Your Guess Is As Good As Mine
Greek government, too. This is by far the scariest, from a human rights and what is our world coming to perspective, that I have seen from Europe this week. "Your kids are blonde and you're not" is the dumbest reason I've ever heard for taking kids without cause. If you don't think Europeans still hate Gypsies, think again. Politics seemed like the only forum where this would fit. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/10/26/world/europe/for-the-roma-fears-of-kidnapping-in-europe-only-mirror-their-own.html?from=world

And by the way, my sister, a few of my cousins, and I are blonde and blue-eyed, but nobody in our family before our generation has the same coloring as us. They're all brown-eyed with black or dark brown hair and mostly olive skin, although some of my aunts and uncles are very pale and others look like Indians, eventhough they're from the same parents.

It is in the context in which you used it. Please keep the discussion respectful.

So, following this logic, is it okay to allow usernames using the word "gypsy" (which is a far worse slur (that IS ACTUALLY A SLUR AND ACTUALLY HARMS PEOPLE instead of just hurting peoples feelings))?

Oh wait.

I forgot. looool.

The term "gadje" is an indicator used by Roma people. It literally means "non Roma." It's not offensive, nor is it a slur, unlike the term "gypsy." However, Bflopolska took it to mean offense, which I found to be ridiculous.

(Note: I'm actually Roma, so I know what I'm talking about.)

I do not recall my using that particular word in this thread.

Two wrongs do not make a right; keeping the conversation respectful goes for the use of all derogatory ethnic terms, and not only those used against Caucasians or non-Roma, but those used against the Roma as well. You have blamed an entire ethnicity for causing another harm. That is harmful; it is as harful as assuming a Polish person is ignorant, or a Black man does not care for his children.

Good morning folks!

As @kawaiimeows has already posted a reminder on our main rule, let me step in and remind people that we're a beauty forum. While these types of posts are not disallowed, so long as it doesn't turned into a flame war. At this point in time it's turning into a flame war and that's not allowed. While our main forum rules includes a "be respectful of each other" clause our main site terms of service does include these rules:

Quote: Therefore, you agree not to post, email, or otherwise make available Postings:

  • that are unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, pornographic, libelous, or invasive of another's privacy, or harmful to minors in any way;
  • that harass, degrade, intimidate or are hateful toward an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability;
  • that include personal or identifying information about another person without that person's explicit consent.
  • that are false, deceptive, misleading, deceitful, misinformative, constitute "bait and switch" or impersonation of any person or entity;
  • contain your own or a third party's advertising, branding or promotional content;
  • that infringe any proprietary rights, including copyright, of any party, or Postings that you do not have a right to make available;
  • restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Huddler or MakeupTalk.com sites or the Huddler or MakeupTalk.com services offered on them.

Using a term that's from another language to describe another group can be viewed as violating these rules. The word "gadje" will be viewed as a slur just as "gringo" would be. While gringo is not necessarily a slur it can be used as one just as gadje can be used as a slur depending on the context which is why the term is not allowed. We want people to have a civil discussion however if a civil discussion can't be done then the thread will be closed.
