I am finally getting to buy some makeup from Sephora and MAC...I can only get it online so I have never ordered from them before. I have a small UDPP I got off ebay so I know I must have that as well as Smashbox photo finish primer. My question is what all should I get??? Here is what I'm thinking, Please let me know if it's worth getting or what other things I should try.

Sephora: UDPP, Photo finish primer, Nars Orgasm, and Waterproof Diorshow in Chestnut

MAC: Vanilla, Chocolate brown, and Tan pigments. Fluidline in dipdown

I want some of the MSF or whatever it is that everyone is always talking about, but I couldn't find it on their website. I really don't know what I'm looking for though so can someone help me out with that as well? I plan to spend around $150 to $200. so I need some ideas! Question: I am no good at putting on Liquid eyeliner so do you think I could use fluidline? I really want some!

definately get nars orgasm. It's hot! in fact any nars blush, I love them all!

i'd start off with a cheap liquid liner before going to something like gel, the basic rule with eyeliner (for me anyway) is pencil is easier than liquid, liquid is easier than gel. I'd buy some cheap liquid liner and practise before I bought something expensive.

Also, I would say, get things that you like the look of, not just what everyone else loves - if there is a nars blush that suits you better than get it instead of orgasm

anyway it sounds like a wonderful haul you're getting, i cant wait to see it in the haul forum some day soon

Oooh, fun fun! I would look into a palette, there are sooo many out right now and so many to choose from. You get a good array of eyeshadow shades, there are even a few combo sets out where you can get multiple items!

I myself, like the fluidline over liquid liner. I find it's easier to apply. I agree with what Rosie said though, you don't want to waste money by getting a product that you may not like after trying it, so you might want to check out the L'Oreal HIP cream liners and practice with those before getting the fluidlines.

Have fun shopping!

I have a pantina Cream or gel liner, I find it ok to put on, but I tend to put it up too high on my top lid. I don't know where to put it on my bottom lid. I may have to practice more.

Your list sounds good. You won't be able to get any MSF right now because they're limited edition. However, if you do a search for it, I think Gold Spill is still available. You can also find MSFs on Ebay and sometimes they pop up for sale on MUT.

I have a couple of suggestions for you. Instead of getting Smashbox's primer, try Monistat's anti chaffing gel first. There is a thread at the top of the forum. I use this and I personally feel that it is better than Smashbox's stuff.

Second of all, instead of getting Nars Orgasm blush, check out some of the less pricy dupes, such as Avon's Mark line. The "AfterGlo" blush is suppsed to be an exact dupe.

I'm only suggesting these products because they are cheaper and they work exactly the same. However if the idea of purchasing higher end brands appeal to you more than saving money on the dupes, then by all means order Nars and Smashbox.

For MAC I would HIGHLY AND STRONGLY SUGGEST that you purchase some of the holiday collections, such as the brush set with the 187. You'll be thankful that you got that brush! I would also recommend the pigment collections because they are an awesome deal!! I bought both the warm and the cool collections.

No matter what you purchase, I hope you enjoy it!! And don't forget to sign up for Sephora's Beauty Insider card!

I have NARS Orgasm and I think it's similar to my Cover Girl's cheekers in Rose Silk, only Orgasm has like twice the shimmer and it's more of a gold shimmer.

Try it out first and see if you like it.

Mari thanks for those pictures, I have to go check that CG color out!

Im not sure what to tell you to get but Id say buy MAC Plushlash mascara instead of Diorshow. Im in love with it, it has a special brush, seperates lashes like magic, builds up without ever clumping, and can create both natural and dramatic looks. I tried Diorshow and dont think it even comes close in comparision...

Thats all I can think of lol unfortunatly most of the things I love from MAC are LE

Although Id advise obviously getting a fluidline, some shadows, and a lipglass or lipstick, or both

La_Mari: Thanks for the pics. It does look very close from what I can tell!

Phantom: thanks! I didn't see any brush sets, i'm going to go back and check those out. I want a 187 Sooo bad! I had a small bottle of Smashbox that I got from Ebay..I agree it doesn't work any better than monistat. I was thinking about that last night...so I think i'm going to save myself some money on that one. I am also going to look into dupes for orgasm. I think i'm going to check out CG Rose silk as La_Mari suggested, as well as getting a Mark After glo. That way I can save for the brush set! I don't really care if it's high end or not I really just want the same color. The brushes are where I'm willing to spend the extra money! Also Pigments I'll spend the extra money on them as well.

Killah:I will be sure to get the plushlash mascara, is that the one that has the odd wand i've been reading about? If so does it come with directions on how to use it?

You all have been great with all the help and suggestions!

I went and checked out macs holiday collections. They look Great..I'm grabbing the brush set and pigments. Can someone tell me what brush to get for applying the fluidline? I looked at the site, but since I don't know much about it i'm not sure what is best. I plan to get the brush cleaner for my brush set...is that a good idea or will something cheaper work just as well? Great Ideas...I can't wait to make my first mac purchase!!!

I have fluidline in black and I think it is easy to use. Just practice. I bought a fine tipped brush at an art store for $4 and it works really well with gel liners. Just make sure you clean your brush good after, fluidline tends to harden on the bristles

There is a recipe for a brush cleaner somewhere on this site that a lot of people love. Maybe you could give that one a try? I do have MAC's brush cleaner and it works pretty well.

I'd get a Lorac palette. You get a lot of things for cheaper that way.

I don't find MAC's brush sets that good but if you don't have any or many brushes then it could be a good start. I'd definitely get some stuff from the curiousitease collection and maybe a blush. MAC's powder blushes are awesome but the blushcreme's are just okay.

Smashbox has really nice eyeshadows. Clinique has nice lipsticks.

Hopefully you're happy with everything.

I meant to suggest this earlier, but check out some palettes by Urban Decay. The eyeshadows are amazing and the palettes are a really good deal!

I use NYX's angled liner brush and it works perfectly for me.

I prefer Loreal HIP creme liner OVER MAC's fluidline. It's a deeper black and the color stays true all day long. Plus, it's cheaper, easier to find (all drugstores, Walmart, and Target carry it), and there's more product per container.
Finally, this liner is easier for me to apply and comes out better than pencil or liquid liner so don't be afraid of it. With a little practice, a good brush, and some UDPP, it'll be your bestfriend in no time.

I like the Loreal HIP cream liner's too. I used the black one as a base under black shadow when I do a smokey eye.

girly_girl Nope the Plushlash doesnt come with instructions, but I learned how to use mine from someone explaining to me here on MUT. If you'd like to know, let me know and I'll tell you, we had a whole thread on it, I will find it for you in a minute.

If the link works here's the thread: https://forum.makeuptalk.com/f11...ara-66906.html

If you watch the pursebuzz video on it (link in that thread) it helps alot also. I prefer to apply it like the girl in the video, use flat side first for intense seperation and defintion, fluffier sides to add volume, and seperate a little again with the flat side. Becomes super easy to use about after 3 times of applying it
