Which is better?

I ordered a Solia 1-1/4" but after reading reviews on the Sedu it sounds like a good flat iron too. I haven't got it yet to try it, but I was wondering which one is best? Also is the 1-1/4" a good size or should I have got the 1in? I plan to try to curl my hair with it if I can figure out how. I had a Chi 1in. but didn't like that it had no temp control and always smelled like my hair was burning.
