All Around Makeup and Fashion Help

I've always wanted to be one of the pretty girls, in makeup and nice clothes, but I'm afraid. It seems selfish and shallow to me but... I want it. I grew up with a super model sized mother and an opinionated father. By the time I reached my teens I had lost my mom. I'm a bit plus size myself, and not only grew up with the mpression that large cannot be pretty, but my father knew nothing either. I have no idea how to use makeup and I wear t shirts and jeans all the time. I'm afraid to ask anyone in my personal life because I'm the biggest advocate for "looks don't matter." Does anyone have fashion and makeup tips for a size 18 (weight mostly on my belly) young woman with a ghostly pale complextion?
