Dear Ladies, i am still figuring and experiencing out. How to put my concealer and foundation the correct way. And also, i want to read view from you ladies how do you put em. I mean the steps. As for Concealer i have 2. Its a Stick type by AVERINE and Mark Cealer by Shu Uemera.(its liquid).

And my foundation.... sometimes i use Maybelline's Compact foundation. Sometimes i use Shu's Liquid foundation.

Now, i want to ask. if i use liquid concealer. should i apply after or before applying my foundation.

and also if i use the stick type. is it after or before my foundation.

because im playing with liquis/stick concelaer. and 2 type of foundation. i really hope you ladies can help me out. and, do you use brush to apply the concealer..or just ur fingers. Oh yea one more thing. i dont have dary eye circles. this is for my acne scar. and some blemishes.

My skin Tpe: Oily and rudiness/acne

and......oh god i have so many things to ask.

which is the best one in the list below.

1. Laura Mercier Face Primer

2. MAC's Prep and Prime with or without SPF?

3. Girogio Armani''s Face Primer

I have never use primer before. i think that is why my foundation look horrible after 5hours...

A primer can really help ALL makeup to look gorgeous, although in my opinion is isn't necessarily a NECESSARY step.

THe Laura Mercier primer is silicone free - on my oily skin it is actually more of a hydrator that lets liquid and cream foundations blend well. It doesn't help me with shine, or make my skin look smoother.

The Mac Prep+Prime with SPF seems to get good reviews from gals with oily skin. I have not tried it myself. That one is a silicone based primer, so it makes the skin feel very velvety smooth and helps to fill in little pores and crinkles and such.

As for foundation and concealer, if I'm using a cream foundation like your Maybelline compact or a powder foundation, I'll put concealer of any sort on first. If I'm using a liquid foundation, I can do concealer either before or after foundation. Usually I do it before, but that's just 'cause - no real reason. Sometimes, since my concealer is a really close match to my skin anyway, once that is on I find I don't need as much foundation, or only need a bit in the Tzone. Other people will tell you the opposite - that once your foundation is on, you might find you don't need much concealer at all.

I say try it both ways - and learn from your experimenting. That is the best way, in my opinion. Learn what works great for YOU. Other than that there isn't much of a right or wrong way, as long as it looks the way you want it to.

bmichlig....... thanx.....so much. I have never tried primer before. actually primer is just for the foundation/make up last longer and go on smoothly right?

Hi,

As a freelance/pro mua, I find applying concealer after foundation (medium to full coverage foundation) works very well. This way you apply the concealer only where needed.

After foundation I just use my finger and apply under my eyes to rid myself of dark circles. Just dab on and blend out into foundation. Oh using MAC concealer. Flawless everytime.

I am not a fan of Primers personally. I usually apply my foundation or tinted moisturizer. I then follow that with concealer.
