Memebox Affiliates

Recommended Posts

Apparently they have lists.  I asked them.  They only have a certain number of people on the list.  I thought it was weird because blogs that don't even know about Memebox were getting Memeboxes to review.

I don't mind, though, I do this for fun not to get stuff.  I mean, getting stuff is fun and wonderful, but I'm gonna do it all anyway so it doesn't really matter.

I know - I noticed that too!!  And they never purchase another one after they get the freebie!! lol

I agree - I would review the boxes anyway, regardless.  I do that with my other subs too...

Yep. Same :D  Just got mine, too~

I had to answer the door in my oversized T-shirt/nightgown with my Hey, Honey Take It Off peel off mask (from Ipsy) on my face...   THAT was embarrassing...

I once answered the door to our apartment wearing a clay mask and it turned out to be a police detective asking about a shooting that had happened at the corner the night before. I had heard nothing (and our neighborhood is super safe), so I moved my face in shock and the mask cracked. LOL I took the opportunity when the detective asked my profession or title or whatever (I don't think he believed me at first) to mention that I don't usually look like that. Classic.

Hmm--I wish that the brushes were *NEW NEW NEW* sigh. I'm totally excited to be getting to review them, but I think that my readers' will be sort of like "yeah, the brushes that have been available since forever?" Well, $18 with free shipping is pretty exciting at least. The funny thing is that I never heard that the Memebox shipping times were terribly long from Korea, so I guess the US Memeshop exists for the purpose of free shipping within the US?

It takes me 20 days to get a nonexpedited package from Memebox in Korea to Washington State.  I think that's a long time.  :*(  But the fault lies mainly with the LAX facility.  My box will sit there for a week before they decide to send it up two states.  I thought it would be faster since I'm on the West Coast but nope.

Oh, I did my review.  They're pretty basic brushes.  Not awful but not OMG amazing, either.  I feel really bad that I have a brush so amazing that all other brushes pale in comparison.  If those darned it Cosmetics brushes weren't so expensive, I'd buy  more of them :D

They'll definitely get used and its a great assortment.  For $18 I think it's worth it.

Yeah, I sort of realized while writing my review that if people hadn't used a blogger promo code they could cost $13 with free shipping--that's a pretty awesome price for these, in my opinion.

Ok so I am so excited that I don't know where else to post this...I didn't want to post it in the other threads but thought I would give you guys the heads up since we are all bloggers!!

This has to do with the skinfactory 7 seconds morning sheet...

I contacted skinfactory to see if they had some samples of some of the other sheets they had available, because I am absolutely obsessed with the ones that came in the mask box. I seriously use them every morning! I did let them know I had a blog, and gave them my Media Kit with my blog stats and what not. I told them I'd be happy to review the morning sheets if they were interested. They said they were "happy to send me some samples to review."

Some samples.

This is what I got in the mail today.

I have been blogging for years, and I just stood there with my mouth open in shock, lol. I seriously cannot believe how much they sent me. I will probably be reviewing this stuff sporadically for the next year! They also included lots of paperwork with more information on the products, which is awesome!

Just saying, if you're interested in maybe reaching out to them about doing a review, it might be worth it! I found their e-mail address at the bottom of skinfactory website.

I think I've got like 5-6 sheets left in my original jar so I was elated to see this package today. Seriously I can't believe how generous they were! I don't usually go out of my way to e-mail companies about reviews because I'm so busy, but I was really into the morning sheets so I felt like it would definitely be worth a shot to message them!

Wow, awesome!! It looks like they sent you some really nice stuff!

I was excited to see a lip tattoo product like the one in the OMG box, just in case I get the orange shade. I haven't been buying Memeboxes lately due to a huge lack of funds (my car repairs have drained every last cent from my savings account) so this will tide me over review-wise for a while!

This is a great tutorial I found on how to make a media kit. It was really helpful when I made mine! http://katywidrick.com/making-a-blogger-media-kit/ :)

Thank you so much!  That is a great tutorial :D  I know nothing about this and I've never asked for anything to review before.  Now I need to get a real logo...  I've been loving blogging so much and I'd like to be a little more professional about it.

