$1000 Challenge

Thanks to the recent issue of Shop Etc., I've been inspired to ask everyone to find $1000 worth of fashion-related stuff you'd buy. In the magazine, they feature one pricey piece or say 2 whole outfits.

So, what would you buy w/the fantasy play $$$? Find pictures & list prices of what you're lemming. Here's what I'd get:

$1000??? I would go to all the malls in the nearby large city and buy TONS of items on sale! I'm trying to convert my wardrobe from typical college student to young adult / professional, but it's hard when I don't have a lot of money and it's hard to find my size! I would have to find at least one good suit; the rest would go towards various separates for work and casual wear!

But I love finding a good bargain... I just realized today, that I was wearing one of the trendiest (casual) outfits I own, and every item I had was on sale or very inexpensive:

Jeans, on sale for $15

Denim blazer, on sale for $20

Scoop-neck fitted t-shirt, $10

My "sexy" (or I think so) yet comfortable black boots, $25

Black belt, $10

Black purse with fun "hardware", on sale for $15

Likewise, the other day I went to the mall and bought 2 purses, a sexy "date night" shirt, 4 casual t-shirts and tanks (some just for layering under other shirts), a nice sweater for work, the denim blazer, and a new bra all for a total of about $170!

If I could find a suit for $100-150 in a store like JC Penny's, I could make the rest of the $1000 go a loooong way

Hmmm, ok so I was checking out stuff on the net I'm looking to buy and I'm almost ashamed to say, there wasn't much under $1000. So here's the only things that were not over $1000(there are a few pairs of shoes I'm thinking about, but they're all $500+) So all of these things together add up to about $1000(maybe a couple dollars over-I know I have a shopping problem I just wish I had less expensive taste)

I knew you had great taste. My cousin worked at that winery a while back so I used to get hooked up. Now, I am hooked on it. I will buy it for special occassions only and it is worth every penny.

I love turquoise too! That and seafoam green are my favorite colors! (Like thos capri's Jess posted... wear em' in a heartbeat & have probably about 20 matching tops to go with them! LOL)
And it didn't like my Macy's pics either! LOL

I'm slowly collecting turquoise clothes, and the other day I got an awesome turquoise purse with black trim for only $15! (Very similar to the brown purse I posted.) I've always thought blue was my best color, with my cool skin and blue eyes, and turquoise is just a very fun shade of blue!

However I make it a point to wear a lot of different colors and probably only wear turquoise or blue once or twice a week -- I don't want to be known as the girl that only wears one color! lol
