So currently, I'm interested into exploring the world of mineral makeup. I've encountered minerals before and the experience was defintely one not to forget (in a very bad way). I ended up looking "ashy" and did not feel like ever bothering with minerals again.

I have an olive skin tone with yellow undertones and wanted to know if any of the darker skinned girls ever tried mineral foundation?

How did you like it?

Chelle

Hi Chelle

I'm actually really pale (Irish ancestry plus living in the UK so rarely see the sun

)but have tried several mineral companies that might offer what you want.

Firstly EGM (website earthenglowminerals dotcom - sorry, can't post links as I'm still too new so this is the only way i can write it!)they offer a huge range of shades in a variety of finishes so I'm sure you'll find something there that would suit you. They do samples as well - and I've been really pleased with the foundations and eye shadows I tried. In fact the only thing I'm not keen on it the website as it's a bit clunky when you're trying to find things!

The other website you might want to visit is Milan Minerals (milanminerals.storesecured dotcom)as my understanding is that they actually specialise in make-up for darker skin tones. I've only just ordered some samples so I can't comment on the quality and customer service - but samples are reasonably priced and if that's all you're ordering, shipping is free. And they have some great looking eye colours as well so I went pretty mad and now just wish I had more eyelid to play with!

Anyway, I'm sure if you do a search you'll be able to get some feedback on both of these companies - and probably some other suggestions as well. And good luck with the search - hope you find something that works for you.

Well I did the whole online sample thing and I didn't like any of them. I tried Pur minerals, loved it, loved them, and the rest is history. The good thing too, is that they always have discounts online and ulta sometimes has them on sale. So it's a good time to stock up then.

Pure Anada has shades for women with color, too. The coverage is quite heavy, so a little goes a long way. There are samples being offered at their site.

Beautiful sites of fashion. thanks speerrituall1,

I browse the first one site recently or bookmarked the other three.

Having dark skin and going through everybody I'd say hands down try EGM (Earthen Glow Minerals) the foundation is to die for. The site is down now but email them for a free foundation kit in Light Brown to Medium Brown (If you're my complexion). It comes with a lot of different samples so it will give you a big choice. I ordered by email last week and my order came yesterday.
