Howdy fellow Housemate! biggrin.gif  Oooh, I cant wait for my order to get here- I hope it's here before Wed (I'm going home for a few days to visit family..and will be verrry far away from my HP soapie goodies if it comes late!)

I thought about getting the Sorcerer's Stone soap, but I ended up passing on it... forget why though. Oh well. I ended up getting two bar soaps besides the Ravenclaw fortune cookie -- In the Loop and Kiss My Vine and the Lemon Macaron bath bomb.

I got the sorcerer's stone (and the horocrux bath melt, and the Chocolate Frog Hydrate Me, and butterbeer body butter, ravenclaw soap... eeeeep!) but I rationalized it was going away soon so...wink.gif  Have either of you used your ravenclaw soap yet?  Does the fragrance linger long after washing your hands?  (which I hope it does...)  Are there any other products from that you'd recommend? (I also bought from the sale section, a Down to Earth Hydrate Me! conditioning bar too, since it sounded cool (& was on sale)

I cant wait for my FCS box to arrive! It looks like LUSH but way cuter!

I haven't tried mine out. Mainly since I wanna save it for a lil while. Still have a bunch of soap to go through. :P But, I got my boyfriend a gift set as part of his Christmas present last year (pretty sure it was the Billy Goats one) and I remember trying it and the scent stayed on my hands for a lil while after, but after like an hour or so, the scent was gone. I'd guess the same with the Ravenclaw one.

I would totally recommend their body butters. They're the first thing I've EVER tried from FCS and it's by far my favorite product. If you don't wanna commit to the full size versions, you can buy a sample set and pick 4 scents that're currently available. I've tried out a bunch of scents this way. (SOOOOO~ tempted to get the full size of In The Loop, much to my boyfriend's dismay, since he doesn't really like food scented products, which made it hard for me to figure out what to get for him from FCS for Christmas.)

I've noticed that since I got my 2 sets of samples (back in December), the price has gone up on the samples so that it's more expensive than the full size. Not sure why though. I haven't gotten a chance to try out the bar soaps or bath bomb I got. Though, I'm pretty sure that if you love the fortune cookie version, the bar soap is essentially a larger version of it.

I wanted to order some fortune cookie soaps and they have changed there site somewhat. Where do you put the $10 discount code from the box? I could not find anywhere to put it in while checking out to redeem it.  Did I miss something?

I placed an order the other day and there was a coupon code box on the last page of checking out (the page that has the button at the bottom that reads something like "check out" or "place order"). I'm used to companies having a three-step checkout (enter shipping info, enter credit card info, review & check out), but theirs only had two steps.

It worked when I tried it tonight, I don't know what the deal was when I tried before.  The $10 coupon included in the summer box did work, although shipping was $8.95, so that was most of the coupon.

Glad it worked for you! My shipping was almost $13, which is kind of crazy (though I did buy quite a bunch of stuff), but I assume it's because they're a pretty small company.

Yeah, besides them having mostly food scents, I HATE the fact their shipping seem a bit high, which I'm thinking is because they do a range of shipping, depending on the amount you buy, besides being a small company. >.< It's also why I try and buy when there's a "free shipping" deal (like ones with no minimum amount attached). Though normally, it's free shipping over $75, I think.

I couldn't find it on the site, which is weird since I've seen it before. But, I put items in my cart and calculated shipping and it's right. It's a LOT of soap. Though you can also get other things from their site, which can quickly add up. It's good if you like stocking up on stuff though. :P

Yeah, I also didn't like the fact that their shipping is so much, but I kind of understand.

I could totally spend $75 there! LoL. My stockpile of bath items is at about zero now, though.

I'm used to buying stuff from a place that doesn't have free shipping until you hit $500.  It's $7.50 up to $150, $12 up to $300, and $14 up to $500.  Smaller companies can't get the deals on shipping that larger companies get, and they simply don't operate on the scale that most of the companies we're used to dealing with.

They're launching another collection this Friday, unrelated to the stuff they sent out in the summer box.  It's apparently based on _Once Upon a Time_, or maybe just magic or fairy tales.  I'm antsy to see what they roll out before I decide on what to order!

It would be easy to spend that much if you were getting body butters, scrubs, perfumes, etc though :)

$75 is cheap in that cheapest postage to the uk is $23.95 so to buy a couple of soaps a body butter ,solid shampoo came to $48 with $10 discount from the last soap box . I'm part of the uk group order group and the latest order for the summer collection for me is $250.94 but most of us order between $70-$258 each time and between 15-19 of us we split shipping usually £5 each customs £4.50 each and the major price from the group host to our homes varies £7.10- £34 depending on royal fail or courier.so we tend to do a big group order for collections limited edition or new season ranges and do a small personal ones with our soap code in between if that makes sense. We prefer to use and pay for a good company and choice of which you don't get in the uk . Also $ 75 in soap as someone else said is an easy spend on scrubs, creams, soap, lip scrubs, perfumes and so on . Compare with say bomb cosmetics or lush its fcs all the way .

Uhoh.  They're prepping a carnival-themed mini collection.  I can already hear the giant sucking sound in my general wallet area.

DANGERDANGERDANGER! It's out now! I haven't looked at it yet, but I have a feeling I'll be ordering this weekend. ETA: Huh. Or maybe not. I don't do solid soap, bathtub stuff, or body sprays. That leaves a sugar scrub, and I think I want a Mother Pucker sugar scrub.

I remember finding a tutorial (need to go to my pinterest board to find it first... I'll edit it in in a lil bit.) that showed how to turn a solid bar of soap into liquid soap. It's a lil bit of work, but ya don't mind it, it could work. :)

EDIT: Found the tutorial and here it is. http://www.thefarmersnest.com/2011/11/liquid-hand-soap-diy.html

I'm allergic to bar soap. It leaves a film on my skin that itches like crazy.

