Orange Lip Trend

Recommended Posts

I've always loved orangey reds, so I'm lovin all these new flat out oranges. I very fair, a red head (like a new penny) and have green eyes. I think orange looks better with warmer tones of skin though.

Yes its in!I have never worn one, so I decided to get since my collections are mostly pink nude based lippies.I got MAC Ravishing, the colour is nice, but I find its bit sheerish on my pigmented lips.So I opted for MAC So Chaud 5 similar to Morange°, still Im not sure how it shud be worn.Check out the pic with my sista, Im wearing MAC So Chaud & MAC Ravishing in single pic

LOVE IT! It seems that all the "out there" shades marketed by Mac are cool toned, i.e. Lavender Whip, Blooming Lovely, Intricate, Petals and Peacocks, Lady Gaga, Show Orchid, Riveting.

I am so glad to see an "out there" trend that is favourable to warm toned gals!

And p.s. I tried the lipglass "Ember Glow" from the Spring Forcast collection, and it didn't show up as splotchy on me as it did on Temptalia. I really look forward to wearing it!

Sexy Sadie, orange seems to be your color! Keep rocking it!

Hi,

An option for a wearbale orange lip would be to try Covergirl's new line of glosses called ShineBlast in Fire (see pic below). It has a nice golden shimmer added to it to really make the orange "glow" on your lips.

I think that a straight orange lipcolor is hard to pull off, while orange based lips would be easier...I can't see me wearing straight orange on my lips unless I want attention,lol...

I was SOOOOOO close to buying MAC So Chaud, but I want Lady Danger first! I heard it's a tad redder than So Chaud.

For those who want to ease into the orange lip, Revlon has a new one out called Siren, and it's the softest orange lipstick I own. Doesn't get out of hand quickly at all.

I love orange and orange reds and corals... somehow they look better on me than pinks. I think i'm pretty warmed toned..so i guess i'm better off with oranged based lip colors

here is one of my past fotd wearing MAC morange together with MAC's tomorrow's coral lipstain as a base

I'm the same way, i have yellow undertones so corals and orange-y shades look good.  So do tawny colors if they aren't too dark.  I think the morange is really pretty, i will have to take a closer look at mac next time.   The only problem with oranges are that they can make your teeth look yellow.  I think the whitening mouth rinses work really well so it's not a problem and a cheap fix.

I am an NW45.  I am dark skinned African American, who has red undertones.  I could never find a nice coral to coordinate with my reddish undertone.  Any suggestions.?  I've tried Impassionate and Entice by MAC.

maybe try Vegas Volt, it's more coral than orange and pretty vibrant.

    • You absolutely tip the student!! Regardless if they have been in the business for 20 years or they are just starting out - they are putting their time and effort into giving you a gorgeous cut/colour that you will love
    • It's awesom to have the national lipstick day could really amazed the women and girls ! They will ove to have different variety of shade and color ...
    • cool, thanks for the tips!  I like all of k-beauty products I've tried so far but I haven't tried any foundations yet. The best foundation I've found is FitMe and it's super cheap but I want to change brands.  FitMe is a matte finish.
    • I mostly prefer k-beauty products. I use Missha foundation, I have been using this from last 3 years. It has different shades we can choose according to our skintone. And also I have suggested this to my friends and cousins, they all are every satisfied with this products. I always prefer to shop from Althea beauty store for all k-beauty products, because it provides best discounts on products.
    • I have been backsliding, but backsliding in a better way than before. The money has felt tighter than normal lately. I decided not to be too hard on myself, because part of that was from losing my second job due to COVID. Also I joined a new church, and really want to keep up with the tithing. That has become important to me. I found I need to tighten the budget and cut back on too much takeout/delivery [Door Dash is my vice]. That's hard for me. I was not budgeting well, and I found myself the week before Father's Day with not enough money for gifts and food that week, so I opened a new credit card. I used that to buy gifts and food, then some more food and takeout. I feel really badly about that.  BUT my old self would have just kept the card, and gone shopping for beauty items with it too, and I would have given up on my No Buy/Project Use It Up. NOW I caught myself after about two weeks of this backsliding, cut up the card, took the card number out of the computer. Because if it's there, it's too much temptation. And I kept right on using my old beauty stuff, I was not even tempted to buy new beauty stuff, just food!  Now I will wait for the bill for the new credit card to come in the mail and work on paying it off. The fact that I am rebounding like this instead of going back to my old behavior is a really good sign! I do need to work on the eating out. Getting Nutrisystem was not such a good idea. The dry food is hard to eat and it is pretty expensive too. But I will keep trying to change my food habits. Until now, I have not really had to do that to achieve my goals. We're moving into the higher goals now.
