I know we are supposed to put some type of moisturizer when we first put on lipstick but do you personally need to put on lip balm every single time so that the lipstick glides on?

I find that I have to whip out my chapstick before I apply anything to my lips and im so lazy, its like an extra step. lol

For me it depends on how dry my lips are. If they are not too bad I just skip that step.

Nope, only when my lips or the lipstick are kinda dry, otherwise its straight to slapping it on. If it is a color that is sheer I will usually use primer.

I don't do it every time, only if it's necessary because my lips are super dry. I usually wear gloss not lipstick, so I rarely do it.

Yes, because mine are always super dry. But i'd advise you to apply a light coat and to do it before everything else, so it has time to sink in.

But honestly most of the time, i just wear lipbalm, i don't feel comfortable wearing something else on top of dry cracked lips.

A cheat i like to do is use a tinted balm like Burt's bees pomegranate lipbalm, or my lovely Nuxe baume prodigieux (the clear golden one).

I usually do because my lips are pretty dry. If it's a matte lipstick then no, not really... I just make sure my lips are exfoliated really good.

I'll do it sometimes if I know the lipstick won't look good on my lips are they are. Colours that are lighter than my lips like MAC's Hue rarely look nice unless I really exfoliate and moisturise my lips.

I usually use a hydrating plumper before I apply lipstick... Otherwise I'm using lip balm when ever I'm not wearing lipstick..

I always do. I have this insane lip balm addiction. If I don't have it on, I feel naked. And I find that my lips peel/feather if I apply lipstick without lip balm first...

If it's a matte lippy then I have a lip wax (from ModelCo) that I put on first. It's fantastic stuff and stops your lipstick from feathering while keeping your lips feeling moisturised.

I always do, no matter what. I'm a chapstick addict thought so it probably doesn't help my cause. I guess my lips can't heal or create its own moisture if I'm over dosing them with chapstick.

Hmm.

I didn't know we are "supposed" to do that, lol!

I rarely ever do and only because my lips are already dry or even do it afterward for the same reason.

I use Nivea's lip care products, though, never a regular balm.

I have hard enough time keeping my lipstick on, don't need to make it any slipperier and my lipsticks aren't drying. If I get one that is drying, it generally gets tossed or at least forgotten about.

I always do it before I apply anything, even lipgloss. Not a thick layer though, just a very thin film of balm that'll sink in by the time my moisturize has sunk in for primer and foundation.

I use lip gloss most days so dont have to... But when I put on lipstick, I do always apply lip balm first.

depends, not if I am putting on lipstick because I feel the lip balm makes the lipstick more susceptible to falling off more easily. If I am just applying a lip gloss then I will put some on if needed.

No. I've never applied lipbalm before applying lipstick. I mostly only wear lip balm if my lips dry or chap.
