Birchbox July 2016 spoilers

Meh. Not loving the featured box enough to get it. Is that Milk item the same one that came out in a recent Play Sephora box?

I love mascara but I get so many of those Benefit tubes. Seriously who hasn't tried it by now? I would maybe be interested if they offered it in brown. I could really use a brown mascara right now. Black just doesn't look natural on me. I have to be wearing a full face to pull it off. Lets face it I'm not going to be doing that much in ninety degree weather.

OK-- I am glad there is an additional mascara option than what we saw. I will get Smashbox and the curated box on my 2nd account to get those last 50 points before closing it. I received that Elizabeth Mott mascara maybe a year ago and it was actually pretty good for a brand I didn't recognize.

Ok, so I am finally out of BB, no more subscription.  Finally got them to cancel and refund me.  I still have $25.00 to spend, I better spend it before they take it away from me!  But on a different note, the curated box has some very nice items in it!

The sample choice date is June 29th and 28th for early access. Just wanted to put it out there for people who don't want to watch the video (myself included). :)

Definitely going with the smashbox x-rated for this month, I'm going to stay subscribed just to see what other changes are going to be made.

They consolidated my points--I sent an email via the website. I was surprised that they did it so easily with no back-and-forth; I was prepared to go ask on FB. Time to cancel my sub. How sad :(

Yeah, FB was where I was able to get them to do it.

Sample choice is open. What are you picking? I picked the curated box, but am so close to canceling my subscription. I don't like any of the samples too much.

I picked Benefit because it's my favorite.  I am hoping they have Bobbi Brown samples of some kind since that's new to the shop.

I picked the Marcelle mascara. Mostly because it's a brand exclusive to Birchbox and I've already tried 3 of the samples in the featured box. I think I can trade for the MILK which is the only sample I'd actually like to try from the featured box. I'm a little over getting shampoo and conditioner in my Birchboxes, tbh.

I'm going to be kinda grumps if my sample choice box ends up with more products that are the same (but not really in the Birchbox world)...like different scented coola sunscreen and such...

I picked the curated box.  I thought about just canceling but I like all the products in the curated box and I guess I'm just not ready to cancel yet.

I love the Marcelle eye makeup remover, so I chose the mascara. Also I have samples of the other two, and I really don't like They're Real! (I'm in a minority, I know, but I've tried using it a few times and found it clumpy and it made my eyes slightly irritated. I tried a few different tubes too, so I know it wasn't just a bum tube. I think my eyes are getting more sensitive as I get older - is that a thing that happens?)

I got the Marcelle as well because that's the only mascara I hadn't tried yet and the curated box didn't really appeal to me.

same here.

it's my last normal month with BB. I will still purchase LE boxes and might sign up for a box here and there and then cancel, but yeah.  BB - good long run, good luck in the future

Is any one else getting a billing error occurred error message??  The only reason I ask is because it will not let me edit the billing information.

Holy hamrolls, my July box link is already loaded!!!

I'm getting:

Shiseido ULTIMUNE EYE Power Infusing Eye Concentrate

Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate

Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl Mascara

Dr. Jart+ Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer

Davines This Is a Sea Salt Spray

COOLA® SPF 50 Sport - Mango

(in light of the 5 review lifetime cap going into effect this month, it seems kind of a dick move for Birchbox to make this month's box a 6 item one...)

In spite of the points change, this is actually a pretty good box for me. I'm sure one of the Shiseido products is a foil, but that's ok, it's a high-end brand and one I like. The Marcelle was my sample choice. I'm super excited for the Dr.Jart; I've been hoping Sephora would release the water drop as a deluxe sample promo or points reward or something, so getting it in my BB is even better. The Davines I already got in this summer's LE box, but it's a product I like. The Coola is the only product I really don't care about - thanks to Birchbox I have the entire skittles rainbow of Coola scents.

    • I used Tinder some time ago, but I don't really like it these days. There are so many bad and fake profiles... I like using some other dating services. I am sure that you will find something interesting and really working for you, good luck with it
    • I'm having some backsliding, but still trying! I'm really seeing progress using my full size cleanser, toner and moisturizer. I decided to change my routine. I have been experiencing for a while now some strange kind of boredom. When I'm not working, I really don't have fun any more. I don't get chores done either. I'll just get up, and the time just passes, and my room will be messy with a pile of laundry, and I don't get it done, and it makes me feel bad. I can't focus on reading a book or watching a show or movie. I always feel my weekend is a waste. I'm not having fun when I'm lazy like this either; it feels awful.  I decided to change my routine and fight this state! I told HR I wanted to work on Saturday every week and have Thursday off every week, which makes both my work weeks and time off shorter periods. I'm hoping it will be easier to make the most of time off when it is one day instead of an entire weekend. And I might feel less tired when the work week is broken up. I also made a list of all I hope to do in my days off. I want to have my laundry done, cleaning done, write in journal, post on Makeup Talk [I do enjoy writing], watch a show or movie and read a book, and best of all use a face mask on the two days off!  I'm not using all my face masks at all. I got a flyer from Yves Rocher with some awesome new face masks and scrubs. I really want one, but not until I've used up all the masks I have now! The Thursday and Sunday off will be my special beauty days to use up products with extra relaxing beauty routines.  Last night I went out with a friend of mine and my brother to Family Dollar. While she was shopping, I looked in the beauty section. I enjoyed it. I saw some things I wanted, but did not get, because I don't need them. I saw: Aromatherapy diffuser set with a little cherub. Pretty makeup brushes. I already have a ton. No reason to wear makeup because I always go out with a face mask. I should make an effort to use eye makeup though. I need to care for myself better and put effort into myself.  Skin care set with cleanser, toner, and cream in one box, only five dollars. I think the cleanser had shea butter. I wanted to try it, but have tons of skin care going back to 2017 I need to get through!  After we took our friend to eat, we came out and had a nail in our tire and a flat. The roadside assistance man was really nice though. I got a Car Care credit card and an appointment to get it fixed today. I am backsliding with my debt snowball, but I'm not going to let it stop me. I'm just going to keep going and start over with whatever debt is smallest, being diligent with No Buy/Project Use It Up.  I have been more productive this morning, started laundry and cleaning and wrote in my journal. The more I try the better it will get! Then maybe I won't order takeout so much. I'm kind of looking forward to going to the auto shop, because it will be something to accomplish, and then I'll go to lunch with my brother (less expensive than getting Door Dash).  The first mask I will be using up is my smallest sample, Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment. I have many mini masks from Ipsy, etc. and I believe two full size masks and two full size scrubs, and a box of sheet masks.
    • I guess you should exercise and eat healthy for it!
