I love Nayley on the stick, but it looks too orange on the paper, so I guess I'll have to wait for the Julep official nail swatches. Lulu is pretty on the stick as well, but looks too pink on the paper. I'm hoping it will be the perfect greyish purple. Those two are my favourite.

I like Liza, but I'm not sure I like it enough to pay the add-on price for it lol.

I like Nayely, Ali, Lulu, Janet and Jahnavi on the stick. I have similar colors though but these pretty spring colors make me want to resubscribe. :)

I really like Ali too, but I am wondering how similar it will be to Shelly. I don't want to buy another polish that is almost the exact same as one that I got in January.

Hi, I'm new - I've lurked every month to see spoilers and finally decided to join, so apologies if I don't post correctly. :)

It looks like March's cosmetic will be lipstick with a future hint of new liquid eyeliners and shadow sticks.

Boxy Ladies posted a great review and sneak peek pics from the Dallas meetup (I think the pics from the OP are also theirs) - http://boxy-ladies.com/2015/02/12/dallas-julep-maven-meetup/

I might go with It Girl.  I really like the color Nedra & I'm curious about the Jelly & Soft Focus formulas.  Also, It Girl would be good because I have too many lip products right now.

I'm also excited to see the new eyeshadow sticks in an upcoming month!

The eye shadow sticks makes me reconsider subbing again. I like that they are doing more makeup now. I cancelled because I had too many polishes but I'd be interested in trying these. The new colors for nails do look cute too. Too many cute things :)

I was so tempted to get the polish lover's upgrade, but I stopped myself because I realized a lot of the colours were similar to ones I already had, just with different finishes.

This is what I ended up with:

It's a nice collection, but I'm not really a fan of pastels so I'll be skipping.  Lulu is the name of my West Highland White terrier, so that was appealing, but the color would just wash me out.

I'm getting the bombshell. It has been long time since I've gotten box. Excited to get some new products- the lip liner.

The lip liner is tempting. I feel like I'm at the point of my life (36) where I have to wear liner everyday. Has anyone ever tried clear liner? Can I wear it with any color lipstick? TIA

I'm in the same boat being 37. My lips look horrible now. :D I wear a liner almost every time. The times I don't, it doesn't look as good. I've never tried a clear liner though.

The lip liner is also my reason to get a box and I like the sunset rose lipstick ... I'm undecided if I should get Ali, Nedra or both. I wonder if Misti will be too similar to Nedra ...

OK I'm in!! Now I just have to figure out what I want with the liner.... Ah life is so tough being me... Lol!! I really like the orchid jelly & what lipstick is everyone vying for? I'm totally open to a new fun vivid color... I'm usually a red or baby pink gloss .. I want to try out something different though...

Skipping.

I like Nayely, but that's about it. I'm interested to see how they do the alternative March birthstone, bloodstone. It should be a deep green with red flecks.

Not interested in the lip or eye products right now.

.

That sounds amazing! Alas, you don't work for Julep: I assumed that "Liza" is the new birthstone polish. It's cut off in some of the pictures, but it says "aquamarine" next to it on the card from the Dallas meet up. (Silly you, expecting consistency from Julep, wrt the whole alternate thing :-) ...)

-Eliza, who was pathetically excited to see her almost-name polish, but now wants a Her Real Name polish with green and blood and stone (and, also, maybe some holo. Because, if I'm playing Queen for the Day, there WILL be holo)

A couple of months ago I just had to pick up the polish with my daughter's name on it. She was even more tickled about it than I was. The name thing just gets me...glad to know I am not the only one.  :)

Do they change the prices in the secret store when they open it to all Mavens (not just ones that took a box for the month)? I could have sworn that when I checked some blogs earlier, the soft focus trio was 14.99, and Nayeley was 6.99. Now they are 19.99 and 9.99. Does Julep always do that? Grr....

I was still able to get the 4 polishes (soft focus trio and Nayeley) for a total of $19.99 after using the TAKE10 code. I'm a grandmothered in Maven, so I don't get to switch out any choices in the box, and I really didn't like any of the pre-assigned box choices this month.

