scared or very pissed off at us. One guy kept coming up to the driver and I and kept saying "This is my first time riding with you guys, and it is my last!".... Yeah, we get it. The driver and the attendants are the people who maintain these buses and we choose these ones we want. No, we don't. We are just as unhappy as you are, because once we shuttle you all out, we still have to wait around for another hour and a half, but please, continue adding fuel to the fire, where complaining will do absolutely nothing. Thanks.... then when everyone gets shuttled over, I go back onto the bus after helping with luggage, and all of our wine was stolen.

....Oh yeah, and one guy kept asking where our boss lived. What the heck was HE planning to do? Go shoot him?....

You sound like a wardrobe stylist... I am a Pro MUA and hair stylist for film and television.

Your valid venting sounds like what they do all the time on set. So I do understand your frustration... Customers think you personally built the thing from the ground up...

@vogueboy, I didn't realize you were also a hair stylist; I have somehow missed that in all these threads! Lol just thought you did makeup.

No kidding. Never knew they dealt with that too. Yeah, it's crazy how people think just because you work somewhere, on something, or with something, that you know the ups, downs, and all arounds of everything within the company, hands on, office work, and clean up. I suppose that is just how it is everywhere in this world I suppose.

Yup, it's from my editorial fashion days. Film hair is a lot different, as you have a more structured style and a cleaner look. Commercial hair is definitely a cleaner look. In the industry, we call, what I do, "a two-for-one" deal. (Two jobs for the price of one person). My fav hair style I love to do on set is the 70's loose wavy curl. My fav editorial fashion hair I love to do is the majorly back-combed, frizzy, then shaped look , with lots of loose strands. I was on the set of NBC's Hannibal the tv series last week doing make-up dailies doing various pick ups for the 13 episodes they already shot. And the Key Hair person was shocked and a bit disgusted with me for prostituting myself for Keying two departments on my tv series "for one low price of..." As she put it. But it was understood how the politics works in this industry.

Ah, well you do what you must. =)

Lol at your wording... "prostituting myself..."

I'm a nanny, I currently look after a 20 months boy. Every day occur somenthing funny, just yesterday, I found the little messy boy busy TO spread one of my favourite lipstick ( fuchsia by sleek) all over his face and in every hole he has!!! This is just one fact among dozen of facts!!! Basically, I love my job because I never get bored!!

I am a therapist... It's rewarding in its own way but can be emotionally taxing at times. I was studying medicine with the goal of becoming a cardiologist but after the clinical rotations in various sectors in the hospital I thought...nope don't want to come here every day. I have so much more respect for doctors and nurses now because it is hard to watch people suffer and some don't make it.

Once while working a round in labor and delivery we had this woman come in full term and the fetal heart rate just stopped. It was the saddest thing watching that family go through that birth and then the aftermath. I went home that day and I was just sad... But of course there are great stories of recovery too!

I also ran my own travel business for a while got licensed and did that part time. I love to travel so I thought it would be fun...It was for a while.

I have also done some work as a makeup artist, mostly while I was in the last couple years of university saving for the huge wedding I had after I graduated.

I'm also writing a fictional novel and I do a beauty blog just for fun :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

process development chemist
What's a process development chemist? Do you make the processes that make certain chemicals? Or are you the chemist in some type of product development process?

I'm a mental health counselor.  I'm currently working in an elementary school as a Behavioral Specialist..lots of stories, but prob more shocking than entertaining lol.  I'm also working on my Master's which I'll be finished next March so that I'll be able to become a licensed therapist after that.  I prob have more stories about my 1 year old, which also isn't very entertaining unless you're a new mom.

Meh, I work insurance. I can't think of any particular story though there are many strange situations that arise from time to time. Before I used to work at a grocery store in not the greatest area & thats where most of my crazy stories would come from. One time, a person attempted to steal steak but was stopped right in front of the service desk I was working. The man took the pack of steak right out from underneath his shirt, took the meat out of the packaging, took a bite out of the raw meat, ate it, & left the rest of it on the counter & walked out. We didn't even report him because we were so in shock of what had happened lol.

I'm just a poor student. Hope to get into nursing school sometime and follow it through, though my interest is dissipating. Fortunately, my boyfriend has a really great job and spoils me when I need it.
