So my father has volunteered me to give one of his "friends" a makeover. She is

African American in her 50s and I'm just not experience in completing makeovers for older women. I'm going to go to CVS to pick her foundation. Do you have any suggestions? Are there certain types I should keep an eye out for? Liquid or powder? If I do liquid should I still do a powder press on top?

You could use a liquid foundation with a light dusting of a loose powder.

how dark is she? with african americans the type of foundation can vary based on the skintone..But I personally use only creme for african american skin tones.

I think powder might cake on older skins, so liquid would probably be best. And nothing too glittery for the eyes.
