Ipsy September 2016 Spoilers!

Recommended Posts

According to my subscription addiction everyone will get one of these. They are:

-Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme

-Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara

-Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Liner

-IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara

I'm personally hoping for anything but the Eyeko Liner!

I'm good with any of those but the Tarte. I've tried that mascara before and hated it. The annoying thing is when I get Tarte products I rate them well because I generally like them but not this one. I hope that doesn't make me a shoe in but I feel like it does.

I'm kinda hoping for the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme. I have very thin and small lips overall. Which is probably good because I have a small face. But, I do like using lip plumpers just to give a temporary fullness to my lips from time to time.

I cancelled my ipsy for this month, and looking at the spoilers has validated that decision. There's nothing that particularly stands out to me. I hope everyone gets at least a few of the items they really want!!

I got my new chip card in the mail the other day and I had a notice from ipsy that I needed to update my card info. I thought it was a good time to just end my subscription.

Today I checked out the product list and there are so many interesting products- dry conditioner, vanilla almond crumbles exfoliator, a Christie Brinkley product...Ipsy you have sucked me in again lol!

Hopefully my bag is awesome *fingers crossed

I just wanted to throw out there for the others that get antsy like myself, the ipsy website says "check back on 9/6 to see what's inside your glam bag" so I'm guessing that's the universal reveal date now? I'll obviously keep checking because I can't help myself and want to see if they're lying to make me wait, but we'll see. Will keep everyone posted.

Glam Bags are live! I kept my main account and gave the extra account to my Mom. Sadly I like her bag better. I'm surprised she didn't get more anti-aging creams since I changed her age and had her re-take the quiz before the beginning of the month. Though I guess my reviews from previous months still influence it and our coloring is very similar.

My Bag

Amie New Leaf Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish- I'm not much for scrubs but this one sounds nice. It's made for sensitive acne prone skin. It also has rice in it which my skin really loves! It is scented but at least it smells like oranges which is a fragrance I actually like!

Make Beauty Skin Illuminator in Llos- Birchbox sent me the Face Gloss from this brand before and I was not impressed. Even though I do like highlighters I don't have high hopes for this.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Clay Eyeshadow Palette in Smoked to Perfection- I get that I have green eyes and these are great colors for me but I just can't get psyched about e.l.f. products. I have several high end palettes with the same type of shades in them. I just can't see myself reaching for this over them.

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme- I was alright with any of the guaranteed spoilers except the Tarte mascara. I wouldn't have minded trying the It Cosmetics mascara though. My lips are already full so I don't notice much with these products but I'm willing to try it.

Naked Cosmetics Naked Advanced Aloe Cream- Well my skin will be getting chapped soon due to cold weather so at least I know I'll use it.

Moms Bag

Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask- She loves hair products and has very dry hair so she'll be happy to get this!

Waxing Kara Sweet Lips Honey lip Balm in Clear- Another great pick for her! She loves honey and is a lip balm junkie.

BellaPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Autumn Glow- I actually really wanted this for my bag because the color looks perfect. My Mom loves blush but I'm not sure how she'll do with the fact it's loose. If she doesn't like it for some reason I'll trade her for it.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Nail Polish- Regardless of which color this is she's not going to like it. She does her nails weekly but goes for nude or earthy colors.

Tarte Cosmetics Lash Paint Mascara- She always wants mascara. I personally hated this one when I tried it but she may like it.

Overall My bag is meh I'm not super excited about anything but if a product works well for me I'll be happy. My Mom's bag should be at least a 4/5. I think the only thing she will definitely give an instant thumbs down to is the polish because of the color. I missed out on quite a few products this month I would have liked. The Dr.G BB Cream, Trust Fund Polish, and of course the BellaPierre Blush. Also I'm sorry my posts are always so long.

I'm excited about all that I am getting, except the moisturizing mask. lol. But after looking at the other options, I didn't see anything I was really crazy about. The bag is super cute too!

