I feel so silly to ask, but do you ever mix your foundations?

I’m in a position where I’m stuck between my summer color foundation (MAC – NW45) and my winter color (MAC – NC50). Each day last week I couldn’t figure out if my tan had faded. I don’t sunbathe, but if I run to the store, I’ll be tanned within 15 minutes. So I intentionally went out to solve my I-don’t-know-which-color-foundation-to-wear-today dilemma.

The thing is, though, I’m looking to buy a tinted moisturizer. Soon. It’s October and I’m still in my summer color, but by next month, my winter color will probably kick in. Thus, I have to buy two different color moisturizers to solve this problem until one color dominates. I also go through this in the spring, not to mention I have to spend $50 on foundation.

I usually don't because it's such a hastle (and more $$$)! lol. But there's nothing wrong with mixing foundations if necessary.

None of you have two different color skintones during a year? Like a summer and winter color?

I'm just paranoid that my foundation won't match my skintone, at any given moment, LOL.

I do. I mix my Hyperreal foundation with another foundation from Lumene. Or I mix it with moisturizer. Works perfectly.

I have heard that some people are two different colors depending on the season. But I apparently know only two colors: White and SUPER white!

I always have to mix my mineral foundations. Now my usually darker skintone is losing my summer color. I've had to switch again. It does get expensive but it's better than having my face not match my body.

i guess i get darker as summer heats up... but it depends how much I'm outside. but i tend to get rather paranoid as well, so it does help to have two i guess.

Most dark skinned girls have to mix their foundations throughout the year just to maintain even skin tone. You can try using the apricot primer from Makeup Forever, it's good for dark skin!
