Hey girls!

I'm sure this has been answered a million times already so please feel free to direct me in the right direction, i just wasn't sure what to search for to find them.

What is the best thing to use to stop my foundation from melting off during the day? I use tinted moisturizer (Laura Mercier) and my skin soaks most of it up during the day. Just need something to make it last and stay looking fresh, or present! lol. I'd like something that looks natural and still gives me that dewy, effortless no-makeup look.

Is loose powder, some sort of fixative after the makeup is done, or primer something to use, or what are your tried and tested recommendations?

Thanks

You could try a primer (I've never tried one but I've heard about people who get good results from them)

(there's some links)

Or you could try a powder. I use Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder over my foundation and that keeps it on all day. If you want to keep it natural looking you could try translucent powder.

Hope I helped

It could be the foundation. I use Revlon ColorStay, and it is the only thing that I have ever tried that stays on my face.

I'd rather not change foundation as I am happy with this one. I just need to find something to keep it from sinking into my skin so much.

Using a primer and setting it with powder are two things that I definitely have to do to keep my foundation staying on all day and looking flawless.

The best things you can do are to use primer beforehand and powder to set.

However, longwearing foundations like Revlon Colorstay and Estee Lauder Double Wear make a huge difference. These longwear foundations are the only way for me to keep foundation on my face all day (12+ hours).

My best combo for making foundation last has been using a good primer first (fave: Smashbox photofinish) and the spritzing my face with Model in a Bottle spray after the makeup is all done.

i use marykay foundation and covergirl foundation. wonderful foundation cos it stays all dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

love it.
