You would think they should let it go because she's only 10 and it's for her charity but the laws are the laws. It sucks because she's so young and it's for a good cause but if they allow her to keep it online without payment, then what about the next kid who uses it and so on. I feel bad but it is what it is. Poor kiddo.

 
I had always thought that all movies, music video and writing becomes part of the public domain 20 years after it is put out there.

That would mean that the Charlie Chaplin music would be part of the public domain too.

There is a stipulation where music, images and books can be renewed by the original copyright holder. I can't remember it off the top of my head, but I do recall that from when I was still doing graphics.
