I admit I fell in love with the gold boxes and resubscribed. I am looking forward to picking the scrub mitt in the sample choice.

I'm part of the beta program where you can choose to skip an item and choose one so I chose that option this month instead of making a sample choice. I'm not really interested in any of the 3 sample choices maybe because I feel like I have too many samples at the moment. I ended up choosing a makeup item as a BB cream for the box and leaving out a fragrance sample. I don't need any fragrance samples right now and I love BB creams. I use them almost daily in place of a foundation.

Well despite my August box fiasco. I stayed on and bought the featured box and picked the leave in treatment for a friend.

I'm not happy with Birchbox and their terrible shipping partner choice.

I got an email today that if you use the code doublefun, you will get five extra samples in your first box. I'm still not biting, but it was tempting!

Oh birchbox! They messed up again. 3 months in a row.

This time they left out my sample choice and sent me the other two. Problem is I already have the mascara because of a previous screw up on their part.

I'm growing very unhappy with Birchbox.

I didn't select a sample choice this month but chose a makeup item instead (BB cream) and didn't get a BB cream sample. I did get a makeup sample which was a Pixi lip gloss and I've tried it before and really like it but I'm disappointed that I didn't get a BB cream since I had the option to select it. Other items weren't really that exciting except the Oribe matte texture cream. I'm excited to try it. Overall an ok box but I'm just disappointed I didn't get the sample I had chosen as part of the Beta program.

That sounds bad. Did you contact them @@Reija? Are they sending you the correct product (BB cream)? Hope they do.

I didn't contact them, I just let it go. I probably should have but I figured the Oribe cream sample made up for it. It's a good size sample and I love the Oribe line and use their products. I just reordered the shampoo from BB with points. Oribe products are expensive but with points it's somewhat doable and they last me a long time.

My September Birchbox was part meh (Marcelle, Supergoop), part exciting (the pretty box with the gold, the face scrub mitt, and a really pretty little Arrow eye brightening pencil).

    • Major beauty packaging companies decided to launch paper cosmetic tube for the consumers. These tubes are more eco-friendly.  This was  announced at  Luxe Pack Monaco. Major plastic part will be replaced with a bio-based, paper-like material.  Production is expected to start  in the mid of 2020. The replacement of plastics is environment friendly and  a cardboard-based tube will be a good achievement to save environment.
    • Hey guys! I want to make a great gift for my girlfriend, has anyone used this nail polish set from Aliexpress? What do you think? it is a good choice for a gift? Nail Polish Set. Thanks!
    • I made another payment on my credit card, and the remaining balance is now $140.  Yves Rocher Beauty Advent Calendar so far:  Day 1 - Sel D'Azur perfume - I've been wanting to try something from Yves Rocher's extensive line of new perfumes. This one is meant to evoke a walk on the Amalfi coast, with citrus and sea salt.  Day 2 - First Snowflakes Shower Gel - One of the new limited edition holiday products. This is lovely! It's white almond, but less sweet and more powdery than the Perlier White Almond, which I also love. I might have to get the big bottle!  Day 3 - Cream shampoo with avocado - also a new product I haven't tried yet. Very good shampoo that brings out natural waves.  Day 4 - Four sided nail file - A good file that really is effective.  Day 5 - Micellar water for sensitive skin.  Day 6 - Clear base coat for nails.  Day 7 - Face cream for sensitive skin.  I had a really hard time going back to work after Thanksgiving. But after Monday, it's been quite slow, thank goodness. They are allowing people to volunteer to leave early. I never do, even though I feel tired and burned out, because I'm so focused on my financial goals. I have been watching a vlogmas on You Tube from the channel iseedee. This is a Swedish girl who is frugal yet glamorous, and has inspired me in my No Buys. Her vlogmas (or Christmas Countdown 2019 as she calls it), is simple yet so beautiful and cozy. She is so organized, and really knows how to celebrate the holidays. She makes a simple Saturday of doing laundry and going grocery shopping seem special. I guess she personifies what you would call Hygge. iseedee is going through The Body Shop Beauty Advent Calendar. She has the big one with the full sized items. This is the only vlogmas I've been keeping up with.  I've been Christmas shopping (for other people, not for myself, lol), and also I'm going to be organizing the buffet at my church later this month. So I don't think I can pay any more on my credit card until Boxing Day. That's the day I am hoping to pay it off!!! After that I might buy myself a little treat or two, and then organize my plan for the New Year.
