Colorful Socks

I recently started wearing more colorful socks, or socks with designs on them. I'm wondering how much I should match my socks to what I'm wearing... I usually wear jeans, so you can't see the socks that much. But, sometimes my only clean socks are orange and I'm not sure that really matches many things! What do you guys think?

Hee hee - I love it! I wear Punky Brewster socks all the time! I'd do the orange, as long as I wasn't going somewhere like work or someplace important. But I always did that at college. (I don't know where you're at, home, college, work, etc.)

Side story about college and matching/looking "made up:"

In my college experience, you could always tell when high schoolers were visiting the campus. They'd be the ones wearing a ton of makeup, trying to impress the college guys. The university girls would be wearing sweat pants and a T-shirt, and casually chatting with the guys. It was so funny to watch the high school girls checking their compact mirrors and all. Little did they understand about rolling out of bed, and changing into something to get to an 8 am class.

If colorful socks are you, then go with it. Orange socks with jeans sound ok, but not with any other color of pant. How bout getting some colorful socks with the background colors being neutral so that they are more versatile? For example, beige socks with a kaleidoscope colored theme/design?

All of the above socks can be matched with jeans because their main background colors are neutrals or basics.

I agree with Californian, but I also think orange socks may go with khakis, especially if you have an orange shirt. I've got an orange hooded sweater that's perfect for such a time!

I don't wear the orange socks too often, since they do seem harder to match.

I've got some socks with Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet...3 pairs I think. I need to wear them more often!