I am so small time that doing a media kit for me would be too much work!

You're never too small time to do a media kit! I had one (granted it was absolutely terrible) when I first started, and my blog is still pretty small. Mine doesn't look anywhere near as fancy as the one in the tutorial, but it does show my blog stats, demographic, information and background etc etc. It's always good to have one on hand in case you're reaching out to a company to do a review :)

how do you know the demographics of your readers?  Or do you say that you are reaching out to women interested in beauty products, of all ages?

I basically just do that, yea. I mention the demographic of people that my blog is usually geared towards: Women ages 16 and up, mostly from the US. I host on blogger so I don't know about every hosting site, but i am able to gather up info on region/locations etc as well as a few other things, but just fluff it up the best you can like a resume LOL ;)

I will have to try my hand on that!   I just started mine because I wanted to keep track of what I got in my sub boxes - lol

I am a computer programmer analyst by day and a beauty junkie at night.  My hobby is well known at work - haha

When the OMG box was released, I was talking about it and all of the other programmers would google to find the weird stuff - like bull semen products, bird poo, etc...

they are going to be disappointed when I tell them what is in the OMG box!!  haha

it sounds to me that everyone who purchases the Jackpot box will be guaranteed a box worth at least 60.00

there will be 10 people selected which will more value in their boxes, where the 1st place "winner" will get $1000.00 box and so on.

Ohhhh, so it's a box!

>.<

And it's going on sale friday?

Hm...  I'm not sure what I think of that deal since most memeboxes are cheaper and have a better value than $60 to begin with...

yeah, I know.  I mean, if the box was 15.00 or something...

I do think this box is really curated for new customers, as memebox wants us to post this on our social media outlets and encourage our readers to sign up for the newsletter - which makes me think that is what the target audience is.

I did notice they started giving 2 points to sign up again.  $32 is a lot for a first timer to spend on a box, though.

I just wrote an email asking for more details, we'll see if they respond.

I wanted to know how on earth they picked the "winners".

And when it ships.

I'll let you know what I find out (if I ever do).

hmm...this could either be really cool, or really awful.

I really have difficulty recommending these kinds of things to my readers before I even really know what it's all about. I always feel really bad on the rare occasion that something I've recommended is bad or not worth it since I didn't have all the information. You'd think they'd maybe do a little spoiler of what you could get in a box so that we know whether or not it's worth it to share with our readers.

