Hi ladies!

To those who do smokey eyes, do you still apply blush? If you do, what shade would you recommend that won't draw attention away from your eyes?

Thanks in advance!

I'll use a bronze coloured blush usually like MAC shooting star MSF or MAC Margin or sunbasque blush

That's a good question. I would apply a light peach blush to the apples of your cheeks. Maybe try Rimmel blushes? Or Maybelline? I don't own any high-end brands. But these should work okay.

I agree, this was a good question...

I usually do a light application of fuschia w/ my 187 brush for cool e/s and a peachy one if it's a warm eye...

Not sure if it's a std, but works for me!

If it's a warm coloured smokey eye, then I'll use a warm blush, usually something bronzey. For a cool coloured smokey eye, I'll use a cool blush, usually pink.

This is a very good question, My first impulse was to say yes, together they produce a very sexy, come hither look (Think Kim Kardashian's makeup 90% of the time) but mow when I think of it, it can be a bit much and even off (Think I Love New York's clown looking makeup). I think the key is balancing the two, go soft on the cheeks if your wearing a sultry smokey eye look...it's better to be safe than sorry, lol.

I normally use NARS Zen to give my cheeks a nice dark nude color (not too dark, but darker than my natural skintone), and then I layer a light shimmery peachy-pink blush or MSF over it.

I use a pinky peach with a smokey look. It just seems to work better with my skintone than an outright pink or peach. Something like "Orgasm" or Milani "Luminous".

i think it depends on clothes you wear. and the colour of smokey eyes. if you do them black i would go for pink in winter and for warm, peach colour in summer. =) just don't put too much blush.

Hi,
When doing a smokey eye, I keep the blush application very soft. Peach, apricot and rose tones (or undertones) work very well.

I usually do a smokey, neutral eye for everyday and I do use a a peachy toned blush with neutral coloured lips. It looks very polished....IMO.

I've heard you definitely have to wear some kind of soft blusher with the smokey eye otherwise you may look maskey. Just don't skip it completely i think.
