Thanks!

It's Yves Rocher Loose Pearls-Intense illuminating effect in Nacre Rose. When I'm lazy but want my makeup to look halfway decent I just pat some of that (I have all five colours, haha) onto my lids with a stiff brush and then use a coloured kohl on my rims.

Regarding that blog post - I remember some of that person's posts, she posted under the account "Chelsea Hoffmann: Case to Case", and sometimes I was convinced it was actually two people running that page. Half the posts were friendly, encouraging, and positive, and half of them were incredibly petty and bitter and abusive. I actually ended up blocking the account just so I wouldn't see all the angry, hateful posts because they made me that upset. The blog post is obviously written in a way to completely ignore the bad half, and I don't entirely fault Ipsy for blocking her from the FB page. Deleting her account without warning was definitely questionable, but there is absolutely more to this story than the post implies.

Wow. Just... wow.

I googled "Chelsea Hoffmann: Case to Case" and all kinds of crazy comes up in the results! You have to be pretty "special" for Margie Phelps of the WBC to write an article titled "Why is Chelsea Hoffman so angry?" Considering the enormous amounts of hate mail Westboro receives daily I would think it would take a spectacular amount of effort to even get their attention. There is DEFINITELY something else to the Ipsy story.

I think Ipsy was featuring a Pixi palette as their random ~special deal~ and I just wanted to point out that HL has a pixi palette up for $9 today (ARV $34) http://www.hautelook.com/event/37342pixiandpopwb?sid=57915&cid=default-daily&aid=events

Thanks for the perspective! I randomly came across that post an dwas just like O__O

I agree that ipsy was probably right to block her if she was causing a problem on their FB page. I hope they documented her abusive comment history, like she said, if that was the issue.

ON THE OTHER HAND, it's still incredibly unprofessional of ipsy to just terminate their subscription with her without her consent. Additionally, if she was causing a problem on their social media page, they should've given her a warning first to stop her conduct or else her posts would be deleted, etc. After your account, I don't think she was 100% in the right, but Ipsy (/MyGlam) has had some dubiously professional behaviour in the past. It just sucks because it seems like bad choices on both sides lol

Yeah, wow...I always try not to have a reaction to posts like that (the blog post) because there's always 2 sides to every story and of course everyone is going to post from their own perspective. But...I'll just say that blocking, deleting, and canceling an account is a lot of effort for Ipsy to go to for no reason. I don't claim that Ipsy is a perfect company, by any means...it seems very likely that those innocent "inquiries" she describes were abusive spam, and being spammed with things both on a facebook page AND email (both to Ipsy and Michelle...as if Michelle actually has any part of the day to day operations) if they were done as often as it sounds like DOES seem like a reasonable reason to cancel a sub - they're probably tired of dealing with her.

Oh, I absolutely agree that it was hinky of them to cancel her account - assuming she actually had not received any warnings. But we don't know that for a fact either.

I used to be a moderator on quite a large internet forum/social media portal for teens (Gaia Online) and we would regularly get members making threads in public claiming they'd been outright banned with no warnings and they had no idea why, and rallying up support from other users. And then we'd check their files and review their cases, and they'd received up to four elaborate, detailed warnings for things like trying to sell pornography for site currency, or hacking other users.

I am not saying Ipsy is without fault, but there's always more than one side to a story like this.

Hm, no, I'd still disagree. I think it'd be reasonable grounds to block her on FB, and if she were truly just wondering what happened and posting offensive/spammy messages, they also should've given her a cease and desist reply. It's completely unprofessional to just cancel an account and not respond to any of her inquiries, even if she was acting poorly.

But what I"m saying is, from what I've read, I find it hard to believe she was never responded to. It just doesn't add up.

There are always two sides to every story and there just has to be more to it than this. If all the girl said was that she wanted to do a giveaway of lipstick i just have a really hard time believing they would cancel her account and ban her. It just doesn't add up to me personally

I feel exactly the same. In just a few minutes worth of Googling her name, I found a number of exaggerated claims and outright lies regarding Ipsy. For example, she adamantly claims to have received a full size Benetint in the comments of an article she wrote yet her blog shows a picture of her Ipsy bag with the same tiny sample everyone else that received Benetint got. She also says that she was a subscriber for several months but in actuality she didn't sub until June of this year. She wrote an article on July 31st called "Is Ipsy Ripping Off Its Customers?" so frankly I'm not buying the whole "out of the kindness of my heart" claim on the proposed giveaway post that led to her ban.

Pretty much my feelings exactly (and some of the same things I read). I know Ipsy isn't perfect...HOWEVER, I do think their customer service has been generally decent. This particular month has been an exception...I think because they just screwed so many things up at once and it all turned into a clusterf*ck ...but they have not generally been abusive to customers and it would make zero sense for them to behave in the way she claims. It seems like she's been out to cause drama.

Just off the first page of google results for "Chelsea Hoffman Ipsy", two quotes that cement my belief that she's being completely and utterly disingenuous. She's got a vendetta against Ipsy for reasons I don't quite understand, and a history of baiting and abusing people and then bold-faced lying about things.

Third-party evidence of her being rude/spiteful and then hiding the evidence

Quote: Chelsea was tearing some poor girl apart, telling her to “check out the tapeworm diet†and making other very mean, albeit creative, jabs at her appearance. I never quite got to the bottom of what that squabble was about, but that’s not the important part. What surprised me was that when I, from behind theCrime Library twitter account, asked her what her deal was, several people immediately replied, linking me to other evidence of Chelsea’s mean streak. Chelsea herself explained that she gets angry sometimes and quickly deleted those tweets. (Source)

Direct quote from Chelsea, clearly covering up a misunderstanding with a lie. Nobody received a full-sized benetint. This was also in a post claiming people would be getting a full-sized Revolution lipstick, which we know to be false, and has not yet been corrected or redacted.

Quote: The benetint I received specifically says 12ML on the package -- which is valued at $40.00 (Source)

It's their business than they have the right not to do business with anyone they want or in this case don't want.  She was obviously being a pain in the butt and they showed her the door.  I really don't have a problem with it at all.  A business owner doesn't owe anyone anything and they get to decide who they want to do business with.

I'm pretty sure that article and it's erroneous content are what led to her ban and cancellation. Not because she wrote an article but likely because she was getting nasty about the lipstick issue all over Ipsy's wall. I said it elsewhere and I will repeat it here, some people are not worth the trouble of doing business with them. She is apparently one of those people.

I think this goes for everyone - not just businesses. Some people are just profoundly toxic, or their interactions with you are toxic even if they get along with other people. And even if it's going to lose you money in the long run, your own health and balance and sanity are not worth it, and there is no harm in removing that toxicity from your life.

It took me thirty years to come to terms with this concept, but my life has been much better since.

Oh. Wow. Being in KC, the WBC is practically in my backyard. They are here protesting events and things ALL THE TIME. I was at the Sprint Center the night the Foo Fighters played here last (almost exactly 2 years ago). This was the concert where Dave and the boys put on a little show for all the WBC crazies out front protesting the "devil's music" and whatnot. I didn't see that part of it, but during the concert Dave recited the same speech to us as he did to the WBC, and it was an amazing moment. If you haven't seen the video of it, totally Google it. Anyway, my point is that for the WBC to take the time out of their super busy rock-show protesting fun times to even give this Chelsea person a second thought, she must be a real doozie.

Took me many more years than that, but you're right, life is much more peaceful.