They stayed true to the 6th!

So I'm getting two of the things in my "wishlist" for the month!

Pixi Lipstick - Yessss!

Dr. G Daily Safe BB in Fair - Wish there were color swatches. I prefer medium to full coverage foundations, so we'll see.

It Cosmetics mascara - Yessss.

Be A Bombshell polish - Scared of this one. I'm hoping for Va Voom. But I'm not a fan of this brand..

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day - I like trying new stuff for my hair.

Overall, 3/5 with a possible 5/5. We'll see!

There are a ton of products I want to try this month as usual my bag is just OK

The tooFaced lip injection is just gloss to me, I don't care for plumping lip items. meh

Onomie serum is meh. I'll use it but I'm not excited about it.

I like blush but the Bella Pierre brand is like BaB over done to death in Ipsy (and other) subs. I think I'll like the shade though.

Nuxe is fine, I like moisture masks but I got a sheet mask last month.

I like living proof but I'm not super excited about the 5 in 1 product. I'll use it.

I'll use all of my bag but nothing is particularly exciting to me.

Wow - this is the happiest I've been with my bag in a while!

Eyeko Liquid Liner - I wear black liquid liner everyday, and this one is new to me!

It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara - I've heard great things!

Onomie Powerful Priming Serum - I've never heard of this but it sounds promising.

Nuxe Moisturizing Mask - I'll take any extra moisture I can get :)

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 - I've been wanting to try this since I heard about it but I've never gotten around to it.

For the first time ever I was able to see my bag ahead of time without having to do sharing on Facebook etc. I never share so I always wait for the bag to arrive. The preview shows shipping starts 9/9

I'm pretty disappointed in my bag but it may change when I have it in hand.

e.l.f. palette

Too Faced lip injection...I'm kind of excited for this but I expect it to be tiny.

ulta3 nail colour in sizzling red. I've never heard of this brand so we'll see.

Eva NYC forget me knot dry conditioner. Sounds interesting.

trestique mini highlight stick. Another highlighter just what I don't need/want  <_<

I'm pretty happy with my bag this month:

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme - excited to try.  I'm happy I didn't get the Eyeko.

Trust Fund Beauty nail polish - excited to try

Living Proof PHD Styling Cream - excited to try

Nuxe Moisturizing Cream - may swap because oils sometimes break me out, but may keep for times when my skin feels super dry

Seraphine Botanicals blush/lip stain stick: will probably swap because the color doesn't look like one I'll use

Ipsy posted my bag today because my card was charged late. I'm getting-

Too faced lip injection, excited to try!

Avene hydrating serum, love this brand!

BaB nail polish, I am not a fan of this brand but if I get the Va Voom shade I'll be happy

Bella Pierre blush, the shade looks pretty but can't say I'm excited for this

Clark's Botanicals moisturizing, another great brand!

There were a ton of products I wanted this month that aren't in my bag but I'm still pretty happy with it.

