Whats the best mascara you've ever used??

Recommended Posts

When I was college age, in the 1980s, I remember going to a Lancome counter for the first time and having my makeup done. The beauty advisor selected a mascara called "Stylocils Mascara Precis" for me, which had the narrowest, thinnest little brush. She advised this would work best for my lashes, because they were short. I thought the mascara was so unique, and I felt so glamorous and elegant with it--it was my first luxury mascara. I think that was my all time favorite mascara. It was very easy to use. I'm very nostalgic about the beauty products of my younger days. In the present, I don't know what my favorite is. I have 15 mascaras, all from beauty boxes and gifts with purchase. I'm using up Cover Girl "Katy Kat Eye" now, as I believe it is my oldest mascara. I got it in the August 2016 Target Beauty Box! But this does not really answer the question of this thread ... there are so many mascaras, I don't really know which is best. Every week they invent a new type of brush.

Check out Lash Boost from Rodan + Fields. Within weeks of consistent usage, this will help grow out your natural lashes and make them look even better with the right mascara. :)

I love Benefit's "They're Real." For smoother application, I hold the tube in my armpit to warm it up as I'm applying the rest of my makeup. I'd use my cleavage but I'm lacking in that department.

I want to tell you about my pleasant find - Korean mascara. I ordered the mascara on the site  koreakos.com. Very good quality mascara! It is not showered, is not imprinted on the eyelid, moisture resistant and grease resistant. With her your makeup from morning to night will be perfect. It separates well and lengthens the cilia, gives volume. But personally, I lack a little more rigid fixation and twisting, as my eyelashes like to be confused. I recommend to pay attention to this mascara!

I’m really loving L’OREAL lash paradise. They had a 3 pack at Costco recently for $17.99! I’ve tried all the expensive brands and this is one of the best drugstore mascaras I’ve tried. Good luck!

I would say Benefir Roller Lash https://www.benefitcosmetics.com/uk/en-gb/product/roller-lash

Lancome Grandiose https://eu.feelunique.com/p/Lancome-Grandiose-Mascara-10g?

But I ve also heard that YSL Shock is also amazing https://www.scrooge.co.uk/s/774961/Ysl-The-Shock-Volumizing-Asphalt-Black.html

Has any of you girls tested it?? Any feedback? Also should I get the waterproof or the original one? I noticed that the brush differs.

I used to love max factor ones and some of the L'Oreal ones, but the formula has either chsnged, or my lashes just need more now. They've gotten shorter with age, and my swollen eyelids hide a bit of the length under the swelling. Recently bought L'Oreal Miss Manga and find it very impressive. No fallout, nice lift, lots of volume and length. Not clumpy imo. Easy to remove. Naked eye in second pic for comparison.

Definitely the clear mascara! It looks very natural and doesn't smash around eyes. Maybelline New York is always my first choice, but here's the list of very good ones. They are not expensive and do the great job.

    • Hey! I don't really use primers but I'm sure someone else who will come across this post might be able to answer!  For the oily skin, I would recommend putting setting powder on your face, mist it with setting spray (Lightly) THEN apply foundation.. give that a try. Also a great tip for oily skin is use waterproof mascara instead of normal... as normal mascara will transfer onto your under eye area over time and upper lid due to oils.  Also Mac foundation has great coverage for any blemish and scarring. I'm just looking on google now and it seem to highly recommend Charlotte Tilbury's airbrush foundation.. I know that brand is more on the pricy side.. but its worth checking in store and getting one of the girls there to do a test on your skin before purchasing.  Hopefully theres something useful you can take from this. let me know if you come across other tips that work!  x  Linda

    • Cleansers Just like you wash your hair and body, it’s important to use a cleanser (made just for your face) to wash your skin. Rabach recommends cleansing twice daily. “Cleansing helps remove dead skin, reduce oils in acne prone skin, remove buildup of bacteria and yeast that live on the skin, remove pollutants that collect on the skin during the day, and remove all makeup, so pores do not get clogged.” she says. We think that’s motivation enough.   Toner First things first: if you want to keep your routine quick, skip this step! If not, we like a toner to: 1. truly make sure the skin's got a perfectly clean canvas post-cleansing and 2. either add hydration or exfoliation to our routine. Dr. Rabach recommends making sure your toner is oil-free.   Serum Serums are one of the best ways to address your personal skin concerns. "A VIta a to Zee Vitamin C serum is a skincare product designed to deliver a high concentration of a specific active ingredient to the skin," dermatologist Dr. Zeichner says, adding that they're usually designed to "perform a single job, whether that is to hydrate, protect, brighten, calm, or even the skin." It's important to make sure you're choosing a serum that's actually right for you. One thing dermatologists agree on is using an antioxidant serum (like Vitamin C) in the morning.