    • No Buy Program Guide   I found a great new No Buy channel on YouTube (well it found me; it was in my recommended videos), a new No Buy channel from a New York concert pianist, Natalia Lavrova. I find this fascinating, because I love the world of classical music. Here is someone in my dream life, who loves shopping, and beauty subscriptions, who has credit card debt, and is doing a No Buy! I'll be fascinated to watch this channel and hear how this artist's No Buy goes as she is preparing for concert tours abroad! Ms. Lavrova has a really good Shop My Stash video with great tips on winter makeup colors, like icy pink highlighter. I looked for her piano performances on YouTube and they are stunning. This is going to be a big inspiration for me!
    • I made it through the night with no buying! I slept through the shopping craving like it was an illness. I woke up after the 12 hours of sleep and as I was waking up I thought of a happy time in the 90's. I was young; all my family members were alive. I was at a Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies, (I love James Bond and don't know what I am going to do when his new film is released, since I'm not allowed money for entertainment on my No Buy). On the floor near my feet was a big bag of Estee Lauder products that I had just gotten with my birthday and Christmas money. I had a full size moisturizer and a huge PWP, beautiful. The film had a great ending. The Bond girl was underwater, running out of air, and just in time, there's James Bond, the theme music resumes! Great scene! And walking around the mall after, how happy I felt! And today I am sad that time is gone, many family members are gone, life is sadder, time is running out, and I did not use that bag of Estee Lauder products up! I probably used them a few times and then threw them out and bought something else. And maybe if I had used every drop, in my mind, I could have held on to life, to time, to happiness. At any rate I would have had more money. If only we knew about No Buys and Project Pans then! This is just one of a million examples of how I think about this.  When I woke up Elle S was still analyzing her samples! She was talking about how her project taught her to evaluate (excellent video, Oct 1, 2017).  Last night in bed I took some photos of samples I need to use up. Sorry for so many long posts, but I've really had to work on this for the last 24 hours. Primers, shower gels and body scrub, toners, and masques.
    • I haven't given in and bought anything yet, though I wanted to. I went to bed early (I think it was 5 pm), and I was listening to Elle S 365 Days of Samples playlist on YouTube. It is inspiring. Elle is detailed, persevering, and creative. I was very cozy, and I dreamed I was going to a spa in Europe. I was so excited about the spa, and about the skin care products the spa was going to have in the room for us. My mother was going with me, and I told her I was going to bring a minimal amount of beauty products in my suitcase, because we would be getting some from the spa. When I woke up I was sad, because the dream was so nice. Now I just woke up and I'm hot and thirsty, but the craving to shop has gone down somewhat. Before I went to sleep I looked in my sample boxes. I saw a beautiful mini lotion with a gold bow on the package that I got for Christmas and had already forgotten about. The glittery gold bow sparkled beautifully in the light.  This while experience today of realizing I have been on No Buy so long without realizing it has been interesting. I have been keeping busy with other things. I began going to a a new religious congregation a month after I went back on No Buy (a different religion I wanted to learn about for a long, long time) and have been busy with that, and have been making new friends and socializing more. The new religion is one that fills my need for intellectual and artistic (through its liturgy) stimulation. I've met wonderful people. It's not always easy to keep going there, as I'm shy and reclusive, but I've kept it up. Maybe this is what made the time go so fast without me knowing it.  I guess I'll go and listen to some more 365 Days of Samples.
    • I'm changing the way I keep track of the time on my No Buy in order to motivate myself more. I didn't realize until today that I'm in month 8 of my second year! Four and a half months until completion of Year 2! I want to finish my mini sample products by June 12, 2020. Here is a partial inventory: Shampoo minis - all used up! Face cream, and face cleanser minis - all used up after a great deal of work and patience!  Mini body scrubs - 1  Mini shower gels - 7 Mini face primers - 8 Mini toners - 9 Mini face masques - 12 I still have to add up mini body creams, hair conditioners, and perfumes. I should reorganize them all to get a new perspective.
    • Today is the test - will I pass or fail?  Two years ago at this time (end of January 2018, on a Sunday), I discovered Hannah Louise Poston videos for the first time. She had just begun her channel. I recalled cleaning my room while watching the videos and feeling very inspired about my No Buy. I was inspired for an entire year, until ... One year ago at this time (end of January 2019, on a Sunday), I was feeling down. The weather was very bad. There was no good food in the house. I started watching haul type videos. I decided to buy something I didn't need. I felt HORRIBLE and just went on a binge. I tried to hard to get back on the path, but couldn't. I didn't get back on the path until June, when I came back with renewed vigor and had huge success for the rest of the year.  I have been thinking, why don't I just let go again, today? After all, last year I let go and did not ruin myself that much, and then by summer, like a miracle, I was back on No Buy and finished all my goals for the year and more. So I'm using that as justification for cheating. I do have shopping cravings right now. Still, I have not used half of the nice things I got on my binge last year. What will I do? Will I relive 2018 or 2019?  ______ Several hours later. I still want to shop. I cleaned a bit while watching the very first video of Hannah Louise Poston, which was published on January 15, 2018 (Introducing My No-Buy Year!). Watching that brought back a lot of good memories. At the 10:00 mark of this video, Hannah was taking about still being in the exciting early phase of the No Buy, with packages still coming in the mail from the last fling before, and it all being new and not the long haul yet. Then I realized I'm not in the early phase, I'm in the long haul now. I looked at my diaries and realized that I am already halfway through the eighth month of my second No Buy year! It has actually been that long since I began again on June 12! I only have four and a half months to complete in my second No Buy year! I really had no idea I was so far along. So while the calendar year is young, it's August as far as my No Buy Year 2 is concerned. The second year of No Buy goes quickly! I still want to shop, but now I am looking at things differently, and may feel less tempted.