They're having a "Christmas in July" sale over at Fortune Cookie Soaps with some great sounding new Christmas themed soaps and scrubs. Regular fortune cookie shaped soaps (individual ones) are also on sale. I have a whole cart full of things I don't need at all, but the shipping is outrageous this time. The shipping (from Oklahoma to Florida) is more than $18. I just can't do that.

Solid soap makes me itch like crazy, so most of this sale is out for me.  I wish more of the scents were available in scrubs!  There are only two new scrubs in it, and both have Notes of Quease for me (huckleberries in one and banana in the other).  Oh, well.  The summer collection scrubs are the same (regular) price as the sale price of the CiJ stuff, so I'll just get one of those in Mother Pucker (mint and citrus!) and a Don't Be Jelly in Do You Salsa Or Do You Mango? to finish out the summer.  The shipping might be high, but I understand why, and getting a couple of things here stops me from getting *way* too much stuff at B&BW, so I'm willing to pay it.

And I need to practice restraint now since the _Once Upon a Time_ collection is right around the corner, and I have a feeling I'm going to want most of it because I am more than a little fond of fairy tales (oh, Comparative Literature 330, how I miss you!  What a magical time we had!) even if I *am* something like a year and a half behind on the series.

Aww, that's a bummer that they make you itch! I went ahead and ordered a bunch of stuff for presents *cough*and myself*cough* and paid the shipping anyway. The company has been SO nice to me trying to figure this out, too.

Just got an email: Today is the day they're going to launch the _Once Upon a Time_ limited edition collection, and as a part of that, shipping will be a flat $6.95 per order!

    • As aging, more and more spots will appear on the skin, especially on our face. It’s our nature to pursue beauty that all of us want to make our skin looks clean and spotless, so most of us use a thick foundation to cover the spots.   But if we know where the stains come from, maybe we will not be so anxious. Usually there are two key reasons that cause the spots because the pigmentation of the skin is closely related to the melanocytes in the basal layer of the skin: 1. One is that the melanocytes in the base of the epidermis increase, which will form a nest of melanocytes, such as pigmented nevus; 2. The another is that melanocytes synthesized by melanocytes are increased, such as sun spots, age spots, and chloasma.  What results in melanocytes increasing? Besides it’s genetic, the most important reason is from solarize.   The ingredients that can cause damage to the skin in the sun are well-known ultraviolet rays. Among them, ultraviolet(UVB) can act on the epidermis, which promotes the synthesis of melanin particles in melanocytes, the increase of  melanocytes, and various pigmentation problems.   Therefore, more importantly, the most importantly for us to get rid of the spots on our skin is to do the best sun protection that you can.   What’s more, CARE II believes that there’s a little difference for different skin type, so we’d better to know the skin type first.   There are four basic types of skin: dry, oily, normal and combination skin. Skin type is determined by genetics, though it can be change according to the various internal and external factors.   1. Dry Skin Dry skin feels tight and rough and look dull. The only advantage of dry skin is that it’s not easy to be oily. But mostly you feel the skin is tight and it’s prone to peeling, fine lines, pigmentation, and skin aging, because dry skin lacks the lipids that it needs to retain moisture and build a protective shield against external influences.   2. Oily Skin Oily skin is completely opposite with the dry skin and it has a glossy shine and visible pores. Oily skin is prone to greasy feeling, and it’s prone to problems such as enlarged pores and hemorrhoids because of the heightened sebum production.   3. Neutral Skin or Normal Skin Neutral skin is well balanced, neither too oily nor too dry, which is the best skin condition. Maybe the T-zone is a bit oily, but overall sebum and moisture is balanced and not like oily skin or dry skin.   4. Combination Skin As the name suggests, combination sky consists of a mix of skin types. Skin types vary between the T-zone and the cheeks on combination skin, for example, the T-zone is often oily because of the strong oil secretion, which will result in rough skin, thick pores, acnes, but the cheek skin is relatively dry and delicate compared with the T-zone, and there will be dryness, desquamation and even red blood, stains and wrinkles issues if the skin hasn’t be taken care well.   Now you know what kind of skin type you are, right? Here CARE II wants to clarify the advantages and the disadvantages of the four skin types.   Skin Type Advantages Disadvantages Dry Skin Not oil Fine lines, pigmentation, and skin aging Oily Skin Moisturize Enlarged pores, acnes Normal Skin Well balanced Easy to be influenced by seasons Combination Skin The cheek skin is delicate Need to take care separately, the T-zone and the cheeks. If not take care carefully, many skin problems will be caused.   You can take care of your skin by the skin type you are.   Besides the reasons that CARE II mentioned above, there are also other reasons, like make-up dirt, stay up late, lack of sleep.   Some tips for you to get spotless skin: 1) Sun Protection-Shade, sunglasses, clothing and hats provide the best protection     -Try best to avoid the sunshine in the midday     -Check the UV index by your phone, if it’s 3 or above, please do sun protection     -Use sunscreen, at least SPF 30+     -Avoid sunlamps and tanning parlours 2) Cleanse Your Skin Cleanly-Remove the makeup thoroughly     -Cleanse your skin cleanly by CARE II RENEWAL facial cleansing brush. 3)  Sleep Early and Sleep Well     - It’s not only for your skin health, but also for your body health, extremely important! 4)  Massage your skin    - You can use CARE II RENEWAL facial cleansing massager to massage your skin.   Alright, you’ve already known what skin type you are and known how to take care of your pigmentation skin. That’s cool!
