Oh, geez.

That's really how I can most appropriately begin describing this new job. 'Oh. Geez'.

I expected hard work, I like hard work. I'm fine with that part. I expected rude customers. That's all right too, I've worked in food business before. The two major complaints I have with waitressing in a small town is that I'm working 40 hours a week and I'm bringing home 100 dollars... And the second being I work with too many younger women that think they're the high queen waitress.

One tells me I look awful any time my hair starts to frizz. One refuses to even acknowledge me when I speak to her. Another is only nice to me when her 'frizz complaint' friend isn't around... Geez. I feel so abused by the end of the day and I'm hardly able to pay for gas money to even get to the job.

The managers are nice. I love the managers. There's one in particular that dotes on me whenever we cross paths, he's so sweet.

Ugh. But I mean... I've worked a job before where it was ALL men my age, the only problem there was that I kept getting propositioned every time I went to a quiet area of the restaurant. I think I prefer that to, 'D*** girl! You look like crap!"

Yeah.

I needed to rant. Sigh. In a couple hours I have to go back to the grind stone.

That sucks! Sorry you have to put up with that. I hate that women are so mean to each other.

I hope that it gets better. And that the tips are good! Have to have money, not only for gas but for more makeup! :)

That cannot be fun! Sorry you have to deal with that. But that's how some women are...maybe they will warm up and see what a sweetheart you are and then feel like jerks for being rude!

Sorry it has been so hard, hopfully things will get better. Somtimes on a new jog the other employees may feel threatend or somthing by the newbee...

Hi Era,

Sorry to hear the job's turned out to be so unpleasant. You may have to start planning to find another so that you may get yourself out of the awful situation. Colleagues can be such a pain sometimes.

that really sux, sorry you have to deal with that!

you might want to start looking for another job to which you'll enjoy going to

I've taken this step a few times myself.. and it was so worth it!

right now i work as an executive assistant in a marina and as a nail technician from home.. and i'm loving both!!

Hang in there, as well as you know of the good amount of work you put into the place, you should give yourself a pat on the back. Never mind people like that, they might have problems that they haven't dealt with, it's not your problem, atleast you tried being nice to them...

Are there casinos where you live? I am a Table Games Dealer and we make a comfortable income and the job is really fun

I am sorry your job hasn't turned out so great. Hopefully, you can find something else pretty soon or these women will change their horrid attitudes. People can be so rude and hateful sometimes!

That sucks! I'm sorry to hear that! I just don't understand why there are people who can be so mean to the others.

so sorry about your situation. don't let them get you down, though! i like to think that at the end of the day i can "brush my shoulders off" and be myself again. start exhaling at the door before you leave and leave that crap they give you right there with them. be honest, do you really want these people in your head? no way!

Doh, sorry this happened to you. But usually the first few weeks, people are like a pack of wolves. Hopefully they will accept you soon, other wise it will be an unhealthy work environment.

I really do hope it gets better for you! Hang in there.
