Find Your Perfect Moisturizer

Tomorrow is the first day of December, and unless you’re lucky enough to live somewhere tropical like Hawaii, it’s probably starting to get cold outside. I absolutely love winter, from snow days to Christmas! But with chilly weather comes one downside – talk about dry skin!

The combination of my normal facial soaps and the cold, dry weather makes my skin itchy and flaky. Luckily, moisturizers hydrate skin, making your skin smooth again! Of course, there are so many moisturizers on the market it can be hard to know which one is right for you. Use this helpful guide and make sure you stop up for winter!

If you have oily skin…

If your skin is oily, it might seem counterproductive to add even more product to your face. But remember, even oily skin can be dry in places! Try getting an oil-free moisturizer to cut down on oil already on your face. Boscia Oil-Free Daily Hydration is a perfect choice. Not only will it help irritated skin, but the built in SPF will protect your face from the sun.

If you like your products to multi-task…

For those of who you like to cut down on steps in the morning, try using tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. Tinted moisturizer has all the benefits of normal moisturizer but also adds a bit of color for a more light-weight wear than normal foundation. Never tried tinted moisturizer before? If you’re on the lookout for something cheap, try e.l.f.’s Studio Tinted Moisturizer. At only three dollars a tube, you can easily stock up as often as needed!

If you have sensitive skin…

Adding dry skin conditions to an already sensitive face can make things very uncomfortable! It’s important to find facial moisturizers that won’t react negatively. Try Burt’s Bees’ Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream! It’s made with natural ingredients and is scent-less, so there’s less harsh chemicals that’ll bother your sensitive skin!

If you’re acne prone…

No matter how old I am, I still get pretty bad acne! I’ve found that using a moisturizer that promises acne relief has really cleared up my skin when paired with my favorite acne-fighting soap and toner! There are lots of great options on the market, but I’ve really enjoyed using Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. It’s oil free and contains salicylic acid to help control blemishes. However, unlike most drying acne lotions, it keeps my skin hydrated – all for a great drugstore price.

It may be tempting to slack on your skin care routine, but as we start these cold months, it’s more important than ever to use moisturizer. Which moisturizers do you use? Share your thoughts in the comments!