Also, I'm disappointed at the birthstone choice. boo <_<

I've been a maven for several years, would be "grandfathered in" but have instead opted to pay three months @ a time so that I can choose my items. I can still skip anytime - & have many times - but this month for the first time I somehow totally spaced out & totally forgot to customize my box. I sort of know why, there was a problem w/ my billing last month - a screw up on my bank's part - which resulted in my not getting my February box until after the 20th. So...I was annoyed w/ myself but glad that the items in my set box (Boho glam) were at least things I would use & one polish I would have even chosen (Ali). & figured I'd have a chance to add-on a lipstick & the clear liner (I'm almost our if one I have) on coming months. Takes far more than that for me to really stress out, ya know? I only wish it was the worst stress in my life!

But that's just the background...

The crazy part came when I just opened my box. Imagine my surprise when I opened it to find:

Ali (what I thought I'd be getting in Boho Glam box)

Nedra (the other color I might gave chosen had I not spaced out...not what "should" have been in my box)

Get in Line Invisible Lip Liner (yes, the thing I was bummed to have missed out on!)

Creme Lipstick in Primp (again the new lippie...& in one of the two shades that's most "me"!)

Illume in Rise & Shine (the pink shade I didn't get last month & def would gave gotten @ some point as I really like the champagne one)

Perhaps I should space out & forget to customize more often! I was/ am a happy maven:)

Has anyone else had this sort of thing happen?

I know that people get gold/ super-sized boxes on occasion w/ either all polishes or all polishes & products - I received one w/ the polish collection version several years ago - but my "special box" seems so random! I wonder if they ran out of certain things - the polish I "should" have rec'd & the thin liquid liner - & compensated by adding lots of other things? Seems odd though. No note or card/ enclosure of any sort explaining. In my case it worked out great so I am NOT complaining but still rather mystified.

Anyone else have this happen? This month or on the past?