    • I haven't given in and bought anything yet, though I wanted to. I went to bed early (I think it was 5 pm), and I was listening to Elle S 365 Days of Samples playlist on YouTube. It is inspiring. Elle is detailed, persevering, and creative. I was very cozy, and I dreamed I was going to a spa in Europe. I was so excited about the spa, and about the skin care products the spa was going to have in the room for us. My mother was going with me, and I told her I was going to bring a minimal amount of beauty products in my suitcase, because we would be getting some from the spa. When I woke up I was sad, because the dream was so nice. Now I just woke up and I'm hot and thirsty, but the craving to shop has gone down somewhat. Before I went to sleep I looked in my sample boxes. I saw a beautiful mini lotion with a gold bow on the package that I got for Christmas and had already forgotten about. The glittery gold bow sparkled beautifully in the light.  This while experience today of realizing I have been on No Buy so long without realizing it has been interesting. I have been keeping busy with other things. I began going to a a new religious congregation a month after I went back on No Buy (a different religion I wanted to learn about for a long, long time) and have been busy with that, and have been making new friends and socializing more. The new religion is one that fills my need for intellectual and artistic (through its liturgy) stimulation. I've met wonderful people. It's not always easy to keep going there, as I'm shy and reclusive, but I've kept it up. Maybe this is what made the time go so fast without me knowing it.  I guess I'll go and listen to some more 365 Days of Samples.
    • I'm changing the way I keep track of the time on my No Buy in order to motivate myself more. I didn't realize until today that I'm in month 8 of my second year! Four and a half months until completion of Year 2! I want to finish my mini sample products by June 12, 2020. Here is a partial inventory: Shampoo minis - all used up! Face cream, and face cleanser minis - all used up after a great deal of work and patience!  Mini body scrubs - 1  Mini shower gels - 7 Mini face primers - 8 Mini toners - 9 Mini face masques - 12 I still have to add up mini body creams, hair conditioners, and perfumes. I should reorganize them all to get a new perspective.
    • Today is the test - will I pass or fail?  Two years ago at this time (end of January 2018, on a Sunday), I discovered Hannah Louise Poston videos for the first time. She had just begun her channel. I recalled cleaning my room while watching the videos and feeling very inspired about my No Buy. I was inspired for an entire year, until ... One year ago at this time (end of January 2019, on a Sunday), I was feeling down. The weather was very bad. There was no good food in the house. I started watching haul type videos. I decided to buy something I didn't need. I felt HORRIBLE and just went on a binge. I tried to hard to get back on the path, but couldn't. I didn't get back on the path until June, when I came back with renewed vigor and had huge success for the rest of the year.  I have been thinking, why don't I just let go again, today? After all, last year I let go and did not ruin myself that much, and then by summer, like a miracle, I was back on No Buy and finished all my goals for the year and more. So I'm using that as justification for cheating. I do have shopping cravings right now. Still, I have not used half of the nice things I got on my binge last year. What will I do? Will I relive 2018 or 2019?  ______ Several hours later. I still want to shop. I cleaned a bit while watching the very first video of Hannah Louise Poston, which was published on January 15, 2018 (Introducing My No-Buy Year!). Watching that brought back a lot of good memories. At the 10:00 mark of this video, Hannah was taking about still being in the exciting early phase of the No Buy, with packages still coming in the mail from the last fling before, and it all being new and not the long haul yet. Then I realized I'm not in the early phase, I'm in the long haul now. I looked at my diaries and realized that I am already halfway through the eighth month of my second No Buy year! It has actually been that long since I began again on June 12! I only have four and a half months to complete in my second No Buy year! I really had no idea I was so far along. So while the calendar year is young, it's August as far as my No Buy Year 2 is concerned. The second year of No Buy goes quickly! I still want to shop, but now I am looking at things differently, and may feel less tempted.
    • Something amazing for No Buy - Project Pan - Project Use It Up followers - I was reading the comments section of a Hannah Louise Poston video (Lots of Empties, published 1/21/2020) and I heard about a beauty shop called Credo that has a special recycling bin for cosmetics. Apparently if you bring your empties in for them to recycle, they give you rewards points for new things. And you can bring in any empties, not just things from their shop, although they don't take nail polish, nail polish remover, or perfume. Wow, I love that. What an inspiration for us to stay with our projects. There is no Credo store near me though. They are only in the major US cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc., but maybe they will expand. Maybe they will find a way to let us mail in our empties? Or maybe I will take a trip someday, if I am good on my No Buy for a long time ... I could get my eyebrows done at their store too. Who knows. They do have an online shop also and they give three samples with orders. They have beautiful things. I think I will sign up with their site and start saving my empties up (instead of putting them in my neighborhood recycling); this may a coming trend! It's inspiring.  I always read the comments sections of No Buy videos on YouTube. I always find great tips and inspiration.
    • Hi, lottie. How would you be able to dry brushes that fast? Mine take a day to dry
