I was doing some cleaning and found a suit I made a couple of years ago. Naturally when you take a tropical vacation you buy a swimsuit. Unfortunately all I could find was primarly speedos in blue and black. Boring city. I wanted a print that looked upscale, expensive and hawaiian. So I setout to make my own. I ended up buying my fabric online since fabric stores are a joke. I also managed to get this sewing WITHOUT a serger. Anyone who's sew spandex knows it's almost impossible to sew without a serger.

Anyway, I showed it to a friend recently who been in the fashion industry for a while. He thought it was amazing and told me the cut and style is much better than any womens suit you get at the store.

So here it is. Am I in, or am I out?

Living in Florida, I can definitely say I am NOT a fan of guys in speedos. Board shorts, please! I don't need that much information. lol. Of course, that is just my personal preference on males...

Of course, that is just my personal preference on males... You struck a big nerve there. Why should I wear board shorts? I mean really, who enjoys wearing wet clothes? I hate the feel of wet clothes. Board shorts take FOREVER to dry. In the mean time I can enjoy the gross feeling of wet shorts to my knees. This is followed by a chaffing rash on the inside of my legs from the wet fabric. Yeah, lovely. I don't see women signing up for this. Nor do I feel like I should wear what every other guys is wearing just because they are wearing it. It may be easier to accept your view if women practiced what they preached. But really, it's a cultural thing, don't ever visit Europe.
Sorry for the rant, but yeah, you struck a nerve. I guess it bothers me that guys are expected to wear shorts. You can't tell me that nearly every guy out there wears board shorts because he likes it. I think it's a combination of pressure by current culture the man validating he is male, and the fear of being perceived as gay. This is done by telling men what they should wear, combined with isolating those who go against the norm. Study sex, gender, and society and how they interact and the roles they play is very much an interesting study.

If you haven't guessed, I tend to go against the flow.

Then again, if I did, I probably wouldn't be here.

And lastly, if I have the body for it, why not?

Men is speedos? can I saw eww? God, you guys are really trying to piss me off today aren't you? This was a fashion post, not a your personal taste. While I'm at it I'll take a stab of my own.
How about this. If you are larger than a size 4, put a burka on and cover your fat ass.

Yeah I'm on a roll now. Where were you people when the larger girl here asked about skinny jeans. I don't recall anyone tell her eww or gross, you need to cover up.

Hypocrisy, you gotta love it. I call it the, "it's different when I do it" Anyway yeah, my friend told me he thought it was great, I showed him some sketches and really things I should design womens swimwear. Doubt I will though. Still would be fun though.

Myself I don't think I could have done much better at the time. The two tone olive green is very euro and contemporary. The cut offers good coverage without looking shall we say, grandma. You take those elements and it's Hawaiian print and it looks modern yet relaxed. The best part about the print is the size of the Hibiscus flowers. Too often swim wear has a small print, and it's statement is lost if the wearer is more than 10 feet away as it all blurs together. That is not the case with this print. So close by or far away, it maintains modern hawaiian look.

Yes, I have some other ideas I've been sketching out. Yes, actually womens wear. ( One pieces specifically ) I'd love to bring those into reality. I'll post those if you promise to be nice. Hopefully on some models.

I like some guys in speedos - just like some women shouldnt be walking around in a bikini, some men shouldnt be in speedo's... but those who can be - I say should be!

Hello! Summer Olympics is comin up... and I watch the Mens Swimming for a reason other than caring who will win, okay?

I think it looks great! The color scheme is very European and, when paired with the Hawaiian print, how can you go wrong?

I know what wet clothes clinging to you feels like. I am from a very religious family and girls are always expected to wear large shirts over their swimwear at church functions/outings involving water. Which is quite common in Florida.
I suggested you wear board shorts because I find that much more attractive on guys. Just as I prefer guys wear boxers to briefs. Once again, personal preference. Which is always going to play into fashion. Speedos are much more revealing, which I do not like.

And, as far as calling us hypocrites for not saying larger girls should not wear skinny jeans, check out the poll in that thread.

In the future, if you're going to be posting threads asking people's opinions, please be willing to actually accept their opinions.