    • I made it through the night with no buying! I slept through the shopping craving like it was an illness. I woke up after the 12 hours of sleep and as I was waking up I thought of a happy time in the 90's. I was young; all my family members were alive. I was at a Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies, (I love James Bond and don't know what I am going to do when his new film is released, since I'm not allowed money for entertainment on my No Buy). On the floor near my feet was a big bag of Estee Lauder products that I had just gotten with my birthday and Christmas money. I had a full size moisturizer and a huge PWP, beautiful. The film had a great ending. The Bond girl was underwater, running out of air, and just in time, there's James Bond, the theme music resumes! Great scene! And walking around the mall after, how happy I felt! And today I am sad that time is gone, many family members are gone, life is sadder, time is running out, and I did not use that bag of Estee Lauder products up! I probably used them a few times and then threw them out and bought something else. And maybe if I had used every drop, in my mind, I could have held on to life, to time, to happiness. At any rate I would have had more money. If only we knew about No Buys and Project Pans then! This is just one of a million examples of how I think about this.  When I woke up Elle S was still analyzing her samples! She was talking about how her project taught her to evaluate (excellent video, Oct 1, 2017).  Last night in bed I took some photos of samples I need to use up. Sorry for so many long posts, but I've really had to work on this for the last 24 hours. Primers, shower gels and body scrub, toners, and masques.
    • I haven't given in and bought anything yet, though I wanted to. I went to bed early (I think it was 5 pm), and I was listening to Elle S 365 Days of Samples playlist on YouTube. It is inspiring. Elle is detailed, persevering, and creative. I was very cozy, and I dreamed I was going to a spa in Europe. I was so excited about the spa, and about the skin care products the spa was going to have in the room for us. My mother was going with me, and I told her I was going to bring a minimal amount of beauty products in my suitcase, because we would be getting some from the spa. When I woke up I was sad, because the dream was so nice. Now I just woke up and I'm hot and thirsty, but the craving to shop has gone down somewhat. Before I went to sleep I looked in my sample boxes. I saw a beautiful mini lotion with a gold bow on the package that I got for Christmas and had already forgotten about. The glittery gold bow sparkled beautifully in the light.  This while experience today of realizing I have been on No Buy so long without realizing it has been interesting. I have been keeping busy with other things. I began going to a a new religious congregation a month after I went back on No Buy (a different religion I wanted to learn about for a long, long time) and have been busy with that, and have been making new friends and socializing more. The new religion is one that fills my need for intellectual and artistic (through its liturgy) stimulation. I've met wonderful people. It's not always easy to keep going there, as I'm shy and reclusive, but I've kept it up. Maybe this is what made the time go so fast without me knowing it.  I guess I'll go and listen to some more 365 Days of Samples.
    • I'm changing the way I keep track of the time on my No Buy in order to motivate myself more. I didn't realize until today that I'm in month 8 of my second year! Four and a half months until completion of Year 2! I want to finish my mini sample products by June 12, 2020. Here is a partial inventory: Shampoo minis - all used up! Face cream, and face cleanser minis - all used up after a great deal of work and patience!  Mini body scrubs - 1  Mini shower gels - 7 Mini face primers - 8 Mini toners - 9 Mini face masques - 12 I still have to add up mini body creams, hair conditioners, and perfumes. I should reorganize them all to get a new perspective.
    • Today is the test - will I pass or fail?  Two years ago at this time (end of January 2018, on a Sunday), I discovered Hannah Louise Poston videos for the first time. She had just begun her channel. I recalled cleaning my room while watching the videos and feeling very inspired about my No Buy. I was inspired for an entire year, until ... One year ago at this time (end of January 2019, on a Sunday), I was feeling down. The weather was very bad. There was no good food in the house. I started watching haul type videos. I decided to buy something I didn't need. I felt HORRIBLE and just went on a binge. I tried to hard to get back on the path, but couldn't. I didn't get back on the path until June, when I came back with renewed vigor and had huge success for the rest of the year.  I have been thinking, why don't I just let go again, today? After all, last year I let go and did not ruin myself that much, and then by summer, like a miracle, I was back on No Buy and finished all my goals for the year and more. So I'm using that as justification for cheating. I do have shopping cravings right now. Still, I have not used half of the nice things I got on my binge last year. What will I do? Will I relive 2018 or 2019?  ______ Several hours later. I still want to shop. I cleaned a bit while watching the very first video of Hannah Louise Poston, which was published on January 15, 2018 (Introducing My No-Buy Year!). Watching that brought back a lot of good memories. At the 10:00 mark of this video, Hannah was taking about still being in the exciting early phase of the No Buy, with packages still coming in the mail from the last fling before, and it all being new and not the long haul yet. Then I realized I'm not in the early phase, I'm in the long haul now. I looked at my diaries and realized that I am already halfway through the eighth month of my second No Buy year! It has actually been that long since I began again on June 12! I only have four and a half months to complete in my second No Buy year! I really had no idea I was so far along. So while the calendar year is young, it's August as far as my No Buy Year 2 is concerned. The second year of No Buy goes quickly! I still want to shop, but now I am looking at things differently, and may feel less tempted.
    • Something amazing for No Buy - Project Pan - Project Use It Up followers - I was reading the comments section of a Hannah Louise Poston video (Lots of Empties, published 1/21/2020) and I heard about a beauty shop called Credo that has a special recycling bin for cosmetics. Apparently if you bring your empties in for them to recycle, they give you rewards points for new things. And you can bring in any empties, not just things from their shop, although they don't take nail polish, nail polish remover, or perfume. Wow, I love that. What an inspiration for us to stay with our projects. There is no Credo store near me though. They are only in the major US cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc., but maybe they will expand. Maybe they will find a way to let us mail in our empties? Or maybe I will take a trip someday, if I am good on my No Buy for a long time ... I could get my eyebrows done at their store too. Who knows. They do have an online shop also and they give three samples with orders. They have beautiful things. I think I will sign up with their site and start saving my empties up (instead of putting them in my neighborhood recycling); this may a coming trend! It's inspiring.  I always read the comments sections of No Buy videos on YouTube. I always find great tips and inspiration.
