1st time fake tanner - do's and donts?

Ok so apart from a spray tan in 2005 (which was good for a few days then sunk into my pours and covered me in lil brown spots), I have never used fake tan, but I would quite like to at least do my arms, if not legs to look less white!

I'm a big gal so I'm not keen on the idea of creams cos I'm worried about stripes. I wondered if the home spray ones are any good?

Most people say at home tanners - least the spray ones - are hard to get a good even coat. Possible faux tan wipes would be better to get an even coverage.

I've tried them all and I think the at-home tanning mists work the best, but you HAVE to get an application glove. St. Tropez makes one and they sell it at Sephora for $6 but you can probably get one at a beauty supply store I'd imagine. http://www.sephora.com/tan-applicator-mitt-P278310?skuId=1298314

The glove makes all the difference in the world. Just mist the tanner on your body in small sections, for example top of arm, bottom of arm, left side of chest, right side of chest, etc. Use the glove to evenly distribute the product. This keeps the tanner OFF your hands, which was my biggest headache about self tanner. You can do the backs of your hands while keeping your palms clean, so no washing necessary.
