Does anyone do fiberglass nails? I've heard it is better for your nails than acrylic or gel.

Apparently its normally done by hand (the nail isn't filed down with a drill cause its not necessary), and is literraly a piece of fiberglass (looks like a roll of tape) that is stuck to the nail, gel on top, quick file and done! I'm told that it soaks off in five minutes using acetone.

"Fiberglass extensions utilize a fiberglass mesh or fabric that is placed on the nail and then treated with resin to make the fiberglass clear. After the application of the resin, an activator is usually sprayed to cure the resin which provides a hard finish. One of the appealing aspects of fiberglass extensions is that they are water soluble and can be removed by simply applying some water." quoted from a nail extension site.

I guess if it is water soluble then they'd be no good if you had a job where you needed to wash your hands alot! I've also heard that they break the easiest of all the nail enhancements but look the most natural. Hope this helps.

Glad I saw this!! I actually got fiberglass done last week on top of my nails. It feels soooo natural and was quick to put on. The application was basicially as Raze said above. The only thing is that I don't think that they're water soluble. The nail tech told me they come off if you soak them in nail polish remover with acetone.
Totally better than Acrylic IMO!!
