MAC vs Sephora

MAC   Sephora

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90

Why MAC might be the best:

  • MAC Pro program.
  • MAC is an industry standard. Makeup artists are expected to have it.
  • Quality products in sleek or beautiful packaging.

Why MAC might not be the best:

  • You are limited to one brand of product.
  • Lots of Limited Edition products which may be discontinued.
  • Customer service  isn’t always as friendly or helpful as it should be.

Why Sephora might be best:

  • You have access to multiple high quality brands.
  • Sephora Beauty Insider and VIB Rewards System.
  • Samples are offered with or without purchase to try new products.

Why Sephora might not be the best:

  • Too many products making it hard to choose.
  • Many brands sold there are expensive.

Final verdict:  Sephora is the winner! MAC definitely has impressive products with beautiful packaging, however most people have chosen Sephora as their favorite of the two. The biggest reason that swayed the vote is that not only does Sephora carry their own brand, they carry many other high end brands. For all of us that are makeup addicts, being able to slowly browse a store full of different brands, styles and products is much more enjoyable than only having one brand to choose from. We have to get the most out of our money so shopping different brands gives us choices.Another big plus is the friendly and helpful staff that you will usually find in Sephora. They are generally always willing to help you find stuff, color match, recommend products, and hand out samples of other products.
