Let's discuss the Allure April box  :) What samples are you hoping to receive this month? Any spoilers out there yet?

Maybe new mascara or eyeshadow. This month we got lipstick, blush and powder.We've got to finish painting the face for the summer;) I love that now they promise at least 6 products in every box. Can't wait for a spoiler.

I would love some good quality mineral spf, 30 or more! I just decided two weeks ago to use them everyday rain or shine. So late! I am already 37 years old :-/

MSA posted the following info about the April box:

 

  • The box will include the brands: Bulgari, Fekkai, L’Occitane and more.
  • The total retail value will be $95
  • There will be 7 items!

I just signed up! I figured for $10 (I'm a first time subber so I got $5 off) and with those brands listed it was worth a try! Especially since I've really liked the past few boxes.

Seems kind of boring...wonder what the 7th item will be? 

 

Totally off topic, but what happened to the Beauty Thrills boxes?  Thought we would have one in the works by now.  Has anyone heard anything?

I think so, that's what MSA says.

 

I like the looks of most of it, not to thrilled with the cotz item and the fekkai won't work for my hair but I like the looks of the other products.

Thanks for the info @! I'm still looking forward to the box for the value. The pictured box looks like a good one even though I probably won't use all of the items. It's a bummer that there won't be a 7th item though.

My credit card was charged yesterday, hopefully will see the box with all the items next week.

Yes, first they stated on their website it would be more samples, then corrected.

I am not too excited about the box but will use a couple of things. I don't like those mini fragrance, never to my taste :(

Received my box yesterday, there was no 7th item in the box.  But every item in there was of good size and very nice in person.  The perfume is nice and in a cute bottle.  DDF product is very nice, and the L'Occitane is better than the little samples you get from Sephora.  I am happy with this box.

 

It is kind of funny, but Allure sent me an email yesterday letting me know that box was on its way and I was opening my April box at that time!!

I got my shipping confirmation on the 4th.  I am experimenting with their option to redirect your box to another address. In this case I have sent my box to my Mom's place on the west coast. (I live in and East Coast state.)

Hmm I see people are getting their boxes, but I don't have a tracking number yet.  

I did not get tracking until after it showed up in my mailbox.  It may just show up like mine did.

You're right, the mail man brought it today! 

 

I'm a little indifferent about a few items. I won't use the glossing cream and the mascara is meh. I love DDF and curious about the shower oil. I'm not sure about the perfume. Usually the "mature" scents smell good on me. Will see!

I have been subscribed to this box for over a year, maybe even two years now, and never switched to the "new" billing people. I think it's ridiculous that I would have to do that after they told me I don't have to do anything. Then there was that whole extra box debacle that happened two months ago or so. I did not receive the extra box any of the months that got sent out.

 

So on February 16th I sent them an email saying they should not treat their long time subscribers worse than people who just signed up. If anything, they should try and keep their long time customers to stay subscribed! I got a generic "thanks for reaching out, we'll contact you shortly" message. Well, they didn't get back to me, so on March 7th I wrote back saying that it's pretty crummy customer service to not get back to someone after almost a month.

 

They finally replied on March 9th with another generic "the free boxes that are mailed out monthly from Allure Beauty Box are mailed to a small selection of customers chosen at random" which is not true. They didn't even bother explaining the issue with who I am being billed by. I specifically addressed this issue in my initial email too.

 

Cut to today (April 6th)--I got a reply to my initial message saying that "we will have a love box sent to you". I am not sure what that even means, and again, none of my initial questions or complaints were answered. Just a very weird scenario. Guess I'll see what I get.

I agree with you 100%. I was like why do I have to change over when they specifically said no worries we will handle it all. But then everyone who switched go special extra boxes. That was enough to convince me to dump the beautybar billing and just re sign up with Allure. It's stupid but, I don't think sub boxes (generally) reward long time customers. 

 

Stitch Fix has been the only box who's sent me extra items (note books, totes) for being a long time subscriber.

    • I didn't tryied the vitimin C serum cream for my skin, I think it very harsh when you are using it at your skin so it would be hard for me to have it I will try something else..
    • Today was pay day. I paid $22.90 extra on my credit card. I realized I'm now halfway done with my goal for the month - to pay $100.00 toward my credit card (including minimum payment). It's halfway through the month, so I am right on track! I made a $30 payment last week. I got deodorant, the only beauty item I need to replace. I ended up not getting the fancy new Secret or an Avon set, but just regular Secret Paris Rose from Dollar General. It was $5 - I thought that was a little high in price. I had this deo before during my No Buys, so it's a tradition. I didn't feel like spending extra or taking the time to order online. Too lazy to fill out the order pages! I sure am out of practice shopping! 
    • What am I wishing for right now? Yesterday I was looking at the Yves Rocher French website to see if they have anything new that might come to the US. I found something to love, but not a thing this time. In France, Yves Rocher has special salons. They have some fabulous sounding treatments. One I really fell in love with was an eyebrow treatment. They put eye patches under your eyes, then while those are on, they shape the eyebrows. After all is done, they apply an eye cream. That's what I'd love right now, and I suppose I could copy it at home with what I already have. 
    • It feels like it has been January for a long time, but we're only halfway through the month. There's still time to do a lot of things this month!  I have some empties! I finished my three DHC foil packets, the two mini micellar waters from my Yves Rocher Advent Calendar, and my Neutrogena Shampoo mini.  Now using up: June Jacobs Green Tea and Cucumber Shampoo mini Freeman Cucumber and Pink Salt Masque packet MAC Strobe Cream mini in Pinklite - This is a really nice cream that has a bit of pink color corrector and a bit of luminosity. It's great for a no makeup routine! Very pretty, and feels wonderful on the skin. I got it in an Ipsy bag.  I had the Freeman cucumber masque in my project use it up in January 2018. Now I have another one to use. There is a lot of product in the packet. It is enough for several weeks of use. But it is a clay masque, so it gets dry and messy in the packet. I recall having a hard time using it all up before. So I opened the packet all around the edges, and used a spatula to transfer the contents into an empty jar so it will stay fresh and be easier to use up. I'm looking forward to using it with my new masque brush! I will be having some fun masque and movie nights!     
    • The best concert I have ever attended was by Bohemia: the Punjabi Rapper. He was in Delhi (Lajpat Nagar) He is my favourite Artist and Rapper. When I saw him for the first time, my soul felt bliss ❤️ All the crowd of fans were going insane about him I can't forget that moment and want to attend more and more of his concerts
