I heard on the news that a lady lost over 100 pounds by eating almonds for a snack everyday and still maintains her new weight by eating a handfull of almonds everyday.

 
She was on a healthy diet and I think it took her 6 months. She was an diet monitored by her doctor and did moderate exercising.

 
I've heard excellent things about almonds, and I *love* them, so it's all good! I'll check and see what my mom has to say - she's the one who told me.
