BI : Ticket

VIB: VIBTicket

Rouge: RougeTicket

The difference between the 3 tiers are when the sale date start.

I am rouge and now that I know this is the difference, I will not attempt to re-qualify for Rouge.  Unless the $xx off $50 spend coupon varies widely between the different tiers, with the benefits of Rouge being marginally better than BI and VIB, i.e. free coffee & snacks for 2 hours, Rouge program is now officially a waste of money in my book.

Will be doing as others suggested, get 2 VIB accounts....  so can get 2 $xx off $50 spend coupons.

Yes! This Exactly!! But I have a tip/problem:

I decided early this early this year to just do multi vib accounts, because Rouge seemed so lack luster. I was not receiving points/credit for two purchases I had made at JCP Sephora and contacted FaceBook customer service to get them added to my account. They did some "research" and found the problem...My multiple accounts!!

They so "nicely" merged the accounts and wanted to know what email address I would like to use =( So now I just have my rouge account and although I received some of the missing points, my amount to reach Rouge for 2015 is $926. I've spent over $250 this year but only show $74 =( I have all my receipts but not sure it's worth the headache!

Yikes just had a earthquake in CA....

Scary -- are you near Fontana?  I see USGS shows a small temblor there about 15 minutes ago. (I'm in the insurance biz, so we try to keep an eye on things like that.)  I used to think not having earthquakes was one of the best things about being in NJ ... and then we had one.

As for the whole Rouge thing, I have a second account that I just started.  I used just my first initial, which is the same as my husband's, so if there were ever any questions from Sephora, it's his account.  My plan is to spend enough there for VIB and then stop using it until next year.  I only buy things on-line, so it's pretty easy to keep track.  I do wish they would give us a nice break-out of earnings like Ulta does, but I wonder if they don't on-purpose to keep us from realizing how much we are spending!

My second account is also under my husband's name.

Although I am still working on my original VIB Rouge account...  did not spend enough to even re-qualify for VIB yet...  which should make my husband happy, although now a days, he'd be checking out men's skin care while I shop at sephora, guess he figured he can't beat me with sephora shopping might as well join me!

I can't wait for him to get the jackblack bday gift on his account....  he'd be happy.

Maybe use your hubby's name to open second account and some joint credit card that is under his name?  Just saying...  I don't have a husband as such...

I actually got the multiple account at the assistance of a Sephora SA.  I got my b-day present, then saw the Jack Lube and wanted to get that for boyfriend instead so was trying to trade in my Fresh set for the Jack Lube and she said with a smile and wink just open another account in his name and get that for him!  So I did and didn't have to trade in 'my' B-day present.

Are things okay with the earthquake?

@jennm149 Yes I live in Rancho Cucamonga, so just next door! It was a little one 2.9, but because the center was so close it felt larger!

@FormosaHoney Good idea I will use the hubbys name for my extra account and maybe my mom's, since I have credit cards with both of them....Things are fine here after the quake, just a little on edge because we've had quite a few over the last few weeks.

These earthquakes are freaking me out! I'm just not used to them anymore because it's been so long. There was one about a week ago that lasted for like, 20 seconds. It wasn't big, but it made me realize how unstable the building I was in was.

Gah, earthquakes.  I was in the Nisqually quake in 2001 -- 45 seconds and 6.8, baby, and bricks were falling off buildings just a few miles from where I was sitting -- and *I didn't realize it was happening until my mom called me at work to see if I was okay*.  She lived three hours away and heard about it on the news.  I was in Redmond, just outside of Seattle, where it caused a *lot* of problems including power outages and the aforementioned bricks all over the place.  I think that was the quake that resulted in the closure of the Frangos factory.  It could apparently be felt in SALT LAKE CITY.  When I left my former employer in 2008, the corporate real estate group (my department) was *still* working on repairs and retrofitting.  I didn't notice a thing until Mom informed me that I had just been in one of the biggest earthquakes in Washington state recorded history, at which point I looked at the lighting fixtures and realized they were still swaying overhead.  And there were two others in prior years (I seem to recall them as 1995/6 and 1997) I didn't notice either, although those weren't as big as the one in 2001.  I think the second one was the one where acoustical tiles fell from the ceiling of the Kingdome in the middle of a baseball game, which is in large part how Seattle ended up with Safeco Field and whatever the football stadium is called.  I fear the earthquake I *do* notice.

And I'm Rouge again for next year.  I decided to get the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder (the blush has been OOS for weeks in the color I'd use), and it put me over the top.  It would really be awesome if they manage to get it together with the program sometime in the next year.

Glad all is well for you Cali girls after all these shakes in the last few weeks.  Being so close to ANY quake would scare me!

FYI, logged onto the mobile app to see if there was anything new and interesting, and found this VIB Rouge renewal notice.

700

If you have already re-qualified for VIB Rouge, this should show up next time you checkout on the website.  I believe they are also available in store.  If you re-qualify with an on-line purchase, I don't know if it will add the gift to your bag on that purchase, or if you'll have to wait until the next time you place an order.

Spending $1000 and getting a free $10 nail polish isn't much but, as my dad used to say, it beats a punch in the nose.

Nope still good...thanks ;)

*here is my feed back for the survey:

There where so many people it wasn't fun trying to shop. Thanks for the Starbucks, but cookies and brownies at 9am um no. I wish I hadn't invited my friend...she did get 15% off but that was her perk a few days later and she didn't have to get up early on a Sunday. Just too many people and lots of product was out of stock. Foils? Really? And no gift for my friend? Um not worth the trip...

