Fortune Cookie Soap: 2014 Spring Box

Recommended Posts

Yay, mine has arrived as well! I also picked up a sugar scrub because it's leg-shaving time, and I get the smoothest shave I have ever encountered with that stuff (it's hell on razors, but, hey, Dollar Shave Club makes that expense a little less painful to deal with!). I'm going to try the shampoo/conditioner bars now because I'm actually going on a trip this weekend and want to make sure I like how my hair reacts to it before I put this stuff in my suitcase. I tried bumble + bumble thickening shampoo/conditioner (I had a set of foils, and I felt like using up some foils this week) last night and *hate* it. I keep forgetting that one thing I do not need is thicker hair. Thank goodness for hair claws.

I'm so jealous of ya'lls mini sets. I had my first experience with FCS. A girl sent me a solid body butter as an extra in a trade, and I fell in love! Now I want more, I'm on a no buy, and the summer box doesn't ship til mid-May. lol.

I also tried the BaB thickening shampoo tonight and was not impressed. My hair is thick enough! lol.

You should check here since you're on a no-buy.  Trades don't count, right? :)

So even after having a bad experience with them before, i ordered more dry shampoo( their stuff is amazing) and i got it in 3 days unlike last time it was two [email protected] so i will order from them but not when they launch a new line so i know my order will get to me i guess. But look at the size difference (not that its a bad thing) 400400 The biggest one is from their garden of good and evil collection, the second largest is the one i bought it is zero from the nightmare before christmas collection, and the small one is a sample of zero from their soapbox. As you can see their sizes are drastically different [email protected] i love how they changed the bottle, packaging and size though that is a plus :) also it smells just like fruitloops to me ha

For anyone that has ever had something in the "Sally" fragrance from the Nightmare Before Christmas collection, if you remember what it smells like, could you tell me if it smells like coconut to you?

I ordered a body butter in "Sally" and got it today. I was expecting a fresh laundry kind of a smell, but instead it smells like coconut. Nice, but very coconutty. Someone in one of the reviews on FCS's website said it smells like Yankee Candles "Clean Cotton," and it smells nothing like that to me! I feel like I got the wrong scent in here or something.

My daughter got the the soap in Sally in her winter box.  She said it smelled nothing like coconuts & she agrees w/the fresh laundry description of the soap she received.

Maybe contact FCS and let them know.

Thank you for the information!

It's very heavy on the coconut. My mom is here, so I asked her to smell my arm without telling her what the scent was, and she got the coconut right away. Weird! I'll e-mail them and ask about it.

Thanks for the information, everyone!

I wrote to Fortune Cookie Soap and they already sent me a new batch and made sure that it's the Sally scent, so I should get that sometime soon. Nice customer service!

I have Sally - soap and two different bottles of the room freshener - not coconut scented but like fresh laundry/cotton scented. Never had Clean Cotton from Yankee Candles but mine reminds me of when you have freshly washed laundry using something like Sun detergent.

That's the smell I was expecting, the fresh detergent smell. They've been nice enough to send me a new container of the Sally body butter, so this one should smell more like what I was expecting. Plus it'll go way better with my Make It Rain sugar scrub.

Is there a Summer Soap Box thread yet? :) I placed a small order for the whipped cream and roll-on perfume, both in Make it Rain (I am obsessed!), and one of the wooden soap dishes to keep my cookie soaps on until they collapse and are relegated to the soap saver (which I knit myself out of cotton). I have to keep my orders small as the shipping starts at expensive and moves up to ridonkulous with each addition of product. (Canada, sigh.) Love the cuticle butter. The scent is too sweet to be my fave, but far from the worst in the box, and that little sucker is going to last forever!

    • I'm having some backsliding, but still trying! I'm really seeing progress using my full size cleanser, toner and moisturizer. I decided to change my routine. I have been experiencing for a while now some strange kind of boredom. When I'm not working, I really don't have fun any more. I don't get chores done either. I'll just get up, and the time just passes, and my room will be messy with a pile of laundry, and I don't get it done, and it makes me feel bad. I can't focus on reading a book or watching a show or movie. I always feel my weekend is a waste. I'm not having fun when I'm lazy like this either; it feels awful.  I decided to change my routine and fight this state! I told HR I wanted to work on Saturday every week and have Thursday off every week, which makes both my work weeks and time off shorter periods. I'm hoping it will be easier to make the most of time off when it is one day instead of an entire weekend. And I might feel less tired when the work week is broken up. I also made a list of all I hope to do in my days off. I want to have my laundry done, cleaning done, write in journal, post on Makeup Talk [I do enjoy writing], watch a show or movie and read a book, and best of all use a face mask on the two days off!  I'm not using all my face masks at all. I got a flyer from Yves Rocher with some awesome new face masks and scrubs. I really want one, but not until I've used up all the masks I have now! The Thursday and Sunday off will be my special beauty days to use up products with extra relaxing beauty routines.  Last night I went out with a friend of mine and my brother to Family Dollar. While she was shopping, I looked in the beauty section. I enjoyed it. I saw some things I wanted, but did not get, because I don't need them. I saw: Aromatherapy diffuser set with a little cherub. Pretty makeup brushes. I already have a ton. No reason to wear makeup because I always go out with a face mask. I should make an effort to use eye makeup though. I need to care for myself better and put effort into myself.  Skin care set with cleanser, toner, and cream in one box, only five dollars. I think the cleanser had shea butter. I wanted to try it, but have tons of skin care going back to 2017 I need to get through!  After we took our friend to eat, we came out and had a nail in our tire and a flat. The roadside assistance man was really nice though. I got a Car Care credit card and an appointment to get it fixed today. I am backsliding with my debt snowball, but I'm not going to let it stop me. I'm just going to keep going and start over with whatever debt is smallest, being diligent with No Buy/Project Use It Up.  I have been more productive this morning, started laundry and cleaning and wrote in my journal. The more I try the better it will get! Then maybe I won't order takeout so much. I'm kind of looking forward to going to the auto shop, because it will be something to accomplish, and then I'll go to lunch with my brother (less expensive than getting Door Dash).  The first mask I will be using up is my smallest sample, Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment. I have many mini masks from Ipsy, etc. and I believe two full size masks and two full size scrubs, and a box of sheet masks.
    • I guess you should exercise and eat healthy for it!
    • You absolutely tip the student!! Regardless if they have been in the business for 20 years or they are just starting out - they are putting their time and effort into giving you a gorgeous cut/colour that you will love
    • It's awesom to have the national lipstick day could really amazed the women and girls ! They will ove to have different variety of shade and color ...
    • cool, thanks for the tips!  I like all of k-beauty products I've tried so far but I haven't tried any foundations yet. The best foundation I've found is FitMe and it's super cheap but I want to change brands.  FitMe is a matte finish.