HAHAHAHAHA I wrote something similar.  That what mattered to me, the 15% off and the cosmetic bag with samples, are the same benefits that VIB enjoyed, a few days later!   Sephora failed miserably if they think the spring event made Rouge program awesome.  And that if future Rouge events are of the Spring event's caliber, I won't be sad if I skipped it.

I am a VIB and I went to the downtown Seattle Sephora yesterday.  Having read this thread, I expected to receive an ugly clutch and several foils of nice skin care, at least.  I received a black and white striped canvas cosmetic bag with red patent accents and strap and a black cloth lining, which I thought was nice.  And, I received one sample - of Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's oil.  I don't know what they were giving to Rouges.

We got the same bag and 6 foils, not sure what they are thinking....I did like the bag and I did get a free rouge mirror, although it sounds like that was not passed out everywhere.

The standard is the cosmetic bag and 6 foils.  I like the cosmetic bag and are also fine with the 6 foils, free is free.

However, Sephora created the Rouge tier, with the $1,000 spend qualification versus VIB of $350 qualification.  I was VIB in 2012 and qualified for Rouge 2013.

I was a happy VIB in 2012, as I felt I got great discounts and great deluxe samples, however, Sephora promised that Rouge would be "So much more" and you do have to spend "so much more" to qualify.  So their reward program as a whole, comparing what benefits are for Rouge, VIB and BI, the Spring Event really isn't much for Rouge.

At this point, I think Rouge, VIB & BI pretty much get the same perks, since BI also get 15% off, like I said before, the only difference I see so far, are

1) when your sale date start (i.e. less chance of things you want being out of stock when the sale is happening)

2) the $xx off $50 coupon

I'd probably re-qualify for VIB just b/c my skincare items and makeup needs each year is about $350.... but I've stopped expecting "So much more" that Sephora PROMISED when Rouge was rolled out in 2013...  which is hopefully what I conveyed in the Spring Event Survey....  :)

Just curious, what were you guys expecting from this program? Besides this event, I've received a free full size Dior lipstick, a NARS illuminator, special codes to use, etc...and I would've spent the same amount at Sephora even if rouge didn't exist. I can see disappointment if you spent 1000 to be a rouge, but I don't think that is the point of the tiers.
I spent 1000 because I buy a moisturizer that is $100, and bumble and bumble hair products, and all my make up at sephora. IDK, I just don't think its that big of a deal, because you spent $1000 on items you wanted (hopefully), not to receive some bonus.

I've received a Nars illuminator and free shipping. Every other special code or extra has been available to VIB, if only at a later date. I can get free shipping from Nordstrom along with better GWP just about anywhere else, it just might be brand specific. I get better discounts at Ulta for most of the brands I use. I just received my 2nd 20% off code and we are barely 4 months into the year and I'm not even a Platinum member (close but not yet). I also get cash discounts for money spent. I understand it's different for me because I don't use any luxury brands but at this point I'm not seeing benefit to consolidating my purchases at Sephora, which I believe is what Sephora was trying to achieve by making a higher tier. Lately the only things I've bought from them have been Sephora specific and unavoidable. I don't feel I'm complaining, I feel I am being realistic as to what options are available to me. Do they owe me anything? No. But I also now have no loyalty to them.

ETA: TL:DR If Sephora wanted to make Rouge something to strive for (which I believe was their intention) the program has failed for me personally.

I was Rouge at the program's debut, so I didn't spend to become Rouge. And the fact that I've already requalified for next year is for pretty much the same reason as you, [@]Playedinloops[/@] -- I just happen to use some expensive stuff, not because I was "trying" to reach Rouge. But that doesn't change my opinion that Sephora overpromised and underdelivered on the awesomeness of Rouge. As others have pointed out, most of the bonuses they've offered require a $35 purchase to get, as well as paying attention to sites like MUT that they are available (many Rouge members have issues getting emails about the program). Obviously, my disappointment hasn't stopped me from continuing to shop at Sephora, but I hope that they take the feedback they've been given to heart.

My issue with Rouge is this. Here is what is advertised as the "benefits" of rouge:

1. Free shipping: Yes, I have gotten this and it is nice. While nice, as Tweakabell mentioned, Nordstrom will give me free shipping without spending 1k first.

2. Access to the beauty studio: NO THANK YOU. I don't want gross testers used all over my face. I've never actually tried this, but from stories I've read it's very hit or miss on whether people are actually being able to use this. I've read numerous stories of rouge people being told they need to spend $50 to get makeup applied.

3. Exclusive rouge events. I've had one in 6 months of being Rouge. At said event, I got nothing that VIBs couldn't get 3 days later, other than a muffin. The store wasn't any less busy than it would be on a normal day IMO

4. Special Surprise Gifts: I have recieved no gifts, surprise or otherwise. I don't consider a code I have to spend $35 to use a "gift". Edit: That's kind of a lie. They sent me a giftcard for participating in the live chat, which was very nice. I'll say I recieved no gifts without complaining first lol.

So is Rouge awful? I don't think so. Is it what they hyped it up to be? No, not even close.

    • I am putting more emphasis on the undereye area. I'm 35 and my skin needs more moisturizing. Twice a day I apply eye serum under eyes, and I never miss this ritual as after several weeks of continuous use I see amazing results: moisturized skin and absolutely no puffiness under eyes. I am using this one from Verneso https://www.amazon.com/s?k=eye+cream&hidden-keywords=B07PPW6J7M&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 Many undereye serums dry out the undereye area and this results in fine lines and wrinkles. Verneso bee venom eye serum contains peptides, vitamins A and E as well as Shea Butter which rejuvenate, tighten and smoothen the undereye area. For me it's the best undereye serum, and I will definetly buy one more bottle during this Amazon Prime Day.
